Volume 4: The Eventful Years Chapter 198: Rules [II]

It was obvious that the group of people was a group of monks, and the treasure and sword that they had just bought at the bazaar hung from their waists, and they were holding a fat and strong black leopard in front of them! This beast was so terrifying that as soon as it entered the courtyard, it scared everyone in the courtyard away. Even the horses in the stable were frightened, and if they hadn't been chained, they would have scattered and fled, and now they all trembled and whined.

Those people seem to be regular customers, and when they come to this inn, they directly ask for a separate courtyard. But the inn was full. When the boss saw Baoyu, it was like seeing a savior, so he hurriedly came over and begged in a low voice: "This little gentleman, can you give up the small courtyard to those gentlemen? They have a fierce beast and will scare the guests away." As for your puppy, it doesn't matter, can I give you my own room where I sleep at night?"

Baoyu saw that the boss was really embarrassed, so he waved his hand and said: "It's okay, just give my small courtyard to these guests with spirit beasts, you don't have to give up your room, I'll find another inn." ”

The innkeeper was very grateful. And said that yesterday's room money is forgotten. Baoyu insisted on paying the bill, and he didn't want to take advantage of this little advantage, so he left the inn with Xiaotian and went to find another place. It turned out that all the inns in Hongjin City were full, and the small courtyard he lived in yesterday was still empty because the boss took the opportunity to increase the price, and the room was too expensive.

Baoyu had to go to the post station again, but the room in the post station was also crowded. On this cold day on the plateau, Baoyu sat in the corner of the post yard and spent the night.

How could there be so many people in the Red Brocade City? The reason is related to Wufu Hill. Every year on the winter solstice, Wufuqiu will open its doors to recruit miscellaneous disciples. Whoever is able to follow a designated path and climb that designated mountain. and is willing to stay as a handyman, Wufuqiu will not refuse.

But this so-called miscellaneous disciples are not the official descendants of Wufu Hill, they live on several peaks on the periphery, and they have to do all kinds of chores on weekdays. If you have succeeded in cultivation and passed the test. If you can enter the middle peak, that is, the main peak of Wufu Hill, you can learn swordsmanship, and you will hope to become a personal disciple of Wufu Qiu and even Jiansha himself.

The various cultivation and inheritance sects in Bayuan have strict conditions for recruiting disciples. Because the energy of the Venerable Elder is limited, the resources of the sect are even more limited. It is impossible to instruct and train too many people, and it is not something that anyone who wants to worship can worship. In most cases, it is often the master who selects and guides the successor in various ways.

In fact, Wufuqiu is the same. It is very difficult to become a formal disciple of its sect, and it must be seen by those sect elders. But Wufuqiu seems to give everyone hope in such a way, and the mountain gate will be opened once a year, and the mountain will only be closed during the decades of internal chaos and chaos between the Bayuan Five countries.

The designated mountain is called Dengjing Peak, and the designated mountain road is called Kaishan Road. As long as you climb it within the specified time, you can stay in Wufu Qiu to cultivate, and one day you can hope to enter the main peak and even become a disciple of the sect. This has attracted countless people in Ba Yuan who want to apprentice to the master and cultivate but can't, but have all kinds of cultivation dreams.

However, with the conditions at that time, it was not easy to cross thousands of mountains and rivers to Wufu Hill, the deepest part of Bayuan's southern Xinjiang. Lingbao had this idea before, but in the end he couldn't make the trip, it was too far to reach Wufu Hill from the village where he lived, almost the whole of Ba Yuan, and he didn't know the way. For many ordinary villagers in Ba Yuan, the distant Wufu Qiu is just a legend.

However, there are always people who can get here by various means, and before the winter solstice every year, Red Brocade City is the last stop they stop and gather. At this moment, there are still more than 20 days before the winter solstice this year, but it is impossible to calculate the exact distance of long-distance travel, and many people try to arrive in advance.

Wufuqiu does not refuse anyone to climb the mountain path every winter solstice, even if it is a member of the demon clan, and it does not matter whether the climber is a monk from another sect. Therefore, at this time of year, there are also many monks from various sects who come to see the excitement, which can be regarded as an eye-opening to see the world.

There are also many monks who will climb the mountain with everyone, not to worship under the Wufuqiu Gate, but to try their own cultivation, and after returning to show off to their fellow disciples, they finally did not join in the fun. Because the trail is notoriously difficult, there are many climbers every year, but few people succeed in the end.

