(22) Extrinsic perceptual back pain

Patients often have a history of external sensitivity to the cold, which is manifested by back pain, muscle stiffness, and a feeling of heaviness, which worsens when cold and is relieved by activity or warmth. There is often no obvious fixed tender point, but tenderness may occur when the affected muscle is pressed hard or pushed with the fingers.

Its pathology is not very clear at present, and it can lead to muscle fascial inflammation due to upper respiratory tract infection, rheumatism, etc., with local tissue fluid exudation, adhesions, and increased number of muscle cell nuclei; It can also cause muscle spasm and pain due to inflammation of the fascia. X-rays are usually unremarkable.
