Chapter 150: Merit Payment
Li Wusheng also remembered the elementary school head teacher who asked him to talk about cross talk, and after the cross talk performance was smashed, the head teacher never let Li Wusheng speak again.
However, the head teacher still felt that Li Wusheng should have stage fright in the face of the crowd, so when the class chorus, he was stunned and arranged to be the conductor.
Li Wusheng thought about that incident and thought it was quite interesting, because the conductor was facing away from the audience on stage, and after he became a conductor, he didn't have stage fright at all, and he did it well.
Li Wusheng reflected on his shy attitude in front of others and calmness after others, could it be that he was a little public act in his heart? That's a shame, isn't it......
…… But no matter what, he probably has this virtue, instead of panicking here, it is better to think about how to promote his strengths and avoid his weaknesses.
◇
By the end of May, the festival was in full swing, with the local government funding all the temples and temples in Xinjiang and the three surrounding provinces starting to fast, give food, chant sutras and pray for blessings.
There are also high-ranking people from all over the country who gather at the altar in Ruoqiang, because it is declared that it is only a puja, and the ordinary people and believers in the surrounding areas will also come to join in the fun. Such a special festival is only held once every many years, so it is said that not only people in the industry, but also the government will have big leaders involved.
Of course, there are also unsuspecting people who come to participate in the puja, just want to ask for money or something, and then all the gods and Buddhas worship the statues, as long as they finish worshipping.
The festival lasts for 7749 days, and if you are a participant, you must attend it for at least 7 days, and you will fast for all seven days, regardless of your faith, and all acts of entertainment, killing, adultery, etc., which are offensive to the gods, are forbidden.
It is said that the chief designer of this Pudu Festival was the chief Taoist master sent by the central government, and he became an S-class at the age of 40.
The master designed ten altars in a radius of several hundred kilometers, which exactly presented the pattern of Tai Chi Bagua.
The main altar of Yin and Yang is located 50 kilometers south of the crack, and the eight branch altars are evenly distributed in the corresponding temples of several nearby cities and counties, including three altars for Buddhism, three altars for Taoism, one altar for Trinity and one altar for other sects.
The one-kilometer-radius Yang Altar was transformed from the camp and was covered with various tributes, which were used to worship the gods of all walks of life, sing praises of virtue, and hoped that the gods and goddesses could help Chaodu, and deploy 9 senior doctors.
On the other hand, the altar of the dead and civilians was placed in coffins, and the remains of unidentified bones were piled up in large pits, and incense flowers and candles were spread around the perimeter, hoping that souls from all walks of life could rest in peace, and 6 senior physicians were deployed.
The three mandalas of the Taoist system are the Zhengyi Altar, the Lingbao Altar, and the Quanzhen Altar.
Although there is only one altar in the Trinity Department, the lineup is luxurious and powerful, and many Western countries have sent monks, and even a black choir from North America......
As for the three mandalas of the Buddha system, they are the Great Altar, the Sutra Altar, and the Pure Land Altar.
The altar mainly recites the three classics of "Lengyan", "Fahua" and "Huayan".
The altars mainly recite the scriptures such as "Lianghuang Treasure Confession", "Medicine Master Sutra", "Diamond Sutra", "Golden Light Sutra", "Dafang Yuanjue Sutra", "Sanskrit Net Bodhisattva Precept Sutra" and so on.
The ritual of the Pure Land Altar is much simpler, just recite the "Amitabha Sutra", "Amitayus Sutra", "Amitayus Sutra", "Amitayus Sutra", there are not many scriptures, and it is only recited in the morning and evening, and most of the time it is still chanting Buddha. This is also the reason why the superiors can rest assured that they can hand it over to Li Wusheng.
But Li Wusheng always felt that he, the host of the Pure Land Altar, was a bit ridiculous......
First of all, the Pure Land Altar was arranged in the Nilek Lama Temple on the west bank of Lop Nur, and the people used to cultivate the secrets, but suddenly it became the Pure Land Altar......
Then Li Wusheng saw a group of shirtless lamas every day, and he was very painful, and he looked cold......
Then there is another question, Li Wusheng is not a monk at all, but the presiding officers of the previous altars have to be monks, and they have to wear special robes and hats......
So Li Wusheng wore it like this, and he was young, so many locals regarded him as a living Buddha, and some people were quite polite, nodding and saluting.
Some of the more superstitious people knelt down with tears in their eyes when they saw Li Wusheng, and kept babbling in dialects, and then grabbed Li Wusheng's hand and begged for the top, Li Wusheng was a little uncooperative, so he simply rubbed his head on his hand...... made Li Wusheng very depressed: not mellow at all!
The result is still in the preparation period, Li Wusheng is a little square, and he doesn't dare to go out during the day, okay?
Fortunately, as the time approached, the local armed police also began to station and patrol around, and many staff members were sent to explain various points and schedules to Li Wusheng, which made Li Wusheng feel ashamed, and always felt that he was the most unprofessional one......
In any case, this is a merit given to him by the government. Li Wusheng originally wanted to retreat, but thinking about the merits, he continued to do it.
Since ancient times, the merit value of the puja is about 7:2:1, that is, for each soul that has been successfully surpassed, the person who attends the puja will receive seven merits, the relatives of the participants will receive 20%, and the person who presides over the puja will receive one success.
It seems that the host has a small share, but there is only one person in the host, so his 10% is 10% of the merit value of the entire altar, and the participants can only get 70% of their share, so the merit of the host is actually the most special. Of course, this is also a purely numerical comparison, and all those who participate in the festival will naturally receive an endless stream of blessings.
The fact that the Nilek Lama Temple has become a Pure Land Altar has spread all over the nearby towns and villages, and the rumors of the "Living Buddha Li" are not a matter of a day or two, as the date approaches, there is a long queue at the Nilek Temple every day, and almost all the locals want to take a look at this "Living Buddha Li", if you can touch it, it would be even better.
From the perspective of psychological explanation, religion is a huge collection of illusions, although everyone always talks about feudal superstition or something, but if it really comes to things, it is really difficult to say whether the mentality will change. It seems that they don't worry about food and clothing, but they are more or less depressed in their hearts. In their eyes, if you kowtow to a Buddha statue, you can ask for something, so why not do such a cheap thing?
In the same way, if the head asks Li Wusheng to make things better, then naturally it will not be in vain......
Surprisingly, however, when the festival began, there were fewer people.
Because I heard that after reciting Buddha for at least seven days, I weighed it, some had to go to work, some had to take a baby, and some had TV series to chase.