Some people come to climb the mountain to seek art, some people come to travel and try, some people come to see the excitement, and it also attracts a lot of caravans to do business, so there are so many people gathered in the Red Brocade City, and there will be more and more when the winter solstice is approaching.

Baoyu spent the night in the courtyard that day, of course he would not freeze with his cultivation, and he was not the only one sitting on the wall in the courtyard in the middle of the night, and there was also a group of monks who had just arrived in Hongjin City that day. In the middle of the night, everyone lit a fire and chatted, and the most talked about was of course the opening of the mountain gate of Wufuqiu this year, and everyone was ready to see the excitement, and many of them also wanted to climb the mountain in person, such as Baoyu.

The mountain god once introduced to Baoyu, and these monks also talked about the rules of Wufu Hill to open the mountain gate every year. As long as you climb the mountain road and are willing to stay as a miscellaneous disciple, you can stay on the mountain. As a large sect, Wufuqiu also has all kinds of mundane affairs to take care of, of course, it needs people to work, and the miscellaneous disciples are not paid for their work, but Wufuqiu is responsible for food and lodging, and he is responsible for dressing and warming, and eating and eating.

At the beginning, no one taught them to practice the secret method of supernatural powers, but in addition to work, someone taught them to practice the strength of opening the mountain, and whether they could practice it or not depended on their own kung fu, and no one would force or supervise them. If you feel that life in the mountains is too hard, or if you feel that your cultivation is hopeless, you can go down the mountain and leave by yourself by saying hello, and no one will force you to stay.

In fact, most of the people who successfully reach the peak every year are monks from various sects who come to join in the fun, because after all, they have supernatural powers and cultivation, which can be regarded as a big gathering of fellow practitioners, but these people will not stay as miscellaneous disciples.

For these tourists who come to see the excitement, Wufu Hill does not take it, but it also does not provide accommodation and food, so they can play on the mountain for three days at most, and when it is almost enough to visit, they can go down the mountain on their own.

The area around Hongjin City is located on the plateau, and then climb such a high peak, and catch up with the winter solstice every year, which is the season when the cold wind is biting and the snow is like cutting. Even the monks of various sects will not stay in the mountains for a long time to find themselves cold and hungry, and usually go down the mountain after turning around, which is regarded as a kind of experience.

As for the miscellaneous disciples who stayed in the mountains, of course, the living environment was very difficult, but as long as they completed the daily chores, they would have no worries about food and clothing. There are a total of five peaks in Wufu Hill, and the four outer peaks are connected by rope bridges on the clouds, so the miscellaneous disciples in the mountains can usually walk back and forth. And each of these four peaks has a long rope leading to the main peak in the middle, the cultivation place of the true sect disciples.

On each of the four outer peaks, in front of the long rope leading to the main peak, there was a boulder with a sword stuck in it. If a miscellaneous disciple wants to go to the main peak to learn the arts, he must pull out this sword, then cut through the clouds and mist in front of him, and walk over with a long rope on his feet.

And Baoyu learned more about the inside story, which was introduced by the mountain god and also mentioned by the general of the Northern Dao clan. If you want to pull out that sword and split the clouds and mist that obscure the road, you must not only refine the mountain-opening strength, but also cultivate the martial arts. Because Wufuqiu had rules, it was not allowed to use any other magical spells at that time. With this one requirement, most of the monks of the various sects who mixed in could be stopped.

In fact, Baoyu has seen many people who have cultivated martial arts, and many of them are not good people, such as nearly ten masked sergeants who have practiced martial arts in the military formation that attacked Baixi Village. And when he was in his wild hometown, the Qingshan patriarch once concentrated the strong men of the two clans of Lu Village and Huahai Village to cultivate the strength of the mountain, and about fifty people practiced it, and more than ten of them cultivated martial arts.

It doesn't sound like this kind of thing is difficult, but as far as Baoyu knows, in an environment where there is a lack of supervision and persecution, it is simply too difficult to cultivate the spirit of opening the mountain and even cultivating martial arts on one's own! It requires not only extraordinary physique and talent, but also perseverance and determination beyond the imagination of ordinary people.

