The Gods in One Act Old Kansas Chapter 1: The Farmhouse
Final Era: August 12, 2119 A.D
Sylvan Grove, Kansas, USA
That night when the crows were swarming, Allan closed the blinds, but he couldn't sleep all night. When he awoke the next day, until he saw a very small and round hole in his plank-sealed window, he had forgotten for a moment the catastrophe of the previous night.
The crows are hardworking.
He lived alone in his grandmother's old farmhouse. She had a chicken farm and she would sell eggs at the farmer's market while she was still alive. A few years ago, when she entered the city, she was taken by a monster. He didn't know the details, but he didn't want to know what was going on. The Public Safety Foundation issued a notice: she was killed by an electrified creature and died a crisp death. In this case, the electric shock basically means certain death.
Alan opened the window and looked at the chicken coop that looked like a little dead city, buried in dried guano and dust. Outside was the great nothingness of old Kansas, with slightly undulating hills and dust.
The farmhouse is old. It's been at least 200 years, and he's thankful that it's so strong. The only problem he has to deal with at the location of his property is the crow.
He had slaughtered some rats last night, but he found that he had left the meat in the cupboard. If you use the right spices, the meat is not so unpalatable, and the offal is actually pretty good. Just remember to cook them thoroughly. After frying the meat, he put the food on a dirty old plate and turned on the TV.
A young man wears a tattered brown vest and walks down a dusty old road. He carried a shovel and a large backpack on his back.
A red capital letter appears on the screen.
Public Safety Tip: Old Kansas
Always carry a backup weapon.
An eyeless mad dog appeared on the road and began to run towards the young man. He aimed his Revolver at it, and the pistol clicked. The young man rolled his eyes, raised the shovel, and dealt the dog a fatal blow to the head. He hung the shovel over his shoulder and gave the camera a thumbs up.
"It's easy!"
Always carry a day's worth of food and medical supplies.
He checked his backpack and found it full of fresh apples. He gives the camera a big smile.
"Stay safe!"
Remember to cook wild animals thoroughly before enjoying them. Don't eat monsters.
The young man picked up a strange three-headed caterpillar monster and retracted his head away from the monster. He shook his head.
"No way."
They call them monsters to cater to the masses. But the name is really apt to describe them. It is no longer possible to accurately describe abnormal creatures and objects by such terms as they are.
Never camping outside. Make sure all entrances to your accommodation are secure.
The young man suddenly stuck his head out of a shipping container. He fixed his gaze on a statue outside, then slowly retracted his head back inside the door before slamming it shut.
"It's fine!" He said happily, his face illuminated by matches.
He hated this stuff. Now is the time for the big part to play.

He turned off the TV and walked over to the coat rack. He grabbed an old bloodstained baseball bat and a backpack full of young dandelion leaves for nutritional supplies. He pulled the deadbolt and let the brilliant purple sunlight warm his face. With yearning and remembrance, he looked at the old farm that had died.
But today, there is still a lot of light ahead.
