(8) Subluxation of the radial cephalic head

Subluxation of the radial cephalic cephalic is usually caused by an external force that causes the radial cephalic cephalic to leave the radial annular ligament. In children, the radial head is not fully developed, and the radial ring ligament is loose. When the elbow is stretched and the forearm is rotated, the radial head can protrude from the annular ligament, causing pain and impaired mobility. Most of the authors are children under the age of 4 with a history of forearm traction or rotation. The child is crying or nervous, the upper limb on the affected side is drooping, the forearm is in the pronation position, and the upper limb on the affected side is afraid to move. After reduction, the affected limb can be moved immediately. The patient has significant pain in the small head of the radius.

1. Methods and steps

See Figure 2-2-8.

(1) The child is seated, the surgeon is face to face with the child, and the right thumb is pressed and rubbed on the Hegu acupoint on the affected side of the child for 1~3 minutes. The technique should be gentle and the movement should be gentle, see Figure (1).

(2) The position of the child is as above. The surgeon presses the Quchi acupoint on the affected side with the thumb of one hand, and the remaining four fingers support the elbow joint of the affected side. Hold the wrist of the affected side with the other hand, slowly rotate the child's forearm, and then slowly flex the elbow of the affected side to the maximum extent, as shown in this figure (2).

(3) After reduction, gently extend and flex the upper limb on the affected side. If the child can lift the affected limb on his own, the reduction will be successful, see (3) and (4) in this figure.

2. Precautions

(1) This disease is mostly caused by improper posture and force of the upper limbs of the child. The upper limbs of the child should be stretched with the armpit supported.

(2) The technique of reduction should be gentle, gentle and steady, and should not be rough and violent.

(3) Avoid pulling the affected limb after reduction to prevent re-dislocation.

(4) The child can wear cardigan clothes. Wear the affected side first, then the unaffected side; Take off the healthy side first, and then the affected side to facilitate recovery.

(5) If you cannot reduce the position on your own, you should immediately seek medical attention and consult a specialist for treatment.
