244. The New School Rules and Professor Hagrid

The little wizards who got off the train looked at the small platform that was a little icy, and it was still summer. I didn't feel it on the train, but when I got off the train, I found that the outside temperature was really low, and the pouring rain made their mood even lower because of the Dementors.

Many young wizards hurriedly took their luggage and walked to the platform, and saw the burly Hagrid form a circle with his hands and loudly asked them to divide the team according to their grades.

Then he saw him, Harry, and they nodded at them, and then took the somewhat panicked first-year students on the traditional trip across the lake.

"I hate rainy days." After watching Hagrid and them leave, Ron grumbled as he held back the rain with his wand.

"I don't think many people will like this kind of weather, and thankfully, if we weren't wizards, we would definitely be chickens." McGoth, who was following the large group, looked at Luna, who was being supported by Hermione, and saw that her face was a little pale, and it seemed that she had not completely gotten rid of the sequelae.

After walking along the dirt path for a while, they saw an extremely long line of wooden carts stopping on the road.

"How do they move?" Hermione watched as the young wizard at the front got into the wooden cart, and the cart drove automatically.

"Maybe it's magic." Ron said uncertainly.

"Or could it be a magical animal we can't see pulling a cart, an invisible horse?" Harry looked at the shape of the wooden cart and guessed almost exactly like the horse-drawn carriage.

"Anything is possible." McGoth smiled.

Soon it was their turn, but the space in the wooden cart was limited enough for the three of them to sit in it, and Hermione and Luna sat in the back of the wooden cart.

The smell inside the car was not very good, and there was a musty smell, which made McGoss wonder if it had been put away for a long time, and then suddenly remembered to take out these wooden cars for them to sit in because of the heavy rain.

One of them was chatting with Harry Ron, who habitually looked out the window, and due to the heavy rain, he couldn't see any of the Hogsmeade buildings.

However, as he passed through the magnificent cast-iron gates at the outermost part of Hogwarts, he and the others noticed two tall, obscured Dementors standing guard on either side of the gate.

"Why are they here?" Ron asked, surprised.

Harry seemed to shadow the Dementors, and did not answer him, retracting his gaze from the window.

As the cart passed through the iron gate, Magos seemed to feel the Dementor's head move slightly, but since the visibility was too low for the last hand, it was very likely that he would be wrong.

The wooden cart slowly stopped in front of the castle, and Magos and the others jumped out of the cart and waited for Hermione and Luna to get out of the car and prepare to enter, when Malfoy came quickly with two of his henchmen.

"Hi McGoss, hey, Harry, I heard you fainted."

Harry was a little embarrassed, he thought everyone knew he was stunned.

Malfoy didn't care if Harry ignored him, and after letting the two henchmen stay away from him, he walked up to McGoth and whispered that the summer vacation incident was interesting, and he would remember to inform him of such an interesting event in the future.

McGoth glanced at him and said You weren't unhappy before, why are you so brave now. Malfoy said that it was normal for him to be a little nervous when facing a wild wizard for the first time, and he would definitely not be next time.

"But I don't want to do it again, I almost lost my life that time."

Malfoy remembered that McGoth had told him about what had happened that night, and his courage was waning, and he laughed dryly and returned to the Slytherin group with his henchmen.

As she was about to reach the hall, Professor McGonagall suddenly came and called out Harry and Hermione and Luna, and glanced at McGoth in surprise.

"Let's go, it's none of our business." Pulling up Ron, who also wanted to go over, he entered the hall and walked over to the Gryffindor table and sat down.

"What would Professor McGonagall say to them? Why is it still called Hermione? ”

"You'll have to ask her." He said casually, looking at the sorting hat in front of the four houses, and felt the urge to take it on for a chat.

"Be quiet." Dumbledore tapped the silver cup in front of him,

Then he said aloud,

"The Sorting Ceremony begins."

With the applause of the young wizards, the freshmen walked in from outside the hall, their expressions exactly the same as they had been at the beginning.

"By the way, there was something I forgot to say." Dumbledore opened his mouth to draw everyone's attention away from the freshmen.

"Given that one of the young wizards has been chatting with the Sorting Hat for too long, everyone has been hungry for a long time," he paused, and everyone looked at Magos and let out a good-natured laugh,

"So starting this year, a new school rule was announced, not allowing more than five minutes of conversation with the Sorting Hat, otherwise the Sorting would be mandatory."

This new school rule, which seemed confusing to the freshmen, made them even more nervous when they were sorting houses, and they hardly dared to go back to the sorting hat, but fortunately the sorting hat didn't really ask them, and when they couldn't make up their minds between two houses with the right personality, waiting a few seconds would help them make a choice.

As the sorting ceremony was over, Harry and the others walked in from outside the hall and sat down at their house tables.

Dumbledore got up again when he saw the crowd and quieted them down.

"I have a few things to say before the dinner begins, the first is about the search of Dementors on the Hogwarts Express, I think you've all heard, and our school is currently hosting a number of Dementors from Azkaban, who will be on official business with the Ministry of Magic."

The little wizards below looked at each other when they heard the news, it was about the Ministry of Magic, and they didn't know if the Ministry of Magic was right or wrong.

"The second thing is also about the Dementors, since they will block all entrances and exits to Hogwarts, the PUBG course that was just opened last year will have some impact, but don't worry, I will ask the Ministry of Magic to agree that this class will be held as usual, but it will be delayed for about a month. In addition, I would like to warn all of you. Dementors are inherently unaware of what a request or excuse is, so don't give them a reason or excuse to hurt you. Finally, it is strictly forbidden to provoke and disguise the Dementors in front of them, and it is strictly forbidden for anyone to leave the school without permission, not even the Cloak of Invisibility. ”

The last sentence was clearly addressed to Harry.

"Also, our new Boys and Girls Presidents, you have to make sure that no student will clash with the Dementors."

Percy and a lady stood up and nodded to the young wizards around them.

"The last thing to be happy about is that we will have two new professors, the first one is Professor Lupin on my left. He will teach you Defence Against the Dark Arts lessons. ”

Lupin stood up and gestured to everyone, and Snape at the end of the table looked at him with a very unfriendly and undisguised gaze, which made most young wizards less optimistic about the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. So the applause was not too enthusiastic, but McGoss, for his part, applauded him with the best strength.

After the applause stopped, Dumbledore opened his mouth to introduce the second new professor.

"Professor Kettleburn has decided to resign from the Conservation of Magical Creatures class due to his age, and he will be succeeded by Rubeus Brown, whom we are familiar with. Hagrid, of course you'll need to call him Professor Hagrid in the future. ”
