Chapter 65: Fredden, the Elven Prisoner
As night fell, an eerie cold wind blew across the Hoglais campus. In the dark herb room, there was a sound of ping-pong pounding.
A dozen jars of potions of potion staggered on the table, as if they were about to fall down at any moment, rolling down to the ground together.
A bare bulging head emerged from under the table, rummaging through the herb room, its dry palm skewing the neat jar.
When it saw the label attached to the jar from the herb room, and with its long, pointed ears hanging down, it hurriedly ran over and grabbed the jar in its hand, and the corners of its mouth almost drooled.
Hoglais's Herb Room - Except for the occasional arrival of students who are often sick, it is almost surrounded by darkness and dead silence, and most of the people who pass by here come and go in a panic every time.
"Freddenโ"
There was a soft sound of footsteps in the darkness.
A man wearing a face mask and a large brown trench coat appeared behind Fredden.
Fredden's arms were as dry as firewood, his eyes were as bright as two light bulbs, and his greenish-brown skin looked eerie in the night.
It heard the voice, and a frightened expression appeared, and the corners of its grinning mouth emitted a hostile aura towards the trench coat man.
"Do you think you can run away?" The man in the trench coat said to it, "Hiding in Hoglais is not a clever act. โ
"You, you're here." Fredden said in surprise as he looked at the man in the trench coat and stepped back as he spoke.
"Leave without saying hello to me, Freden, you're testing my patience." The trench coat man said.
Moments later, Fredden knocked over a small jar on the table, and as he fell to the ground, the man in the trench coat walked briskly towards it and grabbed it by the arm.
Fredden exclaimed and quickly shut his mouth.
It saw him look at itself condescendingly with a pair of vicious eyes, as vicious, warning, and conspiracy as he had been in the prison of the Elven Ministry.
"Ah, what do you want. I, I don't want to be caught. Fredon said in a begging tone, its legs were weak, and it was directly slumped on the ground, and it was powerless to resist.
"The affairs of the Elven Ministry need you, and you are doing a bad thing for me to leave at this time." The man in the trench coat scolded in a low voice.
"Oh, I ...... I was wrong. Fredden said in frustration, as if he had just escaped from his cage and was about to be taken back again, and he was terrified.
"If you're not happy to stay with me, I'll find a suitable day to let you go." Said the man in the trench coat.
"What do you think, Freden?" He asked with a smile.
Freden knew that he couldn't let himself go so easily, and he struggled to squeeze out a smile, and when he looked up and saw a smile on the corner of the trench coat's man's mouth, he didn't dare to resist at all, and made a look of extreme obedience.
"That genius magician's child has come to Hoglais." The man in the trench coat said, "I don't want him to escape again this time, his presence will hinder our plans and cause a lot of trouble......
"What? You, you mean that genius magician who can train dragons, cards, cardsโ" Fredon stammered.
"Cassie Jr. I hope you'll be able to come in handy this time," the trench coat man said to Freden, "Understand?" โ
"Oh! Cassie's child ...... "How dare Fredon say a word of rebuttal, and he quickly expresses his attitude in a submissive tone, "He must not be let go." โ
The trench coat man let go of it. He turned to look out the window, with his back to Fredden, "Go and help me keep an eye on him and report him to me every day." After three months, you'll be free. โ
The fear on Fredden's face slowly faded away, replaced by a desire to survive. Freedom is what it has always wanted to be fulfilled, even if it is the loss of life.
"You, what you said is true?" Fredden seemed to be still immersed in surprise and trance, and his face was full of excitement, and he looked at the man in the trench coat expectantly, waiting for his answer.
"Are you questioning me?" As the trench-coat man turned around and took two steps closer to Fredden, he muttered, "Cassie Littler won five major championships in his youth, and I don't want his kids to be better than him." Do you understand? โ
"Maybe you're worrying too much......" Fredden reminded disdainfully, as he saw the trench-coat man turn away again, turning his face sideways, and snorting in his nose, his voice full of jealousy.
"Jerry Jr. โ remember the name, he's a stumbling block in our plans." The trench coat man emphasized.
"It's just a nobody's name, I don't know what you're worried about, what an ordinary name Jerry Jr. is!"
The trench coat man motioned for it to stop, his lips moving: "Fredden, don't mess things up for me, keep an eye on Jerry Xiaoer, if he has any unusual behavior, report to me immediately." โ
"I, how do I find you, find you, aren't you going to arrest me back, in case, Jerry Xiaoer, there is something unusual, I need you, when you appear, I, how can I find you." Fredon said with a shudder.
"My men have entered Hoglas," said the trench-coat man, with an eerie smirk, "Three months ago, Polk hired a one-eyed gardener for Hoglas. โ
He paused, "Just find him something, and he'll tell me the whole story." Fredden, you know what I mean? He stressed heavily.
"I know, I know. I don't understand, you, why didn't you take me back, it took me, a little bit of a surprise. Fredden said ecstatically.
