Chapter 3: The Girl and the Lewd Demon King
Lapura Village.
During the day, the village is very busy. Hunters go up to the mountains to hunt, men are busy watering and weeding fields, old people and women are busy cooking and washing clothes, and all are working hard to make a living.
With Natalie's cloak around her waist, Green followed the maiden through the wooden fence and into the village.
It is a village full of nature.
The village is small, most of the houses are made of wood, but there are a few that are made of stone, and the main road of the village is made of gravel to ensure that you can walk normally even when it rains. Some of the houses even have flower beds planted outside!
It seems that the level of civilization here is not too low, at least the level of architecture is not low. Glancing at the situation in the village, Green quickly made a judgment in his mind.
"Meow~ Natalie Meow, who's that brunette boy behind you?" On the watchtower of the wall, an old man in leather armor with cat ears on his head greeted the girl.
"Grandpa Asimow, this is the mage I met in the back mountain. He came here because of a magical accident. β
"Magician?" The cat-eared old man looked at Green with his amber cat eyes, "He seems to have your cloak around his waist?" β
"All his clothes and equipment were lost in the accident." The girl explained.
ββ¦β¦ It was a terrible accident. The old man with cat ears looked Green up and down, "Hello, young man, my name is Axin Meow, and I am the guard of this village, if you dare to make trouble in the village, I will not spare you!" β
"Grandpa Asimow, he doesn't understand what you're saying." Natalie laughed, "He seems to be from another country." β
The cat-eared old man looked at Green in surprise, and then at Natalie, "Then how did you communicate with him?" β
"Mr. Mage has a spell that allows him to communicate with people." Natalie waved her hands as if trying to strengthen her expressive abilities, "It's an amazing ability, but it comes at a cost to use that spell. If you want to communicate with Mr. Mage, you need to provide enough food so that he has the strength to perform his magic. β
The old man with cat ears was dumbfounded: "Need food?" Casting spells with food? β
"Yes." Natalie nodded and smiled slightly, "Amazing, isn't it?" β
"It's not like I've never seen a magician when I'm younger, but it's the first time I've encountered one who uses food to cast spells."
β¦β¦
When Natalie communicates with the cat-eared uncle, Green can't help but look at the old man's head.
The cat-eared old man looks short, only half the height of ordinary people, and his short body makes him look like a legendary dwarf, but he has a pair of cat ears on his head. Obviously, Cat-Eared Uncle and Natalie are not of the same race.
"In other words, is the world a multi-racial mixed world? Judging by the communication between them, the world ...... Or is there no serious ethnic conflict or racial discrimination in the village? β
Green quietly used a [Fluent Language] that lasted for an hour and a half, eavesdropping on the communication between Natalie and the cat-eared uncle. Verbal Proficiency does not allow Grimm to communicate with other people, but it lasts much longer, giving Grimm more time to listen to others and gather information about the world.
Natalie led Green into the village and soon came to the tavern.
There is only one tavern in the village of La Pula, but it is clear that the business of the tavern alone is not enough to sustain itself in such a small village. As a result, the tavern in La Plata Village not only sells alcohol, beverages, and food, but also functions as a hotel, a grocery store, and an adventure union.
"Boss, I've brought you a guest." Natalie led Green into the tavern, and placed the boar skin and boar tooth on the table.
The tavern owner glanced at the things on the table: "Natalie, how is the investigation in the back mountain?" β
"A boar, but it's been dealt with by this traveler." Natalie gestured to Green behind her, "These are his trophies. β
The tavernkeeper looked Green up and down, and glanced at the barefoot girl peeking out from under his cloak, "Looks like you've had a lot going on." β
"Boss, he plans to sell the boar's skin and teeth for money and clothes." Natalie pointed to something on the table and spoke.
"Oh." The boss picked up the leather on the table and observed, "The teeth are okay, but the leather is too badly damaged to be worth much." β
"Although the damage is serious, the area of leather is not small."
"Teeth pentasemide, leather...... For your sake, even if he is a silver horn. β
"Boss, do you have cheap old clothes here? His clothes and pants were lost. Natalie asked.
The tavern owner touched his bald head and smiled wryly, "Hey, hey, Natalie, I'm not charitable. Even old clothes can't be bought with this amount of money. β
"Woo! ~All right. β
The trade was quickly over, and the tavernkeeper put away his goods, then placed a small silver coin and a few copper coins on the table.
Natalie handed the money to Green: "The leather is too badly damaged to sell for so much money." β
"Thank you~" Green smiled slightly, took a few coins, and then looked at them carefully in his hand.
The workmanship of the coin is rough, the edges of the coin are delicately jagged, and the pattern on the coin is not very clear.
To some extent, money represents the highest level of science and technology of a civilization. From the appearance of the currency, Green can see that the level of basic industry in this world should not be very good.
"It seems that the cultural and economic situation of this world should be in the period from the Middle Ages to the Enlightenment."
Green put the money away. I don't know what the purchasing power of money in this world is, but judging from the overheard conversations, I am afraid that this amount of money will not buy anythingβit may be difficult to even buy food, let alone clothes. With the productivity of the Middle Ages, the price of craft products may not be too low.
Natalie chats with the tavernkeeper for a while, and gets a commission from the tavernkeeper for investigating the back mountain. Natalie then leaves the tavern and takes Green to her house.
"Come to my house, I still have a set of old clothes, you should barely be able to wear them." Natalie didn't care if Green could understand her words, and said to Green in a chatter.
Listening to the girl's words, a smile couldn't help but appear on Green's face.
After crossing over, it is undoubtedly very lucky to be able to meet such a kind girl in the case of language barriers.
Although Green is not afraid of encountering "bad guys", it is better to say that if he encounters "ill-intentioned people", Green's survival will be less difficult - because before the chaos magic power is exhausted, Green's combat effectiveness is not weak, and if he encounters ill-intentioned people, Green can carry out "self-defense and counterattack" without psychological obstacles. But if you do that, it will take more time and energy to integrate into the world.
Led by Natalie, Green came to a very modest cabin.
Very modest dwellings, with stone walls, wooden roofs and floors, and small sizes, look like some small cottages in the countryside, but they look very cozy.
Natalie entered the house, walked through the front living room, entered her room, and pulled out a pair of linen shorts and a short-sleeved shirt from the box, and handed them to Green, along with a pair of wooden slippers.
"I see you're about the same size as me, you try. I don't have many shoes, just a pair of slippers. β
Green took the clothes and pants handed over by the girl and quickly changed them.
"Oh! You look good when you put it on! A smile crossed Natalie's face.
"Thank you." In the way of the game, Green made a mage salute to the girl, "I will remember your help to me." β
Natalie looked at Green with curiosity on her face. The girl couldn't understand Green's words, but she could feel a hint of solemnity in Green's movements.
Blinking, Natalie spoke, "I'm going to the labyrinth next, you can do whatever you want in the village...... Ah, it's over. You don't understand what I'm saying. β
Green looked at the girl and blinked. Maze? The girl seemed to say something that made Green feel a little curious.
"Woo......" Natalie struggled for a moment, "Forget it! No matter! Anyway, when you get there, you should be able to understand what I'm going to do. β
