Chapter Ninety-Eight: An Investigator of the Ministry of Magic
Professor McGonagall led the way, leading Brandy and them in the direction of the castle.
The two investigators walked beside Harry, and the lightning bolt on Harry's head was indeed more noticeable than his unassuming Brandi and Ron.
"You're Potter, Harry Potter?" Seeing that Professor McGonagall didn't want to turn back to speak, one of the younger-looking wizards spoke curiously. He was dressed in a scarlet robe, his wand pinned to his trousers, and the ponytail tied with a hairtie at the back of his head was almost as long as Parvati's.
Harry, who was so stiff, was taken aback.
"Yes, how are you ......?"
Before Harry could finish his greeting with a hesitation, the guy with a bit of a grin began to snort to himself.
"It's really Potter, look at that scar, Gadwin, this is a savior!" He excitedly shouted at the guy named Gadwin next to him, "By the way, let me introduce myself, my name is Williamson, I only joined the Ministry of Magic the year before last, and this old guy next to me is Gadwin, the staff of the Auror office heard that you killed the basilisk with Gildero?" That's pretty cool! ”
Gadvin coughed softly, motioning for Williamson to respect his status as an investigator. But it seems to have the opposite effect.
"Don't be so serious, Gadvin, put away your interrogation, we're not investigating criminals." Williamson happily patted him on the shoulder, "Your fierce face will scare them." ”
"Trouble don't treat us like children...... We won't be so scared. ”
"Oh, I forgot, the basilisk should be scarier than old Gadwin." He was so casually perfunctory. "It's hard to imagine that there is such a terrible thing lurking inside the school where I have been staying for seven years...... How the hell did you find that guy? ”
Brandi paused in his slow footsteps.
"Huh? Mr. Williamson? He said with some surprise, "Aren't you here for Principal Carlo's problems?" ”
"You mean Amycus, hey, that kind of thing doesn't need to be investigated and forensic at all...... The Ministry of Magic received more than a hundred complaints in one morning, ranging from Muggle discrimination to breaches of social harmony. And when we came to the head, he specially emphasized to us, saying that we must be convicted of the crime today, otherwise his wife will not let him go to bed when he goes home...... I also found out today that he turned out to be a wife......"
"Enough Williamson." Gardwin, who couldn't bear it, finally interrupted his one-man show, in fact, if he didn't stop talking, Williamson might be able to shake out the entire black history of the Ministry of Magic. He glanced at Williamson disapprovingly, and his stern eyes looked at Brandy.
"Our investigation this time, in addition to collecting evidence of the Muggle wizarding discrimination incident that has occurred at Hogwarts in recent days, is also temporarily instructed by our superiors to confirm the matter of the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets, although the attack has indeed been terminated so far, and Lockhart has also issued a relevant statement in the Daily Prophet, but after all, this is closely related to the safety of the students, and we have to think about it carefully."
Needless to say, this old Gadvin was as meticulous and businesslike Professor McGonagall.
Along the way, he briefly inquired about what happened in the secret room at that time, although Brandi and the others had already passed the gas with Lockhart, and there was nothing inconsistent with Lockhart's statement. Gadwin still didn't seem satisfied, but just as he was about to ask the somewhat apprehensive trio to describe the vague details of the basilisk killing, Professor McGonagall in front of him stopped.
Brandi realized that he was outside Professor McGonagall's office. He quickly diverted the subject.
"Mr. Gardwin, we're here, if you need more details, why don't you make a request to Professor Dumbledore and let us take you directly to the Chamber of Secrets?"
Gadvin hesitated for a moment, and slowly put away the notebook and quill that were floating in the air and constantly recording.
Professor McGonagall pushed the door open and led them inside.
Brandi saw the thin, tall figure at a glance.
Professor Dumbledore was sitting in the armchair where Professor McGonagall usually sits, his eyes shooting down his twisted hooked nose and staring intently at the thin black pamphlet in his hand. Hearing the sound of the door opening, he slowly raised his head with a familiar smile on his face.
"I thought you'd go to the headmaster's office first, Gadwin." He put down his book and stood up, "I didn't expect you to directly find witnesses to investigate and collect evidence." ”
"We met Minerva at the gate of the castle, and we stopped by the way." Gadwin said without humility or arrogance, "Also, remind you, Albus, you are not the headmaster yet." ”
This was so unkind that Brandi and the others frowned.
"That's right......" But Dumbledore wasn't angry, he shrugged his shoulders and walked over from the other side of the room. It seems that for the sake of my rights, I must cooperate with you fully...... So, let's go now? His eyes turned to Harry.
"Go?" Harry muttered inexplicably.
"That's right, let's go." Dumbledore looked at Harry with admiration, "Since the Ministry of Magic is skeptical of the claim that Gildero has already dealt with the monsters in the Chamber of Secrets, we should take them on a site tour." You should remember how to get to the secret room, I really didn't expect Salazar to be able to build the secret room in the women's bathroom. ”
"Wait a minute! Why let them go along? Williamson asked from the side.