Therefore, most of the people who have become pioneers are soldiers in the barracks. They live in a collective, obey strict orders, and persist in battle drills all year round, and the commander will also select soldiers with strong physiques to specialize in cultivating the strength of the mountain. In an environment like a military camp, you can practice with your companions every day, and you have orders to urge you not to relax, and only those who have this talent can practice.

If you are out of that environment, such as practicing at home, and you are really tired and don't want to move, you will be slack off after a little rest, and you need to work twice as hard to make up for it. If you slack off too many times, you will never be able to train to open the mountain, and no one will give orders anyway, and you will not be punished and reprimanded for being lazy occasionally.

Moreover, in ordinary life, people always have other things to do, and the slightest hectic situation may delay their cultivation.

Among the people Baoyu met after leaving the wilderness, only one person was not in the military camp but trained himself to open the mountain, that is, the strong man Lingbao who had fought side by side with him in Baixi Village. As for the general of the Beidao clan, he also practiced in the military camp to open the mountain, and after disarming, he went to Wufuqiu and cultivated Wuding Gong, and returned to Bamuro Country to join the army again.

As for the people in Baoyu's hometown, the situation was different, they were trained more rigorously than ordinary military camps, and their temperament was extremely simple. As long as the Qingshan Patriarch gives an order, everyone will strictly implement it and will not slack off in the slightest.

Wufuqiu is not a military camp, and those miscellaneous disciples still have to work every day, cultivating on their own for the rest of the time, but no one persecuts or supervises them. In this case, if you want to practice the strength of the mountain and cultivate to the realm of martial arts, it is not simple. Therefore, there are many people who climb the mountain every year, but there are very few people who can successfully climb to the peak, and even fewer people can finally enter the main peak to learn swords.

As for the cultivators of the various sects, they have already entered the initial realm and have been able to cultivate, and they have mastered the higher, more intelligent, and easier supernatural cultivation techniques, which have proven that their talents and opportunities are even better. As long as you are willing to work hard, it is not too difficult to break through the second realm cultivation in time, and there is really no need to find hardships and practice any pioneering energy, and besides, you may not be able to endure that hardship.

Therefore, the spirit of opening the mountain is usually practiced in the military camp, and only those who do not have the opportunity to get guidance to enter the initial realm are practiced. Those who first practiced to open the mountain, and then had the opportunity to enter the initial realm to cultivate, there are many people on Ba Yuan, such as Lingbao, such as the Northern Dao Clan, and all the true disciples of Wufu Qiu. But the monks who have already entered the cultivation of the mountain opening strength. After Baoyu came to Bayuan, he didn't meet any of them.

Baoyu didn't meet in Bayuan, it doesn't mean that there are no such people in the world, there are them in his hometown, such as Bozhuang, Zhongzhuang, Shuzhuang, and himself. Before Baoyu left Lu Village, he practiced the strength of the mountain and cultivated the martial arts, and also dug the Baizhang Mountain Road outside the village, at that time he didn't think it was a big deal, and after entering Ba Yuan, he knew that this situation was too rare.

Baoyu sat in the courtyard of the post house in the middle of the night, talking to the other monks about the rules on the Wufu Hill. Everyone felt so special. Wufu Qiu can obviously directly instruct the heirs to enter the initial realm to cultivate, but he requires the beginner disciples to cultivate martial arts on their own first, which is simply a superfluous move!

But there are also many people who believe that this is the condition for Wufuqiu to accept disciples, requiring that the heirs are all stoic and extremely strong, so that they are suitable for practicing Wufuqiu's swordsmanship. Don't forget that the patriarch of Wufuqiu was the first general of Ba Guo, and he may have had this experience himself, so he left this tradition behind.

In addition to Baoyu. There were also seven monks, who traveled along the way and visited the local sect monks, and arrived a little later in the Red Brocade City, and all the inns and inns were full. I could only sit in the yard and light a fire overnight.

The monk who walked on the road for the longest time was from the Changling Sect of the Bamuro Kingdom, named Hanxiong, and he was twenty-three years old. It looks like a tiger's back and bear's waist, and it is cultivated to the perfection of the three realms and nine turns. He set out this spring and traveled around the country for most of the year.

When I reported my home. Hanxiong didn't say who his master was, maybe he wasn't too well-known, he wasn't an important figure in the sect, and of course everyone didn't ask. But Baoyu was secretly taken aback, he didn't expect to meet an acquaintance here, Hanxiong was probably a relative of Mr. Changling.

