Chapter 12 Rescue Plan
Dimiteo Greccia has his own plans.
Victoria Douglas's mother, Elizabeth Douglas, is under house arrest by Okard at the Eusta estate in the Yolanta area.
With the help of the Imperial Chapter of the Mercenary Guild, Dimi plans to rescue her. Dimi thinks that if he drags on any longer, Okad will probably learn that Victoria Hywell and Victoria Douglas, the Empire's secret warriors, are one person, and that it will be too late.
The Secret Warriors don't like to procrastinate. The same goes for Dimiteo Greccia. Therefore, he opted for a more direct strategy.
β¦β¦
Inside the inn.
Dimi was dumbfounded. The lobby was silent for two seconds, then reverted to a noisy state. Several men, led by the bull's-eyed man, smiled at Dimi before turning their attention back to their own game.
The innkeeper couldn't sit still. The shriveled old man, blind in one eye, with sparse hair and pointed ears, seemed to declare the elven blood of his master's ancestors.
"This ......"
The girl glanced at him, took two copper coins from her pocket and threw them over. The boss immediately stopped talking with a smile on his face. Most of these mercenaries nestled in the lobby only cost one Okad copper coin - the Imperial copper coin that the girl took out was worth more than the Okad copper coin. Decades-old agreements between the three great powers unified the weight and fineness of gold coins, but copper coins were still issued separately.
And Dimi finally came to his senses. He looked at the girl who came over, his face full of anxiety.
"Victoria," he lowered his voice, "why are you here?" No...... How did you know I was here? β
"Since you did it, you have to be mentally prepared to be discovered." The girl said with a grin, and sat down next to Dimi.
"The Stars of the Stars, that guy ......," Dimi muttered to himself.
"I think you should thank Mr. Goth." The girl said.
Dimi's face changed.
"How can you do this!" He said, his brown eyes mixed with worry and anger, "Not saying a word, just like that, putting yourself in danger?" Victoria, you know, we're ...... right now."
"I will return these truths," said the girl calmly, "and if I were you, I would not speak so loudly." β
"Uh......" Dimi was speechless. He looked around and was relieved to make sure no one noticed them.
"I don't know what you think, Dimi," said the maiden, "and it's okay to act recklessly in the Empire, but in Okad? You ......"
"I'm 90 percent sure I'll succeed, Victoria," Dimi said, "and even if things change, I'm confident I'll get out on top." β
"Only ninety percent?" The girl glared, "If you fail to rescue, Xiaowei...... My mother died, what should I do? And if you get lost in Okad...... How will I face Your Majesty and the Prime Minister? Do you have any foolproof way to retreatβor is it entirely on your vague faith? β
"Even if ...... I mean, it may be very small, but even if there is a case, those Okadians will not dare to do anything to me," Dimi said in a low voice, "at least, I won't have to worry about my life......"
"Yes, you are the crown prince of the empire," the girl sneered, "but you are a disgrace to the empire and your father." β
"What about you?!" Dimi said angrily, "Victoria? You can lash out at me as much as you want, but you, the Okadians are the target! Okad is still secretly wanted for you, but you took the initiative to send it to the door! Like this...... There are brave and unscrupulous ......"
"I'll give you the same words, why you are here, why I am here," the girl said, looking at Dimi in front of her, "You came here to rescue Xiaowei...... My mother. As you said to Goth, now that my story has not yet spread in Okade, this is our last chance. β
"Didn't I promise that the Empire would reunite your mother and daughter?" Dimi clenched his fists, "Even if you can't trust me, you have to trust Your Majesty...... Believe in the promise of the father! β
"Imperials, you are not good at solving problems diplomatically," said the girl, "and since you have chosen this reckless path, I must make sure that you can complete your mission." I'm not just helping you, I'm watching you fulfill the promise of the Empire. That's all right, right? β
Dimi shook his head: "That doesn't change the danger you face. β
The girl's face also sank: "But I can't sit back and watch others fall into crisis for me." If you want to make me owe you a favor for that, you're very wrong, Dimi. You are trying to save my loved ones, how can I stand idly by? β
"......"
"If your queen mother were caught up here, Dimi, answer me, would you allow me or Victor to save her alone? Now, you're going to keep up anyway, aren't you? β
Dimi was silent for two seconds.
"Yes," he said, "I will." β
"In that case, don't complain about my cunning," said the maiden angrily, "really! Why are you so stubborn? β
Dimi closed his eyes, as if in a fierce psychological struggle. Then, when he opened his eyes again, his expression had regained his composure.
"Well, I'll promise you to follow me," said Dimi, "but don't leave me, okay?" β
ββ¦β¦ I'll see the opportunity to act. The girl said.
ββ¦β¦ Actually, you've been trying to mess around like this for a long time, right? Dimi rolled his eyes rarely.
"I'm an expert at fooling around."
"No," Dimi said, glancing sideways at the girl, "you seem to do whatever comes to mind, but in my opinion, you never do anything you're not sure about." Even this time...... Victoria, you're still sure, aren't you? β
"What?"
"Don't play dumb," said Dimy, his brain, which had just stopped for a short time, was turning again, "John Goth's guy is unreliable. Even you know...... It means that my father must know what I am doing. β
"Your Majesty has acquiesced in your 'going alone,'" the girl waved her hand, "or rather, Your Majesty has decided that it only makes sense for you to 'go alone'." β
"I understand my father's temperament," said Dimi, "and he won't ...... Well, he does. But Prime Minister Fred will definitely stop him. They wouldn't let me take that risk, not even the slightest. In other words, they already have a way out for you and me, or a chance of winning that I didn't plan, right? β
"Uh......"
"It seems that I guessed correctly," looking at the girl's surprised expression, Dimi smiled knowingly, "You know that we have an unexpected chance of winning, so we will appear here with peace of mind." β
"I don't know if you're smart or slow." The girl muttered. Whenever he despises Dimi, this guy always bursts with amazing intuition......
"That's the odds. Can you tell me? Dimi asked.
"Yes," said the girl solemnly, "but in my judgment. We'll go into the manor together as you originally planned, and don't rely on that hole card. If you agree, I'll wait until the time is right......"
"Then do as you say." Dimi nodded, and had no intention of getting to the bottom of it.
"Obviously, you will be the one who will be the emperor in the future," the girl said with a complicated expression, "Dimi, you are willing to be commanded by others." Is that really good? β
"I trust your judgment, Victoria," said Dimy, "and, you usually have to do what I tell you to do." β
"Naturallyβthough, something like 'try to cast a spell so that no one around you can hear what we're talking about,'" the girl said with a smile, "I've just let Vicky take care of herself." Now tell me about your specific plans, Dimi. β
"Well," Dimi blushed, the girl seemed impulsive but always had a sure way to do things, "then I'll work hard for you from now on, Victoria." β
