Chapter 428: All-Star Record
With a certain flair and flamboyance, Los Angeles is the host city when adding to any sporting event. At the 2018 NBA All-Star Celebration, Hollywood did not disappoint in meeting its standards.
From the arrival of a handful of players to numerous celebrities late last week, NBA legends and, of course, the actual All-Star Court Sunday night All-Star Game, the big and bold moment of this All-Star Weekend.
It's by no means the most important thing, and the final list is for the weekend. But if you don't know how to miss them, these 10 moments and events - in no particular order, will be listed in the NBA All-Star legends for years to come:
The format change for the 67th All-Star Game, with Captain James and Stephen Curry choosing their roster, proved to be an exciting success. And the game itself, the last crazy minute, is worth all the despair. Defense-ins-hen-it-matters reached all the promises at the last second, accompanied by the resets of players involved in it, and we all watched. Team LeBron's furious 28-12 comeback in the final 6 minutes of the game is a practical, real-life competition. Both sides will, and the worst way to win is for everyone to ask for - this and the draft TV player (which may come soon...) )。
First-time All-Stars Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards), Victor Oladipo (Indiana Pacers), Karl-Anthony Town (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers) had a great time playing Sunday night. Embiid stands out from the crowd and could take home MVP accolades if Team Stephen holds the final lead. He took what he had from Team LeBron (see him back and forth with Westbrook early and physical wrestling LeBron late), and that's exactly the process you want it to be.
Anthony Davis represented the right way for his All-Star New Orleans Pelicans teammate DeMarcus cousins to start the game with the uninhibited No. 0 jersey team LeBron. Big easy bromance among the people of the fest is real.
Friday night's Mtn Dew Kick-Off Nova Tournament lives its bill, the Boston Celtics' Jay Brown title game filled with some of the league's most exciting young stars that could make some appearances on Sunday night in Charlotte next year 2020 and Chicago.
As we mentioned, the City of Angels did not disappoint as the host of the All-Star Weekend, which marked the sixth league showcase event taking place here. From the gala scene, it seems to stretch to the stellar concentration in the southern country to the Staples Center, the center of Los Angeles downtown life and the basketball universe for the long weekend, Los Angeles.
Of all the great shooters people capturing hardware over the years, nothing Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker brought home Saturday night **L Electronic Three-Point Contest Championship. Booker's 28-point final duel and Splash Brothers and 2016 champion Klay Thompson was an event record. He knocked down an evil 20 25 times, the monster in the last round.
The oldest player proved to be the best in Sunday's game. LeBron James collected his third Kachin Independence Army All-Star Game MVP trophy with an intensity close to a triple-double performance (29 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists).
If you didn't know Donovan Mitchell's name before the State Farm All-Star Saturday night, you did it now. Utah Jazz rookie Verizon slam dunk contest took the limelight to introduce itself to the world without the NBA league launching new stars through superb performance. Mitchell's family (his little sister Jordan), new friends (comedian Kevin Hart and his son) and history (jazz dunk champion and legendary Darrell Griffith/Vince Carter Toronto Raptors jersey) proved timely. Mitchell out-dueled the Cleveland Cavaliers' Larry sissy subtitle, making sure the headline with his singing Carter in his final dunk.
In the 2017 All-Star Game in New Orleans, the Western Stars defeated the Eastern Stars 192-182, and the two sides combined for 374 points, breaking last year's all-time All-Star scoring record of 369 points.
The most All-Star MVPs in history are Bob Pettit and Kobe Bryant, both of whom have won four times (Pettit in 1956, 1958, 1959 and 1962, while Kobe Bryant won in 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011).
There have been two people in NBA history who have accomplished the feat of winning back-to-back All-Star MVPs: Bob Pettit and Russell Westbrook. The Eagles were the All-Star MVP in 1958-1959, while Willow won the All-Star MVP in 2015-2016.
In the 20 years from 1970 to 1989, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was selected as an All-Star a total of 19 times and participated in 18 of them.
From 1998 to 2016, in those 19 years, Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was named an All-Star starter a total of 18 times (he was not selected as an All-Star in 1999 and did not have an All-Star game in 1999 due to a suspension), but he only attended 15 of them due to injuries.
In the 2017 New Orleans All-Star Game, Pelican forward Anthony Davis scored 52 points at home, breaking the previous All-Star single-game scoring record of 42 points held by Zhang Dashuai.
In the 2017 New Orleans All-Star Game, Cavaliers forward LeBron James' All-Star career total points exceeded 300, becoming the first person in history! He currently ranks first on the All-Star all-time scoring list with 314 points.
In the 1962 All-Star Game in St. Louis, Hawks legend Bob Pettit grabbed 27 rebounds, a record that no one has broken to this day.
In the 1984 Denver All-Star Game, Lakers Magic Johnson handed out 22 assists in the game, taking the All-Star single-game assist record in the bag.
There are a total of four people in NBA history who have had a triple-double in the All-Star Game: Jordan, James, Wade and Durant.
In the 1997 Cleveland All-Star Game, Michael Jordan had a triple-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.
In the 2011 Los Angeles All-Star Game, LeBron James had a triple-double of 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
In the 2012 Orlando All-Star Game, Dwyane Wade had a triple-double of 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
In the 2017 New Orleans All-Star Game, Kevin Durant had a triple-double of 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
The NBA All-Star Game sounds like an exhibition game, and All-Star Weekend is like a party for players to get together, with the perfect combination of fashion and basketball, so tickets to the annual NBA All-Star Game are hard to come by. The stars are happy to show themselves in the game, and all kinds of coquettish dunks and violent dunks are eye-catching and addictive to the fans. But it is still difficult to score 40 points in the game, after all, All-Star players will want to show themselves, only 5 people in NBA history have done it, Kobe Bryant and James have not done it, but 3 stars in the current team have done it.