"Because there are things that only Harry can do, and you'll know what that means later."
When Harry watched in full view of the python summoned by Brandy, revealing the dark hole under the sink, the two Aurors, who were supposed to have experienced the wind and waves, let out an exclamation. In the Aurors' mind, wizards with a parseltongue are not good characters, so Brandi and them have one less big trouble, and Williamson, who has been by their side, finally shut up and didn't dare to bother them anymore.
They slid down through the slippery tube and landed in the tunnel again, except for Dumbledore, all of whom were spotless.
"To be honest, you guys really surprised me this time."
Walking in the tunnel, Dumbledore walked with the three Brandi with a glowing wand in his hand.
"I thought that the people of this castle still needed my help...... So I left something behind, hoping that the hero who dared to face evil would put them to good use, but you did more than I could have imagined. At least I never knew Barton would have a beautiful Oblivion Charm. ”
He winked playfully at Brandi, and Brandi's face flushed with shame. Because what Brandi and Lockhart did happened to be reversed in the script they had discussed, the man who quietly defeated Riddle with the Oblivion Charm became Brandy. This is where a mistake arises...... Brandi doesn't forget the spell at all.
Fortunately, only those who know him well know about it.
Since the people from the Ministry of Magic were still here, the little lions seemed much more silent, and they silently walked through the long tunnel, and came to the door of the secret room, due to the impact of the basilisk before, the wall here had cracked, and through the cracks, a strong fishy smell was wafting out from it little by little.
"Is that it?" Gardvin said. Seeing Harry nod, he and Williamson quickly pulled out their wands, the Aurors were indeed not in vain, just by the speed at which they pulled out their wands.
"Let's go inside."
With the hiss of the Parseltongue, the stone door was opened. The two of them walked in first, carefully passing through the stone pillar, and when they reached the platform, they were stunned by the traces of the battle left in the secret room.
"Merlin is on top." Williamson muttered.
What a terrible battle it was. The thick stone pillars that could only be hugged by three or four people were shattered by unknown magic, and the two huge stone snakes summoned from the stone pillars were cut into several pieces by the strong force, and only the snake's head could barely be distinguished. At the edge of the platform, a behemoth slept silently in the water, and even if it was swollen by the blisters, it could clearly distinguish the deep bony wounds on its body and the two deep black holes in the eye sockets.
"That way, the Ministry of Magic should be able to rest assured." Dumbledore said.
Gadwin didn't pay attention to Dumbledore, just looked at the basilisk's body in a bit of a daze, and he suddenly noticed something behind the basilisk.
"What's that?" He hesitated to point to the massive statue behind the basilisk.
"There's no doubt that Salazar seems to be extraordinarily confident in his appearance." Dumbledore said.
"No, I'm not talking about appearances." He stared at Salazar's statue, "Potter, have you been in there?" ”
"Ah, what?"
Everyone looked at it, and the Slytherin Black Hole's mouth was wide open, as if mocking silently.
…………
Although Brandy repeatedly confirmed that it was a place for basilisks, they chose to go in to be on the safe side, as the old-fashioned Auror stubbornly believed that there might be other monsters inside.
Joke! If there is still a basilisk, can he still come out of the secret room alive to fight him for this?
When he walked into Slytherin's mouth after Dumbledore, Brandi was full of resentment. No way, the basilisk is obviously unlikely to be concerned about personal hygiene...... It was a terrible nest for the basilisk, not to mention the stench of rotting meat trying to burrow into his nostrils, and the various bones and black, dry feces that lay under his feet made Brandi, who had a slight habit of cleanliness, almost sick.
Finally, just when Brandi was about to take it anymore. They reached the end of the hallway, and the dim glow grew stronger by the magic instilled in them, illuminating the room at the end. There is almost nothing left in this spacious room...... Except for the peeling mural on the wall.
Gadwin and Williamson stepped forward vigilantly and chanted a few detecting incantations.
"There's no magic that can be triggered, it's just a painting."
But what do these lines mean? See, there's a hole here......"
As they tapped the groove in vain with their wands, Brandy walked in, and at a glance he saw what was on the wall.
"Hmm!"
He snorted and bent down.
"What's the matter, you know this thing?" Gadvin reacted quickly, and he immediately ran over and grabbed Brandi's collar excitedly. "What's that graphic on that!"
"You'd better let him go, Gadvin, he's just going to get fumigated if you don't want to get sprayed." Dumbledore kindly reminded him.
"......Shh Forget it, Williamson, use the rubbing spell, let's go back and study it slowly. ”
With a burst of seven-colored light, the pattern on the wall was copied onto the parchment roll in Williamson's hand...... This time it was even more straightforward, and even Harry and Ron recognized it. They looked at each other in surprise, and left Dumbledore with Brandy in his arms.
Hell, how can there be seven seals here?