In the forbidden land of Pengshan Mountain in the Ba Mur Kingdom, Baoyu got acquainted with Mr. Changling, the sect leader of the Changling Sect, and a very famous master of the Six Realms. Mr. Changling's description is very thin, while Hanxiong has big shoulders and a round waist, which does not look like it at all in terms of physique, but the contours of his eyes and eyebrows are somewhat similar. So Baoyu felt a little familiar when she saw Hanxiong for the first time, but she was sure that she had never been this person.

Listening to Hanxiong introduce himself, he was a disciple of the Changling Sect of Ba Muruguo, and Baoyu remembered Mr. Changling, and then he understood what was going on. But Baoyu didn't say that he knew Changling, and he had to hide his whereabouts when he came here, not wanting people to know his identity. Of course, Hanxiong couldn't know Baoyu, he hadn't even heard of it, and when the incident in the Pengshan Forbidden Land happened, he had already traveled far away.

Hanxiong has a bold temperament, likes to wave his arms when he speaks, and his voice is particularly loud, even with a buzzing echo in the courtyard in the quiet night. Later, someone came out of the house and begged Hanxiong to speak quietly, and they couldn't sleep because they couldn't sleep in the middle of the night. Hanxiong also felt a little embarrassed, so he tried to keep his voice low as much as possible.

The highest cultivator among the seven people came from Yingzhuling in Zheng Muguo, named Yanfeng, thirty-six years old, and had already turned into five realms. The master who guided him to the first realm to cultivate back then is no longer alive, and he has never broken through the six realms of cultivation in his life, so he is not very famous.

However, the sect of Yingzhuling is very well-known in the Zheng Dynasty, and its suzerain is called Mr. Yingzhu by the people, and it is said that he has six realms and nine turns, and may even break through the seven realms.

Yanfeng has the cultivation of the Five Realms, of course, he is very proud, as if he is the center of everyone, and everyone also praises and respects him when he speaks, and he is even more comfortable when he talks.

Yan Feng didn't come alone, he also brought a fellow disciple, a young man who was only seventeen years old, and his cultivation had just broken through the second realm. said that he was a junior brother, but in fact, he was more like a servant, and Yanfeng asked this junior brother to do everything. For example, when lighting a fire in the courtyard, taking things from the package and laying a seat on the ground, and even when drinking water, it is also this junior brother who brings the cup to Yanfeng.

Disciples who have just broken through the cultivation of the Second Realm usually do not travel far away from the mountains alone. Yanfeng came out in the name of taking him on a trip to practice, but in fact, he was also looking for someone to summon him. Because they had to trek through mountains and rivers, it was very inconvenient for ordinary servants to follow them, and it was best to have a fellow monk to serve them.

Of course, this young monk traveled with Yanfeng, hoping to get guidance on cultivation, and he was very respectful and had no complaints. Yanfeng's Five Realms cultivation is already quite not low, enough to guide the junior disciples who have not been getting started for a long time.

However, Yanfeng had to call his junior brother in everything, but Hanxiong was a little unaccustomed to it, and deliberately sarcastically said in his speech: "Mr. Yanfeng, why did you spend the night in the courtyard with us? ”

Yan Feng coughed and replied: "In the past few years, because I have been concentrating on cultivation in the sect, I have not accepted the invitation of the monarch to serve as a national worker. And I am traveling with my junior and brother this time to witness all kinds of things in the world. Isn't it also a kind of cultivation to talk about things with you at night in this post yard?"

Everyone nodded yes, and Hanxiong also smiled. After doing it for a long time, Yanfeng doesn't have the status of a national worker. The national workers of the Zheng Mur Kingdom are usually awarded to monks above the Five Realms, but there are not no monks of the Four Realms, and not all monks of the Five Realms can be respected as national workers. Not long after Yanfeng broke through the Five Realms, his cultivation and qualifications were relatively shallow, and Zheng Muroguo did not ask him to be a national worker.

There is also a female cultivator in the courtyard, Lian Zhifeng from the sect of Fan Mur Country, named Xiao San, who is just twenty years old this year, and has cultivated to the four realms and seven turns, and she can be regarded as a very outstanding young disciple. Lian Zhifeng is also a well-known cultivation sect in the Fan Chamber, but it is not a well-known sect in Bayuan, and several monks in the courtyard have heard of it, and they have also praised each other for a long time.
