How scary is a complete tear of the patellar ligament?

A complete tear (or rupture) of the patellar ligament is a serious and disabling injury that usually requires surgery to fully return the knee to normal activity. After suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon, the player's injury is extremely painful and the knee is swollen, and the player cannot apply any pressure to the knee and cannot straighten the knee. ”

According to the American College of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the patellar ligament connects the kneecap and tibia and plays a key role in the normal movement of the legs. The patellar ligaments work in tandem with the muscles in the front of the thighs (quadriceps) to keep the legs upright. Anyone can injure the patellar ligament, and it is more common for middle-aged people to have a torn patellar ligament when running or jumping.

Recovery from a ruptured patellar ligament is as difficult as an injury like a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the knee. Typically, it takes at least six weeks for a person who has suffered this injury to bend their knees, six months before they can start running, and it usually takes six months to twelve months to recover. However, the good news is that a rupture of the patellar ligament can be fully recovered and poses relatively few risks to the player's future.

But there have been a few cases in history where a player has experienced a ruptured Achilles tendon that has declined, without exception, and most of them have had their athletic life shortened. Perhaps, transformation can also prolong careers.

When Dong Fangzhuo was injured on the court, the injury was definitely not so serious, but he insisted on continuing to play, and the injury became even more serious.

After the game, he directly built up crutches, and the injury completely worsened.

So Saiyang was also very shocked.

"I'm amazed that you can still walk......"

"It's a medical miracle for sure......"

Perhaps, miracles will continue to happen? We need to be optimistic, not pessimistic. ”

Dong Fangzhuo seemed to comfort everyone.

Soon, the Real Madrid team doctor also came here, and listened carefully to Saiyang's examination report, his brows became more and more wrinkled, obviously, he came to check Dong Fangzhuo's condition on behalf of Real Madrid officials, and he also felt very unoptimistic.

Soon, he was back in Madrid.

"Obviously, this disease is exactly the same as Ronaldo's illness back then."

The team doctor is giving a presentation to the Real Madrid board.

The Real Madrid board of directors and all the senior leaders are here.

There are only two things discussed, Dong Fangzhuo's injury, and Dong Fangzhuo's future at Real Madrid.

"He is almost 30 years old, and he has this disease, and after surgery, it is impossible to return to the original level."

"Just look at Ronnie, although he was still one of the best strikers in the world, he has fallen from aliens to the mortal world."

A high-ranking person suddenly interrupted him:

"Still,"

"But at this time, are we going to abandon a player who has been named the king of the ball?"

'He's done a lot for Real Madrid and we should give him the best support at this difficult time.'

It is said that Real Madrid is inhumane, but it is not absolute.

'I also feel like we should support him and if he goes back to his previous level, he'll still be a trusted member of us.'

Of course, there are those who raise objections.

"No, no, no, I've never seen anyone back at the top, and Ronnie hasn't. This disease, if you are lucky, you will recover after a year, and if you are unlucky, you will be injured again, and you will be completely finished. You know, we have to give Dong at least 50 million euros after tax every year, and a year later, he will be almost 31 years old, why should we take such a big risk? If he's only 25 years old, I think we can wait a year or two. ”

Then, another senior executive gave a more detailed analysis.

'It was a completely different year than this year, we needed the best striker, but now Real Madrid have a lot of talent and there is no shortage of anybody. You can just find a player in the team to replace him. Besides, in the four years in Real Madrid, we are not only Dong one core, Real Madrid can get such outstanding results, it is not the credit of Dong alone, everyone is very important and has made great contributions. And now, with the arrival of Ronaldo, it is actually the best opportunity. ”

"While there's still a good price, let's deal with it quickly."

"But, we all know that his injury is so serious, we can't sell it at a high price?" New ideas were also raised.

"Silly you? High or not high price is only relative, now although the injury is serious, but at least there is hope of recovery, and wait another year, there is no hope, the price is only low and not high. With such a trade-off, is there any hesitation? ”

Everyone looked at the president, Florentino, at the same time.

Florentino was silent, he was listening. He was very satisfied with the speeches made by so many people, and basically his thinking was very clear. He actually weighed everything a long time ago, and he didn't need to listen to other people's opinions at all, just to make an appearance......

He took the frame of his glasses and coughed twice.

"I also tend to shoot as soon as possible."

"But in such a situation, our negotiations are passive, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, who were originally interested in Dong, will definitely not spend a lot of money and risk it, and the only possibility is Manchester United."

"Although Manchester United wants Dong, they will not be wronged."

"We want to sell, but we can't sell cheaply, and we have to facilitate this deal......"

The thoughtful Florentino had already thought about all this.

"We can't delay it for too long, it takes too long, and it is estimated that even Manchester United will lose confidence, so the time for the deal must be fast."

"Let's have a good talk with Mendes and Ferguson!"

The next day, the news of Dong Fangzhuo's serious injury must be unsealable, and all the news about Dong Fangzhuo's serious injury flew all over the world.
