The Elemental Plane and the Four Lords

(The original article is copyrighted by Blizzard, translated by Turtle Gem Bistro owner Ina Minley.) )

The Elemental Plane is a world divided into three levels. From every outside point of view, it is very similar to the rest of the world - at least in the air and on land. The plane of qi is above the middle plane, and it is supported by the realm of water and earth (both of which are on the same level). Underneath them is the third level - the realm of fire and the decomposing lava. A visitor who arrives at this plane by chance will think, at least in the short term, that he is on an ordinary planet that may be a little unstable.

description

When the Titans defeated the Elder Gods and brought order to the world, imprisoning the Elemental Lords and their minions in the Warped Void became one of the first things they did. These messengers of chaos must be forbidden to move freely, or the order that the Titans are trying to create will be disrupted. Thus, the Titans created a separate plane to imprison their ancient enemies. After a brief period, the Titans imprisoned all the elements they could find in this sloppy prison. The plane created by this Titan is a rather small sphere - probably the size of a single world. Above this world, a yellow ball that emits light and heat hovers, acting as the "sun" of this complete world. Ordinary gravitational attraction attracts objects to the inside of the sphere - where the field of fire is located. A layer of rock, perpetually filled with cavities, supports the earth and water on the surface. Above this, layers of air enveloped the earth, never accessible to the chaotic flames below.

The planet is twisted in a strange way that tends to hinder the creatures of Azeroth. With the adaptation to the planet's ability to bind, it is no longer possible to escape by ordinary means of movement. A creature struggles to escape the simple and brutal cycle of this planet and go to the other side. Therefore, if he crosses the sea by boat, he will eventually reach the other side of the world's only continent. The continent itself is slightly larger than Kalim, and the width of the sea is almost the same in all directions.

The four elements that make up this plane are constantly opposing and fighting each other, sometimes fiercely. Volcanoes tear through solid coverings, striking as much as they can on the land and the sea. The air forms unpredictable storms, forming tornadoes and hurricanes that sweep across the planet's surface. Even in the devastation of these calamities, life remains, just as the life of Azeroth fills the sky and the earth, and the lives of the sages that are not yet known.

Characteristics and geography

The elemental plane is made up of four realms: air, earth, fire, and water. Each realm is ruled by an elemental lord who lives in a fortress or a special area.

Gas: Sky Wall / The Skywall

Qi is above the middle level of the elemental plane, and when you first catch a glimpse of it, it is very similar to the sky of Azeroth. A yellow sun, steady hovering in the air, surrounded by floating clouds and other material, an even wilder storm. Birds and some of the stranger creatures flew around.

Above the sun, where the ground is invisible, sits a fortress of the air element. The thick walls that hung from the columnar storm were made of stone stolen from the earth element. Lightning and strong winds swept through the Sky Wall, making it nearly impossible to fly nearby.

Inside the fortress, Orakir the Wind Rider controls the government and rules over his elemental kind. He likes to watch the elemental planes when they are calm, and to wander under the guise of thunderclouds. Sometimes, he would attack the ocean and the earth below for no apparent reason, though the rest of the time he avoided fighting the other elements. No one knows his true motives.

Roaming in the Land of the Air requires the ability to fly, but it can still be dangerous. In addition to the thick clouds, there is a sparse distribution of wind elements that walk in the sky. The Wall of Sky is a place of intense hurricanes and arcs of lightning, as well as places where air currents rise wildly and dark clouds writh in anger.

Atmosphere: Al'Akirthewindlord

Orakir rules the skies of the elemental plane. His territory borders on all the other elementals, and the Sky Wall has more influence with the rest of the elemental realms than with the rest of the realms, but he is the most fickle and withdrawn of all the elemental lords. Just as he would suddenly cause a conflict, he would probably ignore the invasion of the Sky Wall by other elements after the conflict. His emotions are as fickle as the weather.

Olakiel fights with his advantage in speed. He will first surprise those flying enemies in return for his provocation to his air dominance. Trying to climb into the skies to fight him is a dangerous idea. Once the enemies in the sky have been wiped out, he will usually use his whirlwind abilities to sweep away the creatures on the ground, holding them high in the air and then abandoning them, and no matter how they provoke the forces of Orakir, they will be punished with this cruelty.

Even though Olakir is the weakest of the Elemental Lords, it is difficult for other Lords to attack him with all their might in his territory. He rarely attacks them directly, choosing instead to retaliate indirectly with the disasters he can when he needs to retreat in the face of adversity.

Olakir is the absolute supreme ruler of the sky. He was feared by the other air elementals as well as the flying creatures. Legend has it that he is capable of all the air magic of the multiverse. Even if this is true, he rarely solves those tough problems in person, unless the problems have affected him.

Dirt: Deep Nest / Dihome

Below the wall of the sky, in the distance is a continent known as the Deep Lair. The surface is rough, covered with rifts and sinkholes, and earthquakes occur regularly. When the lower Flame Realm breaks through the earth, majestic volcanoes will be formed, until the earth elementals of Thrathane stop the invasion.

The Deep Lair is made up of caves, tunnels, and countless entrances and exits. It's full of worms, cave creatures, and other underground creatures. All types of jadeite and gemstones can be found here, even those unknown to the world of Azeroth, but they are believed to be Thrathein's personal property. In her country, any mining activity is forbidden. Some sages believe that a few precious stones possess powerful natural magical powers, but this conjecture may never be confirmed.

