40. Take six wives
After a long journey, they finally followed Percy to the Gryffindor's common room, a giant portrait.
In the portrait, a rich woman in pink looks at Percy in the lead,
"Password!"
"Dragon scum! Remember, this is what you have to say when you come back, otherwise she won't open the door. The portrait staggered forward, revealing a circular hole in the wall, through which they all crawled.
"This is your lounge from now on, and the girls' dormitory is behind that door, come with me." He led the girls to their dormitories, while the boys sat in the lounge waiting for Percy to return.
"Are you tired? McGoss. Ron sat down next to McGoss.
"How can you not be tired, it's half past eleven." He looked at the mechanical watch on his wrist.
But Ron didn't care what he said to him, his eyes fixed on the watch on his wrist.
"Is this a Muggle item?"
"Yes, this is a watch, used to check the time, but I only have one now, if you are interested, I will give you one next time."
"It's not good." He was a little hesitant, embarrassed to hand the gift for no reason and didn't want to give it up.
"It's okay, it's a Christmas present for you then."
Ron didn't speak, he was now thinking about what to give him for Christmas. Before he could think about Percy's return, he led them to another door, behind which was a spiral staircase. They soon saw their respective luggage, next to which was a four-pillar bed with a crimson flannel curtain. Percy said to rest early and left, everyone was tired and chatted casually before changing clothes and going to bed, and Magos opened the window and let Xiaobai and Harry's Hedwig out and went to bed.
When McGoth woke up the next morning, he found a piece of parchment next to his pillow, and when he picked it up, it turned out to be a one-semester class schedule, with a total of eight courses.
Defence Against the Dark Arts – Professor Quirrell,
Transfiguration – Professor McGonagall,
Potions Class – Professor Slipper,
Astronomy – Professor Sinista,
Herbology – Professor Sprout,
Charmology – Professor Flitwick,
History of Magic – Mr. Binns (Ghost),
And the final flying lesson – Mrs. Hooch, note, only one school year.
McGoth took a look, except for Friday afternoon, when there was no class, the rest of the time was full. After changing into his robes, he took the two books on the history of magic and charms that he was going to take in the morning, and left with the others in the dormitory, leaving with Hermione and the others in the common room. Walking down the hallway of the classroom, a group of older students scrambled to stare at Harry, which made him feel uncomfortable, pulling Ron to hide in the middle.
It took a while to find the classroom, where they met the Ravenclaw students, their first lesson was also the history of magic, and Mr. Binns was already waiting inside.
McGoth was habitually ready to sit in the last row, but was pulled by Hermione to sit in the first row. Mr. Binns's lecture was boring, not that he read it from the book, but that his words had not changed since he was lecturing, whether it was a high or a low, the tone was so flat that even Hermione could not listen to it anymore, and she began to look through the textbook by herself. McGoth looked back, Neville squinted his little eyes and looked attentive, but judging by his occasionally blank expression, it was clear that he was not used to this way of lecturing, and Harry and Ron at the back had already begun to fight with Doze. Then he looked down at the Ravenclaw, and the first row was Padma. Patil and a girl he doesn't know, she also has an older sister Parvati. Petil sat behind him at Gryffindor, and the two sisters looked beautiful, she looked like she was taking notes seriously, and behind her sat Terry. Bout, Michael. Kona and Anthony. Goldstein and the others were looking down and whispering something with a happy look on their faces, and Anthony noticed that McGoth was looking at him and nodded back to him, and then the other two looked at him curiously. McGoth propped his chin in his hands, his eyes glazed over Mr. Binns' transparent body.
The next lesson was that of Professor Flitwick, who was very diminutive, and in addition to expressing his excitement at Harry's arrival, he gave a high rating to several junior Charms Masters, for which he added five points to Gryffindor. The Herbology and Transfiguration classes in the afternoon were equally uneventful, except that he added another 2 points to Gryffindor in the Transfiguration class.
After they finished their meal in the evening, Harry and Ron pulled Magos to play Wizard Fight, Hermione heard it and had a cold eyebrow, McGoth had to say that he had lost the cards and couldn't play, the two of them sat on the sofa in disappointment, and several other Gryffindors surrounded them curiously and asked what Wizard Fight was, and the two of them excitedly recounted what happened on the train.
"Hermione, I'm going to the library, are you going?" Whenever he had free time, McGoth was a little eager to find clues about the mysterious parchment.
Hermione went with him without thinking, she was no less interested in the library with its huge collection than McGoss.
"Are we okay with coming out so late?" Hermione looked at the somewhat dark sky.
