Chapter 17: Attacking and Killing Ants

Jumping, catching, jumping, jumping, in less than a breath, Systm managed to catch a black-brown ant, and then jumped away in style.

Whether it is speed, strength, or body shape, Syst has an absolute advantage over ants, as long as it is not a head-on fight with an army of brains and ants, it is still very easy to catch a single ant, after all, although ants have a certain degree of alertness, they rarely run away.

When ants encounter an abnormal situation, the first thing they think of is not to run away, but to bite you first.

The process of catching the ants went smoothly for Sistum, but the next handling of Sistemm was rusty.

The four-legged leg easily caught the smaller ant, but the ant did not resist and directly bit the root of one of Sistum's legs with its chelicera.

In fact, even if Sistemm released the leg that was holding the ant, the ant would not fall off Sistum's body, and it was not so much that Sistemm had caught the ant, but that they had caught each other.

The exoskeleton shattered slightly, and the sensation of formic acid burning came from Sistham's feet.

After metamorphosing into an adult, Systham's exoskeleton is much stronger, and with the derivative abilities [Regeneration of Severed Limbs] and [Acid Resistance], Systham's injuries are actually not serious.

Waving a huge chelica tooth the size of an ant's head, the black-brown ant corpse separates.

But an ant is an ant, and even though only its head remains, its chelicera still bite at Sistt's forelimbs.

In order to avoid secondary damage to his feet and limbs, Systm had to use [Corrosive Slime] to melt the ant's skull and chelicerae before successfully separating the ant's head from his forelimbs.

After chewing on the ant's crunchy chocolate-like braincase, Systm continued to jump towards the ant fighting the tadpoles in the mud.

Unlike normal insect hunters, who grab their prey and eat it directly, Systm is more efficient in killing more ants and eating them together.

The ants have a very low IQ and extremely poor eyesight, and although the sudden appearance of Systham confuses a dozen ants for a while, they continue to fight the tadpoles in the mud without finding anything abnormal.

Syst did the same, grabbing the second ant again.

This time, a dozen ants were obviously a little more alert than last time, and two ants even chased half a meter away in his direction.

However, the distance of half a meter was just an easy jump for Systham, who easily shook off the ants' pursuit.

The reason why the ant pursued it a second time, and Systm quickly figured out that it should be the pungent sour taste left on his forelimbs, and the ant's vision is very poor, but the sense of smell is extremely acute.

The second ant, Sistem, was much more careful in capturing it, and used his two forelimbs to spread the ant's head far away, although his forelimbs were scratched many times by the ant's chelicera, but the ant always aimed his chelicera at Sistum's body.

Eventually, Systham bit off the second ant's head unscathed.

Eating the grasshopper's braincase, Systm began to think about how to get rid of the sour taste left by the ants on him.

There's still a lot of stagnant water left in the forest, and using it will surely get rid of some of the sourness from his body, but instead of rinsing with water, Systm has a special method, and that's his [Corrosive Slime].

Heatham's [Corrosive Slime] is an evolution of [Fishy Slime] and still retains its fishy characteristics, and Heatham feels that this smell is enough to cover up the sour smell secreted by the ants.

Secreting a few drops of corrosive liquid with a fishy smell into his wounds, Systm attacked the dozen ants again.

……

As Sistemm had expected, the fishy liquid he secreted successfully covered the ant's taste of formic acid, and this time the remaining ants did not pursue Sistemm too far.

They only searched for a moment near the tadpole's carcass before continuing to entangle with the tadpole dying in the mud.

Compared to [Corrosive Slime] success in masking the scent, Systm was flawed again when the third ant was accidentally freed from the third ant and his forelimbs were once again bitten by the ant.

However, from the third ant onwards, Systm gradually became proficient in his movements.

It wasn't until noon that dozens of ants came one after another, dismembering and transporting the tadpole's carcass, and Systm successfully hunted nine ants.

Since the third ant, Sistemtem has not been injured again, and he has gradually figured out the pattern of the ant's attack.

They only attack based on instinct, are well predicted, and will not let go as long as they bite their prey.

According to the characteristics of ants that bite things and do not let go, Systm invented a tactic of hunting ants, and when hunting the fifth ant, Systham's chelica teeth took a straw stick in his mouth, and after catching the ant, he actively sent the straw stick to the ant's mouth.

The ants that bite the sticks lose any ability to threaten Systm.

The sixth and seventh Heathems were hunted in the same way, but by the eighth Heatham they didn't use straw sticks anymore, because he was already familiar with the ants, and he could easily kill them even without them.

……

Systm carried the ant's carcasses and gathered them in a small tree branch, and he began to eat.

Heatham could feel that his talent [Transformational Growth] was absorbing some nutrients from the ant's corpse, as long as he hunted different kinds of insects like this, Systm estimated that his [Transformational Growth] would reach level 13 at the latest when he reached level 10.

Not only [Metamorphosis Growth], but as he ate the ant's formic acid secretion gland, Syst felt that his [Corrosive Slime] became a little more corrosive, and it is estimated that when his level reaches level 9, this ability will be promoted.

Looking at the experience bar on [Self-Information Generation], Systm estimated that if he ate all the ant corpses, he would be able to reach a quarter of his experience bar.

These nine ants, plus the previous cricket, provided the same nutrients as a pupae.

Fifteen ants are worth one egg.

I have to say that if it weren't for Sisstem's eagerness to improve the level of [Transformation and Growth], he would undoubtedly be the best choice to guard those pupae.

Sistemm chewed on the corpse of the ants, and began to think about the next plan, he could continue to hunt some of these ants, but if he ate too much, the effect of [Metamorphosis Growth] on him would decrease, and he had to eat more kinds of creatures.

For these ants, Systham thought of many plans, such as driving tigers and wolves.

Use sticks to collect the ant's acidic liquid, and then use the acid to attract the ant colony to attack enemies he can't deal with, such as spiders.

However, it is very difficult to do this, not to mention that the spider's nest is generally in a high place, and it is difficult for the ant colony to launch a general attack, even if he knocks the spider to the ground, the spider will not necessarily be killed by the ants.

Not every ant is a marching ant that can send millions of troops at any time.

If you put hundreds of ants and spiders in a bottle, the spiders will definitely be dismembered by the ants and die, but if you put ants and spiders in the wild, the spiders will run away long ago when they see that the situation is wrong.

……

About two hours before the sun went down, Heatham ate all the remaining corpses of the ants.

Continuing on, Sistemm was once again confronted by a large number of ants......
