Chapter Seventy-Nine: The Chill
It wasn't until nightfall, when Brandy, exhausted, followed Hagrid back to the cabin that he was still thinking about this strange thing. It must be because he usually thinks too much about the relationship at home, and he has already made up all kinds of weird and bizarre murders in Hogwarts.
Of course, all of that was quickly dismissed by Hagrid. Because Hogwarts has been so safe during this time, not to mention murder, not even a quill, and the only one who can have anything to do with death is Ron's poor mouse.
This brutal truth makes Brandi in Sherlock Holmes mode feel very lost.
"But Hagrid, I can't figure out how a good person could just disappear into thin air. Even if you have an invisibility cloak, you won't even get rid of the footprints. ”
As he said this, Hagrid was busy with the day's dinner in front of the stove, and when he heard this, he turned around with a helpless expression on his face.
"Alright, alright, you don't have to think about it, I'll go and report this matter to Dumbledore. But I still think it's just a coincidence - maybe it's just some senior Quidditch player running to the Forbidden Forest with a broomstick? Come to think of it, there are so many trees in the Forbidden Forest that they couldn't be better used as obstacles during flight. ”
"That's right...... Brandi fell backwards in frustration, falling headlong on his bed. I thought it was going to be some suspicious guy, like the little one who was obsessed with Harry—"
"Bang!" Hagrid was agitated and threw the pot to the ground, a look of horror on his face.
"Brandi, who are you listening to about this?!" He blurted out.
This kind of emotional performance made Brandi a little overwhelmed for a while. "The Aurors from the Ministry of Magic told me that he had always dreamed of coming to Hogwarts to seek revenge on Harry, and now the castle is suddenly on guard because of him—hey, wait a minute," he snapped back and shouted loudly. "Hagrid! Do you know Sirius Black? I haven't even said who it is! ”
"Oh, damn it!" Hagrid, who knew he was speechless, turned pale, and he patted his cheek in frustration.
However, just as Brandi was about to ask for more details, there was a slight knock on the door. Brandi was stunned for a moment, he knelt on the bed, and peeked out of the window, and found himself eye-catching with a silver spherical creature, which looked so kind and familiar—
"Hah!" He let out a suppressed exclamation, then eagerly jumped out of bed to open the door for them under Hagrid's bewildered eyes.
"Good morning, Brandi~" I haven't seen you for a long time, and even this off-line greeting seems so cordial.
"Long time no see, Luna, by the way, it's eight o'clock in the evening."
Luna walked in first, struggling with a bulging bag in her hand, her eyes wandering as she looked around the hut. Selph, as timidly as ever, followed behind Luna. When she saw Brandi, she quickly changed into a reassuring little expression, and quickly plunged into Brandi's stomach and grabbed his robe.
"Wow hoo ~ Brandi, got you."
Brandi was immediately healed by the 'power of the sister' that came to him, and threw all the unpleasant things out of the clouds. He habitually reached out to rub Salph's little head, but unexpectedly grabbed a hand of cat hair - Yale, who had finished globalization, put his upper body behind Salph's pointed wizard hat, and lazily raised his paws, as a greeting to his former master.
"Meow~"
"Meow! Dead Yale come down for me, you're so heavy and embarrassed to pick up Salph's head! Brandi was furious, and snatched Yale off Salph's hat and threw it to the teeth in the room. And extremely cruel directives were issued.
"Tooth lick it!"
As we all know, Yaya is a very humane dog......
Watching Yale scream as she struggled to dodge the tongue-licking attacks, Brandi turned his head in satisfaction, and he dotingly took off Salph's hat and rubbed it against her head. Bewildered by Brandy's skillful head-touching skills, the latter's eyes narrowed wide and showed a satisfied expression.
It wasn't until Hagrid coughed dryly that the intimate interaction between the two was officially over.
"This is Salph." Brandi said to Hagrid, "I don't know if Professor Dumbledore told you...... Well, she's actually my sister. ”
The suspicious look on Hagrid's face dissipated. "Brother and sister? Oh, galloping Gorgon, I'll just say how could you be...... Well, take the initiative. I didn't see you that close to Hermione before - I thought you were going to introduce me to your little girlfriend! Then he regained his joy and began to busied himself with making tea for Luna. You two don't look like each other at all. Speaking of which, when I went to your house in first grade, wasn't Self home at that time? ”
"Uh... yes..."Brandi opened her mouth, realizing that she couldn't explain to Hagrid why there was such a big genetic gap between the two of them.