"I'm helping you, Fredden, I'm different from those guys in the Elven Ministry, I sympathize with your plight, I know what those guys in the Elven Ministry did to you, do you want to be captured by them again?" The trench coat man asked.
"No, no, I don't want to be caught." Fredden said immediately, pursing his thin upper lip, trying to figure out why he could smile when the man in the trench coat sympathized with him.
If it really sympathized with the plight of an elven prisoner who had just escaped from prison, it would have wept with grief!
Fredden slowly straightened up and bowed to the trench-coated man, and then it began to puff its head in excitement.
"Loyalty is the cure for you, Fredon, it's been a long time since this herb room has been taken care of, and it's foolish to look for a cure for your problems."
After the trench coat man finished speaking, he took an agate green medicine bottle out of the pocket of his trench coat and handed it to Fredden.
As if he had received a freedom notice, Freden excitedly and trembled as he took the vial from the man in the trench coat.
"If you take it for three months, your problems will improve, but if you have a little disagreement," the man in the trench coat warned the silent Freden, "by the third month, the first 'punishment spell' will work." โ
"What, what, the Punishment Charm?" Fredon muttered, watching the trench coat man show his hideous smile, his laughter was silent, but it was the most terrifying and insidious of all.
"As long as you're loyal enough, the first punishment spell will never work on you." The trench-robed man emphasized, his left hand grabbed Fredden, and his right palm formed a claw, and a spell in his palm slammed into Fredden's bumpy head.
With a thud, Fredden fell backwards, almost fainting, and it curled up in the corner, and the little trust it had had in the trench coat had vanished.
"Keep an eye on Jerry Jr. Jerry in the boys' dormitory No. 7."
As soon as the man in the trench coat finished speaking, two voices came from outside the herb room: "Jerry, hurry up, I can't stand it, I'm sure it's the problem with the fruit, but I only took one bite!" โ
"What fruit? Neil, you hold on a little longer. โ
Jerry helped Neil to the herb room, he seemed to be lost and couldn't find the herb room, and at the same time, he heard two hurried footsteps disappear behind him.
Neil yelled, "I remember, the herb room is over there!" Damn it, Jerry, look at my memory! โ
Jerry grabbed Neil, and they both turned around at the same time.
A dizzying flash of flashlight flashed.
Jerry's eyes ached: there was a man standing at the end of the hallway, with a flashlight in her hand, shining at him and Neil.
"Hey! Who? "It's a woman's voice.
The woman walked towards Jerry and Neil.
"It's Professor Arnold, I'm saved, Jerry!"
Neil suddenly forgot the pain in his abdomen, and he almost cheered with excitement, and Jerry was anxious to keep his feet on his feet.
"It's us, Professor Arnold!" Neil pressed his hand to his abdomen, squeezed out an excited smile, and greeted the oncoming woman.
"Professor Arnold!" Jerry and Neil said in unison.
Neil walked unsteadily, and when he saw Professor Arnold, his hair curled on end with nervousness and excitement.
"How did you two end up here?" Arnold looked at Neil, she turned off the flashlight, her eyes fell on Jerry's body, and a pair of thin eyebrows frowned slightly, "Jerry Jer?" โ
"Yes, yes, Professor Arnold." Jerry remembered that he hadn't used her magic attack, and his heart immediately felt empty.
"Is anyone sick, and what are you doing here?"
"Yes, it's Neil, he's sick to his stomach, he's leaking and throwing up seven or eight timesโ" Jerry was still finished.
"Hey, hey, alright Jerry, sometimes it's not good to be too honest, man, can you give me a little face in front of Professor Arnold......" Neil whispered more and more.
Professor Arnold couldn't help but laugh, she glanced at the sky and said, "The weather has been unpredictable lately, and many students have been sick, even Professors Wood King and Professor Dridge have suffered greatly." Her tone grew serious.
"Like I said - I want you to get in as soon as you can, Neil Kaka, is there anything wrong with your stomach other than your stomach?" Professor Arnold asked patiently.
"Besides his belly, and his mouthโ"
Jerry's words were interrupted by Neil again: "My mouth is so dry, Professor Arnold, I don't know what's going on, my back is always sore." Here, and here, it all hurts. โ
Jerry shrugged his shoulders helplessly at Neil's exaggerated symptoms, and he saw Professor Arnold's face with an indescribable smile that seemed to be trying to hold back her laughter.
"Professor Arnold, I, we need your help very badly." Neil gave Jerry a look.
"I'd love to serve the students, but you have to tell me if there's anything else to do but come here to find herbs?" Professor Arnold had a tentative look in his eyes.
"Oops, my stomach is starting to hurt again, Jerry, hold me on, Professor Arnold, where is the herb for diarrhea, it's going to hurt me, oops-"
Neil winks at Jerry, Professor Arnold smiles helplessly, and she eventually leads them to the herb room.
"Actually, no one has been in this herb room for a long time. Neil Kaka, it's not a very smart way for you to choose to come here to find medicine, the new 'Potions Palace' has been built for more than half a year, and it has just been put into use in the last day or two. โ
