Death in the Forest
The beautiful Gran Forest is home to many races, the most representative of which are the elves of the intelligent race who have lived in this land since the birth of Arad, and the simple and wise Minotaur with the strength to match the huge body.
They work together to protect the Great Magic Circle built by Mar and live a peaceful life. Although there were occasional uninvited guests, the forest protected them, and the small riots quickly subsided.
On this quiet day, one day, the great Minotaur King Urata, known as the Beastmaster, looked around the forest, as if looking for someone.
Utara: So you're here, and I've found you.
He was looking for none other than the Elven Elders. Elves can easily find each other through magical perception, but Ularta knows nothing about magic and can only find it herself.
Elven Celia: Hello, Lord Uttara.
Elven Elder: Long time no see, Beastmaster. Do you have anything to do with me?
Utara: Well, there's something I'm worried about, so I'm here to talk to you.
The minotaur has always been straightforward and quick to say anything. But this time, Utara was uncharacteristically very tactful. Seeing this scene, the clever elf girl quickly stood up.
Elf Celia: Oh yes, I almost forgot that I had to return the book. Elder, Lord Uttara, I'll go first.
Utara: I'm sorry.
Elf Celia: It's nothing, don't worry about me, you can have a good talk.
It wasn't until the elf girl had walked far away, far enough that the elf's keen hearing could not hear, that the elder asked quietly.
Elven Elder: What, what's wrong?
Utara: A lot of humans have been coming in from outside lately, and it's okay for adventurers and travelers to come in, but I saw a guy wrapped in iron around and felt something was wrong.
Elven Elder: I've found out about this problem as well. I don't know what they want to do, so I'm getting ready to arrange more archers.
Utara: Well, if the elves are also on guard, we'll be much more relieved. But what are these humans doing?
There was a hint of caution in Utara's voice. Although it is impossible to say what the reason is, out of the Beastmaster's instinct, he seems to smell danger.
Elven Elder: They seem to be soldiers, but they look like they're investigating something.
Utara: They're not going to want to attack the Great Magic Circle, are they?
The Great Magic Circle that surrounds the Gran Forest was built by the Grand Mage Mal, who even the elves revered, exhausted all his magic power.
Humans always want to expand their territory, and the reason why the elves who have been brutally expelled by humans can live in the forest as carefree as they are now is because of the magic circle of Mar guarding the Gran Forest.
However, the Gran Mori is not just an important place for elves, this vast forest with a long history is also home to many animals and plants. It is no exaggeration to say that the Gran Forest plays the most important role in maintaining the ecology of the entire Arad.
Elven Elder: No. If Mar's magic array is destroyed, they will also suffer huge losses, and no matter how short-sighted they are, they probably won't do such a self-defeating thing.
Utara: I hope so, too, but humans have been destroying and plundering this forest for a long time. There are so many human beings in the whole of Arad, and there will not be no unthinking guys among them.
Elven Elder: So, we've stepped up our vigilance. Moreover, not only the elves, but also the tough minotaurs guard the place. As long as we work together and be vigilant, what we fear will not happen.
Utara: I hope so, but I always have a bad feeling...... Ah, forget it. It's really embarrassing to say something about a premonition in front of an elf.
Uttara stood up and picked up the great hammer he had never left with him. If it were a human or an elf, several people might not be able to lift the hammer with force at the same time, but with his strength, it would be easy to lift it. His great power even the Elven Elders couldn't help but sigh.
Utara: Then I'll go on patrol first. There might be some other stupid guys besides the soldiers, I'll have to watch it. This time, I would like to focus on patrolling the outer part of the forest.
Elven Elder: It's been a long way, and I hope you return safely as soon as possible.
Utara: Thank you, and we'll see you next time.
The elven elder watched as Utara's massive body disappeared into the trees. This silent forest is overgrown with ancient towering trees, and even the tall Minotaur looks small compared to them. No matter what humans do, as long as they are guarded by minotaurs and elves, they will not disappear easily.
However, it is not known what exactly humans will do. Their sudden movements are unpredictable even with the intelligence of the elves, and they are often caught off guard.
Although the young elf said that war should be declared on humanity, it was only the rash idea of the hot-blooded young man. Against the race that dominates Arad, there is little chance of victory for the elves who are much smaller in number.
The Elven Elders have only one wish: if only humanity could think about the longer future as Mal, who hopes for peace for all races.
It's not for the elve's safety. The Gran Forest is an essential part of Arad. If even this place is attacked and the Great Magic Circle is destroyed, the consequences will be unimaginable.
Once a forest has been destroyed, it is impossible to restore it to its original state. For the sake of the forest and Arad, the elven elders could only pray that Utara's fears would not come true.
