(4) Precautions for massage therapy

In order to achieve a healthy, effective and satisfying goal, the surgeon should pay attention to the following issues before and during the treatment.

(1) Tuina massage therapy is generally a method of mutual health care for oneself or family members. Therefore, for common diseases, massage therapy should be carried out under the premise of a clear diagnosis, and no missed diagnosis or even misdiagnosis should be made.

(2) Master the common meridians, acupuncture points and operation techniques, so as to obtain the acupoints relatively accurately, and the techniques are relatively standardized and correct.

(3) Master the routine of self-care and massage therapy, and selectively operate and treat massage therapy for common diseases according to the introduction in this book, not a cure-all.

(4) The number of treatments can be from less to more, and the strength and strength of massage therapy can be gradually increased from light, or based on the recipient's own feelings, and the acupuncture points taken by massage therapy can gradually increase from less. And during massage therapy or self-massage, the whole body should be relaxed, the spirit and muscles should not be tense, and the body position should be comfortable.

(5) Pregnant women are generally not suitable for massage, especially the shoulder well, Hegu, Sanyinjiao, Kunlun and other acupoints and the chest, abdomen, lumbosacral region, etc. Patients with infectious diseases should not be treated with massage therapy; Ulcerative skin diseases, open wounds, and mental patients should also not do massage; Extreme fatigue, hunger, drinking alcohol and long-term illness, physical weakness, unable to withstand the lightest manipulation, should not be massaged.

(6) For patients with nausea and vomiting, the best technique is in a clockwise direction; The kidney area of the waist should not be slapped with equal weight to avoid damage to the kidneys; For traumatic pain, in the absence of a fracture, do not use massage techniques; Acute injuries should also not be treated with massage techniques.

(7) The strength and time of the massage technique should be just right, if the technique is too light, the therapeutic effect will not be achieved, and if the technique is too heavy, it will cause adverse reactions. For example, if children have diarrhea, it can be cured with 1 time of manual massage; If the technique is too light, it should be massaged 5~6 times, or even longer; If the technique is too heavy, it is easy to cause constipation. Generally, the treatment time is 30~40 minutes, once a day or every other day.

(8) The operator's nails should be trimmed well to keep the edges of the nails neat, smooth and rounded. Excessively long nails can easily puncture the patient's skin, causing infection and even disfigurement. The nails are too short and it is not convenient to stimulate the acupuncture points, and the effect of treatment cannot be achieved.

(9) The operator's hands should be kept clean. Hands should be cleaned between two patients to prevent cross-infection and disease transmission; In winter, the surgeon should warm his hands before treatment.

(10) The surgeon should be a healthy person, otherwise it will become a source of infection or a transmission route for some diseases. The room should be kept clean and well ventilated, especially during the summer months. In winter, the indoor temperature should be maintained to prevent the occurrence of colds.

(11) People who are extremely stressed or overtired should receive acupressure treatment or health care after the tension or fatigue has been eliminated.

(12) In the process of massage treatment, if it is found that the recipient has dizziness, chest tightness, nausea, vomiting, palpitation, cold limbs, sweating, paleness, or the pain is particularly obvious, or even unbearable, you can acupressure the root of the nail, and open the doors and windows at the same time to make the indoor air more circulating. When conditions permit, patients can be given a small amount of sugar, boiled water, candy, cakes and other desserts to help patients recover.

(13) When performing acupressure therapy on the upper back, the force should not be too great, and the patient can have temporary respiratory arrest. At this time, it is necessary to immediately gently pat the shoulders, back, neck, head and other parts to help the patient relieve.

(14) For patients with serious conditions, it is necessary to appropriately cooperate with drugs and other therapies to avoid delaying the condition; Those who are in critical condition should be immediately sent to the hospital for treatment.
