Chapter 184: Heading for the Sacred Mountain

Although Li Qiang has successfully climbed three peaks above 8,000 meters above sea level, he still feels unsure about the summit of Mount Meili, which is only more than 6,700 meters above sea level!

More than 8,000 meters of peaks have been climbed, but more than 6,000 meters are difficult to conquer. Why?

From the perspective of modern science, there are five reasons.

The weather is capricious and unpredictable, and it is one of them. Due to the warm and humid airflow of the Bay of Bengal, which drives straight into the Nujiang River Gorge and the Lancang River Gorge for a long time, coupled with the combined influence of the southward airflow from Tibet, the weather in Meili Snow Mountain is changing rapidly, and the transition between good and bad often takes more than ten minutes, which catches people off guard, and its law is difficult to grasp. It can also be said that the absence of rules is the law of Meili Snow Mountain.

Located at low latitudes, the snow solidification is poor, which is the second. Abundant precipitation brings deep snow, and high temperatures make it possible for the snow to disintegrate and collapse at any time. Meteorologists have recorded hundreds of avalanche observations in a day of Kagbo.

The actual climbing height exceeds that of Mount Everest, which is the third. Although Mount Everest surpasses Kagbo Peak by more than 2,100 meters above sea level, the base camp is built at an altitude of 5,200 meters, and the yak can go up to 6,400 meters above sea level, and the manpower transportation from the summit is only a vertical distance of more than 2,400 meters above sea level; And the actual climb and manpower transport distance from the base camp at 3,500 meters above sea level to the summit of the Kagbo is 3,200 meters, which is of course more difficult.

The complex topography and geological structure are the fourth. On average, every 1 kilometer from the summit of the Kagbo peak to the mouth of the Mingyong River, the terrain rises nearly 400 meters, creating a series of almost vertical slopes. Such steep, steep alpine valley terrain is rare in the world. Due to the drastic cutting of the mountain, ice-breaking glaciers, ice explosion areas, and ice cracks are lined up one after another, so there are dangers and dangers.

Climbing alone is the fifth. In the first three mountaineering, Li Qiang climbed the mountain with a team, including many experienced mountaineers who have been climbing the mountain several times. And this time, only Li Qiang was alone. No one will point out Li Qiang's mistakes when they make them. No one will know what to climb next. No one will help carry heavy, large equipment that everyone can share. Of course, no one knows exactly how this road should be taken from the site of the failure of the last Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering team to the summit.

Meili Snow Mountain is worthy of being a sacred mountain, it has repeatedly thwarted human attempts to climb to the top of its head and jump, including Kagbo, Mentsm and many other snow-capped mountains, which are still the untouched virgin peaks of all people. In the 30s of the 20th century, Dr. Locke, an American scholar who traveled around many famous mountains and rivers around the world, was impressed by the grandeur of Meili Snow Mountain and praised it as "the most beautiful mountain in the world". During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, an American plane mistakenly entered the forbidden land of Mount Kinabalu and tried to fly over the summit of Kagbo Peak, but crashed into a glacier and killed the plane.

Today, the China Mountaineering Bureau has banned climbing the Meili Snow Mountain since 1996. One is to maintain the mysterious image of Meili Snow Mountain to attract more tourists, and the other is to take into account the feelings of Tibetans. After all, as a sacred mountain of Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetans are extremely resistant to climbing Meili. Legend has it that once a human ascends the sacred mountain, the gods will leave them and no longer protect them.

If it weren't for the guidance of the old monk, Li Qiang would not have touched this mold. Li Qiang firmly believed that even the so-called gods on the mountain would never be the opponent of the old monk, a saint-level powerful existence in the depths of the chaotic sea in the universe!

The old monk mentioned to Li Qiang that even if the most ordinary saint exists, the power of one blow is equivalent to the energy released by the sun in one second, which is enough to evaporate all the oceans on the earth in an instant!

That's a vast ocean! Magellan was once a hero in the hearts of many people, and his fleet set off on September 20, 1519 and completed the first circumnavigation of mankind on September 6, 1522, which was a major achievement in the history of world navigation, and proved that the earth is spherical and that the oceans around the world are connected.

But this vast and vast ocean that spreads all over the world, and the boundless ocean will also evaporate under the casual blow of the existence of a saint-level powerhouse! Without water, all life on Earth would cease to exist! Life had to start anew over billions of years.

This kind of power has surpassed the so-called mountain gods at least millions, tens of millions of times. Even if there are gods in Meili Snow Mountain, they are still like ants prostrate and begging for mercy in front of the old monk. Such a great existence will naturally not let the so-called mountain gods bully him.

After bidding farewell to Meng Qi with tears, carrying dozens of kilograms of equipment, Li Qiang embarked on the journey alone. At this time, it was the cold winter wax moon, the weather was relatively cold, the ice and snow were relatively firm, and the number of collapses should be less. If he accidentally set off on an avalanche, Li Qiang would also use the Turtle Breath Technique to hold his breath and wait for the avalanche to pass before setting off.

On December 1, Li Qiang set off from the base camp at 3,500 meters, and three days later successfully passed through the glacier, passed through the broken snow layer that was difficult to stand on, crossed the trumpet-shaped pass on the cliff, climbed the ice wall, and stepped on December 4 at an altitude of 4,600 meters to the abandoned No. 1 camp of the Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering team.

On December 6, Li Qiang entered Camp 2 at an altitude of 5,320 meters.

On December 11, Li Qiang arrived at Camp 3 in the lower saddle section of Kagbo Peak, which is 6,100 meters above sea level. On December 12, Li Qiang crossed a large ice wall of nearly 90 degrees, opening the biggest obstacle to the summit.

On December 13, Li Qiang climbed to Camp 4 at an altitude of 6,300 meters above sea level on the right shoulder of the main peak. It's a sunny day, a warm day, a light breeze, and a gagobo silver glow, close at hand!

However, at this moment, Li Qiang has not been carried away by the success so far, the one who travels a hundred miles is half ninety, the closer he is to success, the more likely it is to hide a huge killing opportunity! Li Qiang also clearly remembered what terrifying power the snow mountain released when he was angry in the dream realm!

In line with the original plan, Li Qiang planned to stay in Camp 4 for one night and fall asleep, waiting for the old monk's next instructions.