"It's not dark yet, we'll come back after a while." Gryffindor's lounge was on the eighth floor, while the library was on the fifth floor, which required them to descend three flights of stairs to get there. However, as they went from the seventh floor to the sixth floor, they didn't see the direction in which the stairs on the next floor automatically shifted. And just like that, they went straight to the sixth floor and went straight to the fourth floor.
"Why hasn't it arrived yet? Are we on the wrong track? Hermione nervously tugged at Ramegoth's robe.
"I don't know, take a look ahead, and if we haven't found it, we'll go back." McGoth frowned at the unfamiliar surroundings in front of him, to be honest, he didn't know as much about this large and surprisingly large castle as the other students, and it was impossible to see the scene he saw now from the novels and movies.
It was already completely dark, and Magos looked at the stairs with an ugly face, he swore they definitely came down from here, but now the problem came, the stairs were gone.
"What should I do?" There was a hint of panic in Hermione's voice.
"Don't be afraid, this is the school, there will be no danger, let's see if we can meet Mr. Filch, he is the administrator of the school, and we can go back if we find him." Magos wasn't worried at first that he wouldn't meet Filch, because in his image, Harry and the others would definitely run into him or his cat, Lady Loris, but it turned out to be a bit unexpected, not only did he not meet Filch and his cat, but he didn't even encounter Peeves, who were said to be messing around.
And he couldn't even find his way back now, they were now completely lost in the castle, and groping in the dark was obviously not a good idea.
"Fluorescent flicker!" McGoth had no choice but to pull out his wand, and now if he met Filch again, the deduction was certain.
They continued to grope their way ahead with the light of their wands, and slowly they came to a fork in the road, and a huge mirror towered in front of them.
"Wow!" It was Hermione's exclamation, and she involuntarily walked over to the mirror. "Wow!" Another exclamation.
"What's wrong?" McGoth had guessed what was in front of him, and he walked over to Hermione to see what he looked like in the mirror.
"I saw that I became the most famous witch in the world, and I had a huge private library." Hermione said happily (Personally, I think most people's minds change with age, only obsessive ones like Harry and Dumbledore will always change).
"Congratulations." McGoth replied to her absentmindedly, in the mirror he was standing at the front in an incomparably delicate robe, with countless wizards standing on the left looking up at him, and countless scientists on the right looking at him adoringly, as if he had boundless power and wisdom.
"Is that what I want?" He muttered to himself, and although he saw what was going on inside, he felt that it was not what he wanted.
"What do you see?" Hermione's voice woke him up from his boundless fantasies.
"I saw that I took six wives." He said with a playful look at Hermione.
"Aristocratic virtue, womanizer......" Hermione immediately became furious, and scolded him all the time, but only those two sentences were repeated over and over again. A light footstep sounded behind them.
"Oh, it looks like I didn't come at the right time." A pleasant voice spoke after them.
McGoth and Hermione were startled by the sound and quickly looked back to see that it was Dumbledore.
"Hello, Headmaster Dumbledore." Hermione straightened up nervously. "We... We got lost, we were going to go to the library, but ......" she anxiously explained why she was here.
"Miss Granger, take it easy, I understand." Dumbledore looked at her with a smile that I understood. Hermione blushed.
"Headmaster, I think you've misunderstood......" McGoth felt like a spark in Hermione's eyes that would scorch him if he didn't speak again.
"Oh? Let's talk about it. Dumbledore looked at him.
"We can't find the stairs to go back, the stairs are gone." Mygoth dodged his eyes, there was no way, whoever knew what he had just seen in the mirror would see him as a more terrifying being than Voldemort.
"I see." Dumbledore said softly.
"yes, that's it." Hermione hastened to speak.
"This is the Mirror of Eris, and it will show you the deepest and strongest desires of your heart!" Dumbledore looked in the mirror and spoke.
"I see, I said how did I see that I have so many magic books, it turns out that that's what I want the most."
"Yes, Miss Granger's eagerness is enviable."
"Envy?" Hermione looked at him quizzically.
Dumbledore didn't explain, and looked at McGoss.
"Mr. Will, are you interested in satisfying the curiosity of an old man like me?"
Before McGoth could speak, Hermione said in a mocking tone, "What he saw was that he had taken six wives." What a pervert. ”
"Oh? It looks like Mr. Will's wish may come true. ”
"Mr. Headmaster, what are you ......?"
"Miss Granger, I'm just kidding, you don't have to be so nervous."
"I... I... I didn't..."
"Alright, I think you should go back to rest, there's another day's class tomorrow, follow me, I'll take you back to the Gryffindor common room, but don't come out too late when you don't figure out the order of the stairs."
