Chapter 1101: Alterac Valley (Three Watches)
The original version of the Alterac Valley was said to have no reinforcements.
In that version, it is usually not the tactics that determine the victory, but the number of people, because there is no concept of reinforcements, and the entire Okuyama battlefield is likely to fight from daytime to late at night, and there is no concept of cross-server battlefield at that time, for those servers with unbalanced camps, the number of people on the side who fight until midnight is not enough, so the winner is divided.
Later versions of the Alterac Valley underwent a series of reforms, mainly in two ways:
The first is that the various complex mechanics have been completely nerfed, including the removal of most neutral NPCs, the weakening of the attributes of the guards, and the fact that many powerful summonable NPCs no longer appear.
The second is the addition of the concept of reinforcements, so that the duration of the Okuyama battle in each round is controlled.
Overall, this change tends to speed up the pace of the battlefield, after all, it is hard to say how good the game experience is when a battlefield is fought from day to night.
Moreover, the honor rewards on the battlefield mainly come from the key nodes of occupying strongholds and winning victories, and the alliance and the tribe are infinitely deadlocked on the plains of conquest, and neither side can get too many honor points, which is a serious waste of time.
In the original design, Okuyama was designed with the idea of a large-scale interactive PVE game with only a portion of the PVP content, where the player had to complete various missions and have a key impact on the battlefield through many key NPCs.
For example, after the player rescues the air commander, he will hand in various items, and after handing over a sufficient amount, he will hear an angry roar from the air force and fly to the opponent's airspace to start bombing.
Alternatively, the player can summon their own cavalry to charge after the Keeper of the Furry Fence captures their own animals and kills enemy animals (the Alliance is a sheep, the Horde is a wolf).
In addition, you can summon special forces for support, upgrade your army's defenses, and even summon the ultimate unit to dominate the battlefield.
Once enough Alliance soldiers have surrendered their blood or Storm Crystals, the druids will arrive in the Plains of Conquest, where players will assist them in their summoning rituals, summoning Ivos, the King of the Forest, or Lokhora, the Lord of Ice.
In other words, that version of the Okuyama battlefield is not a simple battle between alliance and horde players, but relies on many means to improve the combat power of friendly forces in order to win a normal war.
Of course, it sounds good, but in fact, with the change of version, some problems arise.
Because it takes a lot of time to complete these tasks, take the mechanic of summoning cavalry as an example, the player needs to scatter around to catch wolves and kill sheep, collect various items and then run back to hand them in, so there is a contradiction:
If the NPC's strength is weaker, the player on the opposite side will directly assemble and pull out your watchtower, and then you are still collecting things in a hurry, and then you will be pierced through by a wave; If the NPC is very strong, both sides are desperate to collect resources, and the battlefield becomes a big battle between NPCs, and the time of the battlefield is exponentially extended, which is contrary to the goal of speeding up the pace of the battlefield.
So by the end of the day, these complex mechanics had largely become unpopular, with both the Alliance and the Horde leaning towards fast-paced offensive and defensive battles, where each player was particularly important, and splitting up to collect these things would be a slowdown.
Therefore, this version of Alterac Valley produced by Chen Mo still retains the mechanism of NPCs, but adds the concept of reinforcements, after all, if it is really a battle that lasts for one night, it will be meaningless. Like the alliance is obviously at a disadvantage, and then it sticks to the bridge, and as a result, neither side can win, which sounds quite passionate, but it is not like that when it comes to fighting.
Chen Mo saw that there were only about 100 reinforcements left in this alliance, and more than 400 in the tribe, which was too miserable.
It's not that the alliance is weak, there are many reasons why the tribe has an advantage on the battlefield in the early stage. Because of the appearance of the tribe, most of the players who choose the tribe at the beginning are the kind of pure men who like to kill people, and the appearance party and the landscape party generally do not choose the tribe. So at the beginning the cohesion of the tribe was higher.
Of course, the later version of the alliance prevailed, so much so that the island of conquest became the island of the alliance, which is another story.
Obviously, this battle was a battle of great disparity between the two sides, and the alliance was very ignorant at the beginning to lose a lot of towers, so that now they can only retreat to the bridge. The commander obviously doesn't know much about this battlefield, but fortunately, he is still more conscientious, and has been swiping the screen in the hope that everyone will hurry back to the bridge to defend.
The bridge is very easy to defend, because the terrain of the alliance is loose on the outside and tight on the inside, and the defense line of one tower and two towers can be said to be full of holes, but the bridge here is absolutely easy to defend and difficult to attack. Anyway, all kinds of blizzards, fire rains, and ranged skills are thrown wildly on the bridge, not to mention the tribe, and it is difficult for even a fly to fly over.
The two sides are at a stalemate, but although the alliance holds the bridge, because of the existence of the reinforcement mechanism, the tribe exchanges three heads for one head of the alliance, and the tribe wins.
Chen Mo sent a message on the battlefield channel: "Give me the battlefield leader." ”
He was afraid that the current battlefield leader wouldn't see it, so he brushed it twice.
As a result, the title was changed to him in the next second, and it was obvious that the previous battlefield leader was also eager to come out and take the blame personally.
Chen Mo quickly divided the current team, the thieves and druids were all thrown into the 7th and 8th squads, and the front squads basically focused on class matching, ensuring that each squad had a long-range profession and a healing profession.
"Everyone listened to my command, the 1234 team continued to guard the bridge, and the 56 team rushed to the bridge with me to cover the 78 team. Team 78, you sneaked to me and touched the defense line of the tribe, don't fight anyone you encounter, keep sneaking to the middle of the battle plain, keep stealth and wait for my next command. ”
"If you're still outside, if you're a stealth class, go straight to the Plains, and if not, you'll die quickly. Hurry up, get moving. ”
Chen Mo said as he put the tactical arrangements in the battlefield channel in the form of words.
I have to say that the title of battlefield leader still works. Most of the alliances were already in the stage of waiting for losing, because they felt that they couldn't win the fight like this, and they couldn't retreat (there would be a deserter debuff if they retreated), but now they saw that such a tough command appeared, and they all began to move spontaneously.
Although many people were still lazy and didn't know what they were doing, at least the alliance players who were guarding the edge of the bridge were all gathered according to Chen Mo's requirements.
Now that the Horde has occupied the Thunderspear Graveyard across the bridge, the respawn points of the two sides are very close to each other, just across a bridge. Therefore, Chen Mo can't take the risk of pouring out the nest, in case the first wave doesn't rush down and is taken by the tribe, then even if Chen Mo knows how to play again, he will not be able to return to the sky.
Most of the stealth professions of Team 78 are at home, and a few of them have sneaked out and are scattered all over the place. The others were all waiting for Chen Mo's order behind the bridge, just waiting for the 56 squad to rush forward, and they took advantage of the gap between the tribal defense lines being pulled to sneak over.
I don't know if it's useful to resist now, but since it's already like this, let's try it.
