Old Scenes (Extras)

It's weird to make new friends in this way!

I tried to open the tome and let the three of us escape, but the sac-throated fish jumped up again, and we were catapulted into the air in the bubble. Then it fell with a pop - the big fish must have jumped onto the deck of the ship. I heard the sailors roaring and the huge fishes rushing back and forth, whipping them with their tails.

I heard the sound of falling water, and then another, and then another. Several humans must have been beaten into the water. We're still stuck in the throat of the fish. I flipped through the tome and opened a portal that shimmered with the dim green of Bandel City, the green of my homeland.

I grabbed the yodeler's shirt and rushed into the page. The portal slowly unfolded, and we spun into the spiritual realm, caught in a vortex of color in a dizziness.

We coughed and appeared on the bank of a creek. I took a breath of the sweet air of Bandel City, as thick and rich as I had ever dreamed. The blue jade crickets chirped in the twilight, and the brook bubbled gently, and it was full of fish—small fish.

The tome slapped the pages and shook the water dry. The blue-haired yodeler stood up, soaking wet and shivering. "Just now? How do we ...... Escaped? He asked, "Isn't the nearest Bilgewater portal supposed to be on the docks?" ”

"We're lucky that the Grimith has our portal with us." I say. The tome spun around, revealing its pages made of shriveled trees, each with a door outlined in ink and paint.

"Thank you for saving me," said the yodeler, looking curiously at the Grimiary, "do you live here too?" ”

"It used to be, but now I don't live here." After I finished speaking, I looked at the Grimoire and remembered my master sadly.

The tome flapped the pages. I know it thinks it's time to hit the road.

"Will you find a home from here?" I asked the yodeler.

"Yes, yes, after the cigarette bag hole, you will go uphill. I'm familiar with this ranch. Sincerely hope you can find your yodeler. With that, he walked away.

I paused for a moment and watched the twilight turn to dawn. I caught a glimpse of a moon flying on the horizon, and I wanted to pounce on it, but then I thought that Nora was still out of nowhere, probably waiting for us to save her.

I gently patted the tome with my paw - I knew it was missing her, too.

Then I turned a new page and jumped in.

On the outskirts of Bandel there was once a woodland valley where the moon moths sparkled and rainbow fish leaped along the riverside. In a forest hut, there lives a yodel witch Nora, and a cat, Yuumi.

Yuumi was born with protective magical powers. She had spent many years of her leisure lazily, biting at the spots of the sun or napping in the shade of the rat tree. Sometimes, going out on adventures piqued her interest, and she would travel back and forth between the physical and spiritual realms with Nora. Nora has been collecting all sorts of strange items, such as notched teacups, stained glass shards, and fabrics embroidered with playful patterns. She scrutinizes each object with the utmost seriousness, but Yuumi never understands what they're for. Despite this, Yuumi will use her magic to protect Nora from harm, and will also use herself to warm her feet when she returns home.

The pathway between the two realms is delicate and rarely opens, and even dexterous animals like cats cannot enter and exit at will. Yuumi had seen the other yodelers wait for days until the stars in the east lined up with specific stone arches; Or fidgetily rummaging through the swamp lily bushes, searching for silvery flowers in the mud – only in these particular moments does a pathway open. But Nora has a powerful copy of the Door, which can take her to the places depicted on the pages in no time. When Nora opens a portal, she and Yuumi happily jump into the glowing pages and reach their destination instantly, followed by the Grimoire a moment later.

Yuumi never cared much about this tome until that night when she couldn't see the stars. When she finished amusing the moon moth with her own light, she came home to find Nora missing. She saw the tome on her master's desk and flipped through the pages in a panic to find that several pages had been torn off by Zigan. Yuumi couldn't read the title of the book, so he called it the "Magic Book" according to the owner's name. In response, the Dome shuddered, and Yuumi was surprised to find that she could understand the Dome's thoughts as the paper rubbed. Although the Grimoire does not speak, the thoughts it expresses are clear and loud. Yuumi realizes that Nora has gone to a very dangerous place, so dangerous that she has to destroy the portal after leaving.

Yuumi knows she must save Nora, so she enlists the help of the Grimomy. Each of the thousands of pages of the Grimomy follows the threads of magic, through the material and spiritual realms, leading to a different place. The page Nora traveled through was gone, but the Grimoire might be able to take Yuumi to the nearest place. Yuumi and the Grimome must test every door of possibility. She became the incredible guardian of the Grimoire and vowed to protect it with lion courage - because if it fell into the wrong hands, the gates to Bandel would be open to all the ugly and greedy.

Yuumi and the Grimome embark on an arduous journey to visit many dangerous and unknown lands. Yuumi searches the wind for Nora's scent, but to little avail. While Yuumi sometimes slips halfway through, chasing the breath of a rat or taking a nap, the Grimoi is always nervous, angry about wasting time and worried about potential threats. But no matter what, Yuumi and the Grimome are determined to find their master and take her home.

When Yuumi misses Nora so much, she often looks for solace in her new companions. Her favorite is a shepherd holding a gate. He had a thick beard and a low laugh like a murmur of water. Yuumi had rested on his shoulders for a while, helping him fend off angry snow spirits in hail and storms, and he brought her fresh fish.

Later, Yuumi finally discovers the vaguely recognizable scent of his master in the ruins of a sprawling Shurima. She dug deep into the desert and found a blue ceramic shard that looked somewhat like a teapot from Nora's collection. Before she could dig deeper, a ferocious beast emerged from the sea of sand, and Yuumi and the Dome barely escaped. She couldn't imagine what would happen if such a monster reached its claws into the Grimicome.

Although Yuumi and the Grimome are a strange pair, they quickly become friends, and their shared love for Nora makes Yuumi and the Grimome like-minded. Yuumi continues to search for traces of her master, so that one day she can return to her old life, lying next to Nora, sunbathing and napping.
