Chapter 163: Velociraptor

It was a lush, verdant world, between the steaming water, towering trees towering and not seeing, python-like vines clinging to it, and tangled down, under the giant trees, clumps of ferns were impermeable, and Diego guessed that even a legion hidden in them could not see anything. Near the riverbank, in a sparsely wooded area, there were coconut palms and Terabim banana trees, which were clearly the monkeys' favourite, and Diego occasionally heard monkey cries coming from the trees, but could not be seen.

The rainforest was extremely humid, with puddles and rivers of varying shades, and after only a day, Diego and Masrae were soaking wet and sticky. But that's not the worst, and even worse, Diego discovers that they've lost track of Stavin and that finding a necromancer in the thriving tropical jungle where everything grows is harder than finding a needle in a haystack.

"He didn't come ashore from here." After carefully perceiving the messages emitted by the plants on the shore, Masrae said with some tiredness. Since the banks of the river are full of ferocious and greedy crocodiles, it is difficult for him to find friendly animals to communicate with, because they are wild druids, not the ones who are good at communicating with plants, and he can get much more vague information from plants than from animals, and they can only tell Masrae abstract signals, such as danger, death, water, sunlight, etc.

"What then? Shall we continue downstream? Diego asked, to be honest, his tracking skills were completely useless on the river, and he couldn't wait to hear that Staven had landed, but it backfired.

"It seems that this is the only way to go." Masrae said, propping up the penny.

They walked downstream for another half a day. Here the dark river turns and flows eastward. Traces began to appear on both sides of the river. It is the remnants of the ancient troll empire of Gulag, and with the destruction of the empire, these ancient ruins gradually became inaccessible, decadent and desolate.

Diego began to get a little agitated. For he knew that the river would open up on the plains downstream, converging into a huge lake, Lake Neferiti, where the necromancer could come ashore anywhere. Tracking down a necromancer on that vast and winding shoreline becomes a true fantasy.

He watched the river as it turned from rapidity to gentleness, but he couldn't do anything about it—it was a terrible feeling. At this moment, however, he saw the jungle not far from the riverbank. The dense ferns shook violently, and the roar of muskets came from within them. He bet he heard the shouts and the roars of the beasts.

Diego rose from the plank, Death Gaze in his hands, and looked there wary. Beside him, the Night Elves carefully rested the penny sideways on the boat—it was the last one they had ever held on, after Masrae had lost the other in the mud at the bottom of the river.

They didn't have to wait long, and after a few minutes, they saw the bushes in the distance be pushed away, and a human in red leather armor rushed out of it. Then a human female, and another dozen seconds passed. The two dwarves rushed out of the bushes together, to be precise—they spun in the air and landed on their backs, their muskets aimed at the jungle behind them.

It was evident that both dwarves were experienced marksmen, and their handling, according to their gun stance, and their rock-solid hands illustrated it.

The crocodiles, who were lying quietly on the riverbank, were startled by the sudden rush out of the forest and slipped into the water. But they didn't leave. Instead, they're looking for an opportunity – and while they're not hungry, they don't mind filling their teeth with an after-dinner dessert.

But there's always a first and there's always a last, and it's not just them that keep an eye on this delicious meal. Just as chickens and dogs jumped on the riverbank, two whip-tailed velociraptors covered in dark green stripes rushed out of the jungle.

The moment he saw the two dwarves, the two velociraptors jumped and pounced. In the wide open mouth, the dense sharp teeth flashed with a palpitating cold light.

With two loud gunshots, orange gunfire burst out from the muskets in the hands of the dwarves lying on the ground. At the same time, two humans were launched. However, they used crossbows, which were much less powerful. For a while, the bullets and arrows flew together, and the two velociraptors shook and fell to the ground, one of them died directly, while the other was still lying on the ground, convulsing, and could not breathe for a while.

Humans and dwarves let out a cheerful cry in unison. But to the great joy of the tragedy, before the two dwarves could get up from the ground, the bushes shook again, and the five-headed velociraptor jumped out of it.

They let out an angry roar at the sight of their companion's corpse on the ground, and then lunged down on the four hunters who were celebrating their escape.

The two dwarves were using old dwarven muskets with traditional breech charges, and they had no time to reload, so they had to raise the bayonets at the front of the muskets and meet them.

The two humans who were still using the crank to put arrows on the crossbow in their hands did not flinch, they directly threw away the crossbow in their hands, drew the dagger at their waist and rushed towards the velociraptor .

Just then, they heard someone shouting on the river behind them.

"Get down!" It was the authentic lingua franca of humanity, with a hint of Stormwind Kingdom accent.

They did so without hesitation. As for the dwarves, they were indifferent, but their height obviously did not affect Diego's shooting range.

The roar of the musket resounded through the riverbank, and the velociraptor at the front of it was like being struck by an invisible hammer, and its head slammed to the side, and then it fell to the ground with a bang, rolling on the ground a few times, nearly crushing the dwarf underneath.

The guns rang out five times in a row, and the velociraptor lay down five heads, and a single shot was useless. The five-headed velociraptor fell in front of several fugitives, looking like a mountain of meat.

Several people were completely dumbfounded, and they turned their heads to look at Diego in disbelief, who was still staring at death on the river, and their eyes were about to fly out.

Although Diego is not in the mood to show off now, it is still very satisfying to be looked up to like this.

At this moment, a huge puff of water splashed out of the water, and among the scattered droplets of water, a giant crocodile jumped out of the water and pounced on the female human. It finally couldn't resist the tooth sacrifice.

But it clearly didn't pick the right day. The deafening sound of gunfire rang out again, and the crocodile shuddered in the air before slamming down like a stake on the sand.

It looks like it's going to be beaten tonight - it's said that the tender crocodile meat can be made into several dishes, and is very delicious, and is famous throughout Azeroth, and is a favorite of the gourmets. (To be continued.) )