"How did you come to see me today?" When everyone was seated, Brandi said. "Hagrid told me that Luna came to see it alone, and she wasn't looking for me!"
He tried to stalk his neck in a feigned rage, but Salf just tugged at his sleeve, and Brandi's serious expression began to hold back. Luna chuckled from the side.
"Because Salf said you weren't at Hogwarts for a while." She explained to Brandi, "I made a bet with her the time I came to see if what she was saying was accurate. She said you should be back by now, and we're here, Brandy. ”
Brandi's eyes widened in curiosity as she looked at Selph, who was still clutching her robe. "Huh? I don't think I told you about my departure from Hogwarts...... How do you know? Did Professor Dumbledore or Harry mention it to you? ”
Salph shook her head innocently, her big brown eyes sparkling like two dazzling gems.
"I've always known that, because you're Brandy's brother."
………………
Sorph and the others had come for a pure purpose, and they seemed to just want to have dinner at the castle with Brandy—they seemed to have fallen in love with the feeling of sharing food with Brandy since the last time they ate sweetly with the two of them in the hospital room. As a result, after the cats and dogs around the castle, Brandi and Hagrid also became the beneficiaries of Sorph and Luna's feeding play (Luna seemed to have been prepared for it, and brought Hagrid enough roast chicken and sausages to fill his stomach, which was not an easy task, and she was tired from carrying it all the way). )
The room was filled with cheerful vibes, and even Yaya was given two chicken legs as a reward for his friendly act of helping Yale exercise. This made the teeth, who had been gnawing bones on weekdays, regard these two girls as goddesses, and indirectly caused the tongue-licking attack to become more and more sharp.
Luna was very curious about Hagrid, and she always spoke straightforwardly, and Brandi was a little worried that she would offend Hagrid. However, Hagrid seemed to like the idea of a whimsical little girl, and as the two of them chatted, they got into the topic of Fantastic Beasts, and suddenly couldn't get out of it - although Hagrid disagreed with Luna's 'scimitar-horned snoring beast' theory, he was particularly appreciative of Luna's persistence.
"For what you believe, you must persistently pursue it, not only to prove it to the world, but more importantly, to prove it to your heart, Luna." Hagrid never seemed so happy, and he gently reached out his finger and tapped Luna's head. "I'm sure you can."
On the other side, Self and Brandy were together, whispering to themselves. Brandi got a letter from Sorve's mother from Sherve, and the letter seemed to have acquiesced that Sorf was her own daughter, and she had even made summer plans for Sorve, saying that she would take Sorf to Barcelona to watch the Olympics - she seemed to insist that Brandi would go to Ron's house for a month this summer, so she didn't mention anything about bringing Brandi with her.
Turtle turtle, suddenly felt as if he had become a dispensable existence at home.
We talked until ten o'clock in the evening, when the two girls reluctantly said goodbye to Hagrid, and promised to come over to eat with them often. Brandi took parchment paper and charcoal, as well as the invisibility cloak he had draped over and walked out. He was going to send the Salphs back to the common room, then go to the library to copy a few spells and come back to practice, and try to see if he could decipher the code in the letter Padma had left him—he was confident of that.
Leaving aside the latter part of "5.23.10-40", he couldn't be more familiar with the code "4-11": because it was simply following the clue to the treasure trove on the stairs!
It seems that Padma already knew what they would experience when they returned to India, so they would leave the information at Hogwarts in advance in this way.
Before leaving, Hagrid gave Brandy the key to the hut and motioned for him to open the door himself when he returned.
"Remember to lock the door lock, don't worry about any movement, I sleep very deeply."
……………………
As it turned out, Hagrid did sleep deeply.
Even after about four hours, when Brandy rushed in with a panicked push open and slammed the door shut, making a loud noise, Hagrid had no intention of being awakened.
Brandi's face turned pale, and his whole body trembled violently. He took several deep breaths in a row before he could barely suppress the anxiety in his heart. Then, he threw his belongings on the table, and without even taking off his clothes, he fell headlong on the bed, and the quilt pulled over his head.
"How could it be...... How could this be, those inhuman bastards. ”
Brandi shivered desperately under the quilt, the fire was still there, and the room was as warm as spring, but he couldn't feel the slightest warmth. The moonlight was obscured by a thin layer of clouds, as if it had been separated by a layer of frosted glass, and it became faint.
Another sleepless night.
