Chapter 4: The Snow in Northrend (Part II)
The cold is like the touch of death.
When a squad of more than eighty people arrived at the abandoned village, the soldiers found that everything here seemed to be shrouded in an eerie atmosphere.
The fire looked like it had just been extinguished, and the embers still had a temperature. The thatched hut was littered with all kinds of tools and hunting weapons, not tools used by ordinary humans, but like those used by giants. A spear was three or four meters long, and the throwing weapon resembled a legion spear used in defense in the hands of Lordaeron's soldiers.
There were also things that sat on rudimentary furniture, like astrolabes, and even the wizards who accompanied them couldn't figure out what they were for. The captain had to hurriedly give the order to find food in the shortest possible time and transport it back to the fortress. It's the only purpose for which they go out.
However, after a lot of fiddling with the group, the only food found was a few boxes of spoiled wheat and a pile of rotting fruit.
"There are no living people here, not even living creatures, I should say."
The guards came over and reported briefly. He smelled of carrion, from the time he was handling food.
"Also, all the food we found was rotten and spoiled, and some of the fruit was rotten."
The guards continued to report. It can be seen that his expression is very painful, and it can be imagined that when a group of people strode into the house, they stepped on a swarm of maggots under their feet, and this feeling would be disgusting for anyone.
"Okay, pack up, we're ready to evacuate."
League captain Cabas returns.
The members of the squad began to carry the weapons of the giants, which were rough and large, but they were still useful for defense. It's not easy to get out on a trip, and you have to take something back with you at the risk of being attacked by wild beasts.
However, just as everyone was unsuspecting to carry weapons and supplies, a terrifying scream came from the dilapidated thatched hut.
Captain Kabas hurriedly led the soldiers around him to draw their swords and rush into the hut. Here they saw a terrible scene. A decomposing giant corpse emerges from the ground. The mighty body of the Viku came back to life, and the Alliance soldier who had been attacked first was grabbed by the ankle by the outstretched hand from the ground, and then dragged into the ground. His upper body disappeared from the ground after a struggle.
And the giant warriors who "broke through the ground" wielded their terrifying weapons and slew every Alliance warrior present.
"Viku!"
The guards shouted heartbreakingly, but as soon as the words fell, the giant's axe slashed into the air, and with an axe it split his neck, blood spurting out of the broken veins like a fountain.
The bloody images spurred these undead giants on even more brutal slaughter.
Weapons of astonishing size were wielded in the hut, and almost no one could withstand such a heavy blow, and the shields of the Alliance were vulnerable and vulnerable to the battle axes and stone hammers of the Vikus. A large area of iron was dented, and the left hand of a coalition soldier holding a shield was directly broken into a bone.
In the midst of the screams, the Viku warrior grabbed his head and twisted it brutally, only to hear the sound of bones cracking, and the Union soldier was directly twisted and his neck was broken.
The scene was terrifying, and Captain Cabas rushed out of the hut with his men, only to find that the abandoned camp was filled with such bloody images. The Viku had already laid an ambush, and they emerged from the ground, not giving the Alliance troops a little space for casting spells and archery, and went directly into battle with their bare arms, slaughtering in close combat.
No matter how strong the human race is, they can't fight these ancient giants, they were originally the ancestors of the human race, and now, strengthened by the dark power of the Lich King, ordinary human soldiers can only be slaughtered.
Cabas sounded the rallying call, but in the face of powerful giants and chaotic scenes, the human team was simply unable to form a unified battle formation. Only the ranger's nimble reach can be relied on to suppress the Viku attack.
In fact, it could only be so, and several Alliance soldiers came together to form a makeshift shield formation to try to resist the onslaught of the Vikus. But after a deafening roar, the Viku warhammer struck away the emaciated body of the Alliance warrior and shattered the shield of a dwarven warrior with another hammer. The strong dwarven warrior instantly turned into a pile of meat sauce lying on the ground...... The blood-stained stone hammers of the Viku warriors continued to strike......
Fortunately, the mage's ice arrows blocked the giant's attack, and countless ice crystals appeared on the wrists and palms of the Viku, and the power of the frost froze the entire right arm of the Viku warrior. Then, the Ranger of Quel'Thalas shot an arrow through the giant's heart.
With black blood, clusters of silver arrows pierced through the backs of the Viku warriors.
This is the only way the Alliance squad can kill these giant warriors.
Even Cabas himself was nearly killed in the battle, as the Viku's tomahawk grazed his shoulders and smashed into the ground, sending a mist of snow and snow up in the air, while Cabas turned around and plunged his sword into the giant's thigh. The Viku let out a roar of pain, but just as he was about to crush the daring little human warrior, the mage's black ice arrow pierced his arm, and the sound of ice crystals shattering was heard, and a startling triangular hole appeared in the muscles of the Viku warrior's strong arm. Inside, white bones are faintly visible.
At the giant's screams, Captain Cabas drew his weapon and stabbed his sword into the body of the Viku warrior from behind. Blood seeped from the torn flesh of the Viku warriors, staining Captain Kabas's hands red. A strong smell of blood permeated the abandoned village.
In the midst of the scuffle, the Veku, who raided the Alliance team, fought and retreated, roaring with rage, without a language of their own, like bloodthirsty beasts.
"Catch them! Keep your mouth alive! ”
Seeing that the Viku were about to retreat, the panting captain Cabas shouted.
The Ranger and Mage were on the move again, and the only Stalker Assassin in the group sprang forward, dagger in both hands, running at high speed as he shot at the Viku who had fallen behind the group.
A slightly smaller Viku warrior was brought down, and the Assassin's dagger went into his ankle. When the giant fell to the ground, even the ground trembled slightly. The remaining Viku wanted to save their companions, but the mage's illusion disoriented them lost.
In the confusion, more than a dozen Alliance soldiers sprinkled their nets on the lone Viku warrior.
"**, finally caught one."
Panting captain Cabas rushed from behind.
The Viku warrior who had been caught in the net was wounded in the ankle, but his strength was still great, and it took a dozen Alliance soldiers to subdue him.
"We need to hand him over to the High Lord, this may be an important piece of information and clue."
The team leader continued......
