Chapter 377: Meeting Parents for the First Time (Asking for a Monthly Pass!)
Hogwarts Castle, Scottish Highlands, 10 a.m. sharp.
The Hogwarts bell had been ringing for a while, and most of the teachers and students, except for Elena who had taken leave and some old people who had nothing to do, were already sitting in their classrooms and starting a new day.
In order to prevent the embarrassing situation of the "real and fake Dumbledore" meeting, Elena specially set the time of Lovegood's family visit in such an interval that no one would disturb her.
As for how to make sure everything would go according to the planned schedule, this was pretty straightforward in the wizarding world - making a portkey that was timed to activate was all it would do, and for Grindelwald, it wasn't a hassle.
As the hour hand on the tower trembled to ten o'clock, the next moment, a distorted light and shadow flashed, and two figures, one tall and one short, appeared on the viaduct in front of the main entrance of Hogwarts Castle.
"Dad, is this Hogwarts?"
Luna looked up at the tower-lined castle in front of her, her eyes full of curiosity.
"That's right, this is Hogwarts Castle. โ
Xenophilius Lovegood nodded absentmindedly, his gaze falling on the figure not far ahead, and a hint of solemnity flashed in his eyes - sure enough, it was really Albus Dumbledore.
Mr. Lovegood subconsciously tightened the letter in his hand, and a light blue halo on it was slowly dissipating.
Portkeys are not an uncommon form of magic.
In fact, prior to the opening of the Hogwarts Express, one of the ways for students to get to Hogwarts was to use the portkeys that had been dropped in advance by the school, and the wizarding world occasionally used them in the form of portkeys for major tournaments or concerts. (note 1)
However, generally speaking, as the preset time and distance of the Portkey in advance increases, as well as the fragility of the carrying object, the actual difficulty and accuracy of the spell can be said to increase exponentially.
There are only a handful of people in the wizarding world who can accurately locate a bridge across most of England (from Devon to the Scottish Highlands) after an interval of almost a full day.
"Professor Dumbledore, long time no see. โ
Xenophilius Lovegood calmed down, took his daughter and walked forward, and took the initiative to say hello.
Since Dumbledore chose to meet at Hogwarts Castle, it was a friendly attitude that was willing to communicate, and because of this, Xenophilius Lovegood finally agreed to bring his daughter with him.
He feels more at ease than leaving his daughter, who is less than 10 years old, alone at home.
The other side......
Is this Luna and her father?
As depicted in the original book, Xenophilius Lovegood was slightly eye-catching, with white marshmallow-like hair unkempt over his shoulders, and a man wearing an egg-yellow robe of dazzling color.
And around the wizard's neck hangs a gold chain with a strange triangular eye symbol shining on it - the Deathly Hallows.
Her gaze lingered for a moment on the Deathly Hallows pendant on Mr. Lovegood's chest, and Elena pursed her lips noncommittally, quickly moving her gaze away from the man to look around at Luna's little Lori like a fledgling that had just come out of the nest.
Luna has waist-length light blonde hair with a hint of brown in between, and her eyebrows are very light in color because she hasn't taken care of them much.
Perhaps due to genetics, Luna's two eyes also bulged out slightly, which made her eyes a little hazy, looking trance-like, exuding a strange and fluttering temperament.
Elena looked carefully at the father and daughter in front of her, and nodded with satisfaction - fortunately, the painting style did not collapse.
At the same time, Dumbledore's blue eyes looked at Lovegood as he walked by, and nodded gently.
"Good morning, Xenophilius, and it's a pleasure to see you again. But ......"
After a slight pause, the old man turned sideways, let go of Elena, who was standing beside him, and continued with a smile.
"Today's protagonist is not me, but this child, and I am just accompanying and complementing. โ
Huh?
Xenophilius Lovegood was slightly stunned before noticing the little silver-haired witch standing beside the old wizard - he had been so nervous that he had focused almost all of his attention on Dumbledore.
The next moment, Lovegood's pupils shrank sharply, and his eyes were fixed on Elena's chest.
I saw that the girl had a pendant almost identical to him hanging from her chest, and a layer of magical luster flashed from the surface of the pendant. Obviously, unlike the ornament he was carrying, it was a real magic item.
"Hello, Mr. Lovegood, for the first time. โ
Elena took a small step forward, held out a hand towards Xenophilius Lovegood, and said generously.
"Introduce yourself, Elena Kaslana, abbreviated as Aยท K, pen name Delisa Apokalis, is a first-year Hufflepuff House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and is ten years old. I don't think you'll be familiar with these names, right?"
"Wait! So, it's you......"
Xenophilius Lovegood lowered his head, looked at the little guy in front of him, about one meter two, his face was full of astonishment, he opened his mouth, and didn't know what to say for a while-ten years old?!
You know, before coming to Hogwarts, Lovegood imagined many scenarios and assumptions in advance.
But he didn't expect that for so many days, he had the impression of the arrogant, cruel, vicious, and shrewd "kidnapper Aยท Mr. K", it was actually a little girl who jumped up and barely could only hit him in the chest.
"I know, it may be a little difficult for you to accept it for a while, but you have to admit that there are geniuses in this world......"
Elena spread her hands and raised her eyebrows rather triumphantly, ready to continue boasting.
Suddenly, a small white hand spread out in front of her eyes, almost poking directly into her nose.
"Scimitar Snorer. โ
Luna Lovegood looked Elena in the eye and said with a serious expression, "You promised in your letter that as soon as I came to Hogwarts, you would return my [Scimitar Snorer]. โ
"Don't worry, of course I'll give it back to you. โ
Facing Luna's clear silver-gray eyes, Elena unconsciously looked away, shrugged her shoulders and explained.
"As you can see, I don't have a place to hide an owl. So, if you want that little flat-headed guy, you'll have to come with me to my ...... Well, the Hufflepuff girls' dorm does. โ
