(48) Facial paralysis
Facial paralysis refers to paralysis of one side of the facial muscles and loss of expression muscle activity, also known as facial nerve palsy. It can occur in people of all ages, but it is more common in young adults. The onset of this disease is rapid, and it is simple and the muscles and muscles on one side of the cheek are relaxed, and there are no symptoms such as hemiplegia and confusion.
The onset is sudden, and it is usually found after waking up in the morning. The patient's face is stiff, the eyelids cannot be closed, and the mouth and eyes are slanted. The patient's facial muscles are relaxed, the corners of the mouth are pulled to the unaffected side, the nasolabial folds become shallow, the speech leaks, salivation, and water leakage when rinsing.

(1) The patient is usually in a supine position, and the surgeon first gently rubs the patient's face on both sides with the palms of both hands, relaxes the muscles, and repeats the operation for 3~5 minutes, as shown in this figure (1).
(2) The surgeon uses the thumbs and fingertips of both hands as the focus point, and repeatedly operates on the patient's Yintang, Jingming, Sibai, Chengwee, Chengpulp, and cheek car for 3~5 minutes, as shown in this figure (2).
(3) The middle finger tip of one hand hooks the corner of the patient's mouth on the affected side of the face, pulls upward, and rubs the face of the healthy side of the patient with the palm of the other hand for 3~5 minutes, as shown in this figure (3).
(4) In line with the principle of "closing the grain with the face and mouth", rub the patient's grain and column acupoints with the thumb for 3~5 minutes, see Figure (4).
2. Precautions
(1) There are many and complex causes of facial paralysis, and the diagnosis of central or peripheral facial paralysis should be clarified.
(2) Facial paralysis generally occurs abruptly and suddenly, and should be treated in a timely and early manner, and the earlier the treatment time, the better the effect.
(3) Patients with facial paralysis caused by cold should pay attention to reducing direct facial blowing in summer, and wear masks in the cold season to avoid aggravation caused by repeated wind chills.
(4) If it is caused by viral infection, antiviral treatment should be cooperated with during the above treatment. And pay attention to properly strengthen nutrition and enhance physical fitness.
