Chapter Seventy-Four: Checking the Eyes (I)

Harry Potter was an unusual boy in many ways.

For example, he hates summer vacation the most of the year.

For another example, he actually wanted to do his summer homework, but he had to do it secretly in the middle of the night.

Also, he happens to be a wizard.

Even more surprising was that he had accidentally (well, maybe not accidentally) blown up his aunt-in-law, Mr. Dursley's sister, his cousin Dudley's, tonight.

Then, with his heavy suitcase and his owl Hedwig, he ran away from home (well, maybe that place can't be called "home").

……

"Fluorescent flicker!"

Harry felt that someone or something was watching him in the dark, so he cast a spell with the wand he had been holding tightly in his hand to see what it was.

Anyway, today he has used magic illegally (the Reasonable Restraint of Underage Wizards Act, which prohibits underage wizards from using magic outside of school), and the result is nothing more than being expelled from Hogwarts or someone from the Ministry of Magic rushing to arrest him, which will not be worse.

(The original text is quoted below, slightly abridged)

He raised his wand high above his head, and the cobblestone façade of No. 2 Privet Road was illuminated in a flash.

Between the wall and the garage, Harry could clearly see a large, black eye.

Harry stepped back, his legs slamming into the box and tripping over it.

He stretched out an arm to keep his balance, and his wand flew out of his hand, slamming heavily into the gutter.

With a deafening "Bang! A bright light suddenly shot over, and Harry hurriedly covered his eyes with his hands—

Then he screamed and rolled onto the pavement.

Luckily, they dodged in time, and a second later, with a creak, a pair of huge wheels and lights stopped where Harry had been lying.

Harry looked up and saw that the wheels and lights belonged to a bright purple triple-decker bus.

It seemed to come out of nowhere, and on the windshield it was written in gold letters - Rider Bus.

……

For a moment, Harry thought it was the fall that had confused him.

Then, a conductor in a purple uniform jumped out of the bus and spoke loudly into the night.

"Welcome aboard the Knight Bus – an emergency vehicle for transporting distressed wizards.

Just stretch out your hand with your wand, board the car, and we'll get you wherever you want to go.

My name is Stan Sampak, and I'm your conductor tonight—"

(Above, end of quote)

Harry paid the verbose conductor fourteen silver sicos (the base ticket price is eleven sico, plus three sicoles to get hot chocolate, and one more sicao to get a toothbrush and a hot water bottle, whatever the color is - stupid author, I'm scared of the prices in the wizarding world, but fortunately Lin Xiaoan only uses gold galleons), and he's going to London—

All he had left was the wizard's currency (pound sterling?). What is that? Harry said he hadn't owned even half a pound since he was born) and had a personal account in Gringotts, so Diagon Alley was his only option.

……

The knight's bus was unreasonably rampage, making a deafening thud at every turn (Muggles couldn't hear it), jumping a hundred miles in one jump (yes, it was a jump), and not looking at the road at all.

The street lights, mailboxes, garbage cans, roadside trees, houses, etc., all dodge automatically when the car drives past, and then return to the original position when the car passes.

Harry couldn't sleep at all, he lay on the brass bed behind the driver with his eyes open (there were six or seven of these beds in the car, and there were no seats—the knight's bus had three tiers, and the upper two compartments probably had the same number of beds), distraught and worried, not knowing what would happen next—

"Squeak—"

The sudden emergency braking nearly caused Harry to roll out of bed, and Harry could hear the upper compartment really (!) Someone fell, making a loud "poof" sound.

……

"What's going on—"

Before Harry could finish his sentence, the door was opened from the outside—

The sluggish conductor and the older driver both warily drew their wands and pointed them at the door.

"Whoever it is, I warn you - your act of forcibly stopping a speeding knight's bus has violated Article 7, Paragraph 66 of the Wizarding Road Safety Act-"

"Dobby has found Harry's little master!"

A turquoise ugly head with eyes as big as a tennis ball and bulging reached in, and when he saw Harry, the whole house-elf rushed into the car: "Little Master Harry is in the car!" Dobby saw it! ”

"Well done, Dobby!"

Immediately afterwards, Lin Xiaoan and his family's fortune and fortune were rich and auspicious, and one person and four family elves also got into the car one after another.

"Hi ~ Harry ~ Good evening ~ "

Harry: "......"
