Chapter 33: The Prayer of Light
The orange sun shone across the southeast of Sekorid, in the eastern woods of Kesaibella City, and a red figure flickered rapidly.
She was like a red bolt of lightning.
If anyone can keep up with her speed, then they will be surprised to find that this is the chief mage from the Magic Society of Xebella City, Leandra Bidrins, the Invoker of Light.
She was dressed in a fiery red mage robe, with two exaggerated shoulder sleeves that were bent outward, and a fiery hood on her back that was fluffy with the wind.
Paired with the long flowing fire-colored hair, it looks like a bright flame.
Only the golden triangular magic crystal necklace on her chest showed her identity as a light law.
From the collar down, two bright gold edges stretched down the middle seam of the robe, revealing her perfect figure at a glance.
The mage's underwear was frighteningly scarce, with its towering snow-white breasts and thin waist looming.
She floated in the air, looking around as she flew.
Leandra's face was full of helplessness, and her brow furrowed slightly.
Just two days ago, the Priests' Mission from Itnair was assassinated in Sekorid, and the Vice-Priest Saiya died tragically, which immediately alarmed the entire city of Xeibela, and I am afraid that it had also reached the imperial capital.
This incident is likely to become the fuse of the war between the two countries.
It would be a terrible disaster for the city of Xebela, and even more so for the magicians of Xebela.
When Leandra heard the news, she thought the sky was falling.
Fortunately, things are still turning around.
After them—
It was mainly the investigation of Jonde Peg of the Dragonwings, who was surprised to find that there were still survivors in that group of missions.
The incident was immediately reported to the Magic Association, and Leandra was pulled out of the warm bed, and a search for survivors began.
Although she had a premonition that the so-called survivors were likely to have died or were Assassins herself, she had to stay true to her duties as the Chief Magister.
During the two-day search, there were two things that sparked the curiosity of the light-seeker -
Jered Peg's knights turned almost the entire city of Xeibela upside down, and the search area expanded from the center of the city to more than two hundred miles, but still found nothing.
And the Magic Association is even more so, searching for magic, and the magic eagle that was sent out, but no trace of any strange person was found in two days.
It would be forgivable to say that the survivors of Itnael were actually unable to be perceived by magic because of their deaths, but it would be incredible that they all disappeared along with the horrific group of assassins.
Leandra thought of two possibilities, but each was enough goosebumps to startle her body—
First, there are extremely powerful mages among the assassins, powerful enough to interfere with the search of the entire Magic Association, and even so powerful that even the invokers of light are blinded.
But with her self-confidence, there are no more than 10 people in this world who can do this.
Second, the Assassins came from within, namely the city itself. However, this is even more terrifying than the previous possibility, and with Leandra's intelligence and political consciousness, she has no idea what this is doing, and if it is really from Lord Leona, the truth will be revealed, or it will be buried, which will only be harmful to the city of Xebela.
As the administrator of the city of Xebela, Lord Leona fears that she will be sued and guillotined.
Is this really what she wants? Leona-sama is only afraid that she is crazy to make such a desperate move, right?
A look of despair appeared in Leandra's eyes, and she shook her head.
After that, using the power of the entire Knight Guard and the Magic Association to do a pointless search is really something that can be hidden?
Leandra couldn't figure this out at all.
So, according to her previous style of acting, since she can't figure it out, she will throw it aside first, and then do things in a way that she understands-
So far, she has taken action according to the first line of thought.
First, she found faint traces of magic in the White Tower.
Yes, extremely weak.
Before that, the group of Itnarians was performing some strange magic ritual, of course, it was only her guess, if the magic circle came from the Assassins, then the White Tower would not be intact.
And there will inevitably be a lot of traces of magical battles to be found in it.
Actually, it wasn't, so she could attribute the magical power to the vice-priest Saiya.
After that, following the traces of magic, she found that on the ground of the White Tower, there was once an unoriented teleportation array.
Yes, a teleportation array that was deliberately concealed by someone, if it weren't for her, the Prayer of Light, and one of the three major Magisters of Sekorid, she wouldn't have discovered it at all.
The original magic circle no longer exists, and I don't know who erased it with magical power, and that person must be a powerful magician.
This also explains why there are survivors, and why the knight guards don't search for them-
She or they, escaping from the non-directional teleportation array.
Leandra spent a lot of energy on this, because the biggest feature of the non-directional teleportation array is that the location of your teleportation through it is not fixed every time, and even if she restores the magic array, she will not be able to track the other party's movements smoothly.
So, everything is back to square one.
And she had to be like other inferior magicians, through action, through magic search, through magic eyes to search.
This process was not easier than expected, and after two days and one night of exploration, the prayer of the light reluctantly found that there was still no clue.
However, when she finds a slain oyster in the eastern woods, the Lightseeker's eyes suddenly light up and she captures some interesting information.
The demon worm was killed by the wind arrow, and when she examined the wound, she found an intriguing strange phenomenon-
On that smooth and neat wound, two magical powers remained.
One of them was a little weaker, not enough to cut the head of the demon dragon.
But there's another one—
Powerful, neat, and full of the smell of death.
Apparently from the hands of a mage who surpasses the [quality] level.
Even because the battle was so fierce, the mage who covered up the magic circle had not had time to completely erase the remaining traces of magic on the snake's body.
Judging by the traces of the fight at the scene, there were at least 4 people.
However, this incident made the Prayer of Light even more suspicious, and she couldn't understand at all that if these people were really survivors of Itnair, why didn't they go directly south of Kesaibella City, so that they could reach the fortress of the north wind faster and more directly.
Instead, she thanklessly chose to face east, which is the direction she is now chasing.
Of course, there is another possibility -
The Itnaires were too clever to realize that the Dragonwings Jede Peg would be chasing after them along the south, so they made a detour to avoid their search.
There is also the greatest possibility, that is, it was not the Itnerians who killed the oysters, but the Assassins.
Until now, the Lightseeker had not been able to determine whether the target she was chasing was the survivors of Itnaire or the assassins who killed the Priests' Mission.
But no matter which one it is, for her current situation, it contains great danger -
Leandra believed that there was a powerful magician waiting for her ahead.