On the surface of the earth, life is hard to survive, but strong plants and animals are trying to survive there. Their lives are short and dangerous, but the Mother of Stone Thraseen will raise them as much as she can. Attacking those of her "children" is the quickest way to make her hate you.

In a few places, the surface of the Deep Nest resembles some of Azeroth's rocky and gravel spots. Those who come to the elemental plane can rest there for a while, although the earth is shaking horribly regularly.

Elemental Lord

Soil: Therazahestonemother

Thrathine is like she chose to be, she is a formidable opponent, but she is the most peace-loving of all the elemental lords. She encourages the growth of all things with patience and maternal love, and loves only to rest long hours with the creatures that make their home in her land. She often felt like she was at war with the other elemental lords: Orakir eroded her surface with the wind, Neptulon washed her shores with his waves all the time, and Ragnaros, a hot furnace, stirred her core. If the three of them left, she would be overjoyed.

Thrathine was hard to get angry and tried to avoid fighting. If she rises to the challenge, she's still a formidable opponent. Her trick is to charge at the most dangerous enemies, smashing her target into tiny shards, after which she will move to the next one. When she faces a real challenge, she will quickly sink into the earth and retreat.

Thrathane, the Mother of Stone, is the ruler of earth, dust, stone, and mountains. She is revered by all earth elementals and creatures that dwell under the earth. Some wild druids see her as the embodiment of world peace and tranquility. Some sages believe that she felt pain when the earth wept as Deathwing and his kind tore apart. Even so, she didn't do anything about the dragon.

Water: Bottomless Abyss/Ambisomo (Theabyssalmaw)

The oceans of the elemental plane are brewing all the time, and they use waves and storms to attack the land that surrounds them. The ocean stretches as far as the eye can see, and in many places it is deep, and sometimes it has almost reached the realm of fire below. The liquid itself is constantly changing—sometimes salty and cloudy, sometimes light and clean. There are a lot of elemental creatures in zài with some large beasts like the octopus monster, but the ocean has no concern for life.

The tide hunter Nepturon lives in the depths of the ocean, fearfully protecting his kingdom from a threat. His kingdom is called the bottomless abyss. He and the Firedemon Ragnaros never ceased, and Ragnaros tried to wreak havoc on the ocean with his rage breaking through the earth's crust. Tide hunters have always made the seas turbulent, striking the land with waves and storms. The cunning and powerful Nepturon has many secrets that, for many reasons, are truly known only to aquatic creatures.

On the surface of the ocean in the elemental plane, there are rocky islets scattered around, still resisting the endless invasion of the earth by Neptulon. At the farthest point from the country of Thrasein, floats Frostland, a mile (1,600 m) wide glacier. Like a giant iceberg, the Frost Land extends far below the surface of the sea, even touching the seabed. Smaller, large chunks of ice will occasionally break off and drift across the ocean, slowly melting as they approach the deep nest. Some icebergs can be overrun by ice elementals (elemental combinations) and other creatures.

Water: Neptulonthetidehunter

Nepturon the Tide Hunter is the soul of the deep sea, the realm he rules. For those who were noticed by him dared to ignore his anger and weave through the waves; And those who enter his realm without his permission, but who put themselves above him, he can play with you as he pleases. He has a penchant for attacking those who pride themselves on being invulnerable—constantly scouring the rocky beaches of the Mother Stone, ready to quench the flames of the Flame Demon.

Neptulon likes to play with his prey, dragging it into the water and letting it escape for a while. Sometimes, he banishes an unfortunate victim to an island and then allows him to be tormented by the tides and whirlpools. He usually tries to identify who will not be able to survive in the water for a long time and drag them to a distance, after which he will pick up the remaining opponents. He is especially fond of extinguishing flames, and has a deep hatred for the fire elementals.

Nepturon the Tide Hunter is the ruler of water, lakes, rivers, and seas. All water elementals and those creatures that will use water and cold as their primary abilities will revere him. Some people believe that when a wise creature is drowned, his soul will pass through the realm of Neptulon on its way to its final destination. He was supposed to keep these souls that pleased and interested him, but Neptulon laughed at the thought.

Fire: Fields of Fire/The Firelands

Deep beneath the earth and the sea, lies a world of flames and ashes—the realm of fire. Despite being a terrible land, the Ones who came were able to survive a cruel yet paradoxical cosmic law - fire needed air to survive and fuel to feed hunger. In the realm of flames, everything here is in an endless cycle - the ash itself is gradually transformed into future fuel, and when it is burned, it turns back into ashes.

In the middle of a great lake of fire stands the fortress of Saffron, the lair of Ragnaros the Firedemon. Until recently, he ruled his underground kingdom with an iron fist. Three hundred years ago, he was called to fight in the Dwarven Civil War, the War of the Three Hammers. This thoughtless action caused the Red Ridge Mountains to be torn apart, resulting in the formation of today's Black Stone Tower. Now, in the midst of a period of utter weakness, he remained quietly at the base of the volcano of Azeroth, trying to find his way home. During this period, in the territory of the Safron Fortress and other realms of fire, his elemental princes were locked in endless battles with each other for dominance.

The Flame Realm occupies the bottom of the "planet" of the Elemental Plane. Just as the bowl-shaped wall of sky is above the plane, the field of fire below has the same arc. The "earth" beneath the surface is dirty, sticky, bubbling tar, and ooze and stones falling from the sky, deep nests. In some places, lakes of fuel oil have formed, which burn all the time and spray hot soot into the air. The organisms and semi-organisms that fall from the deep nests, and even the liquids that seep in from the higher bottomless abyss, provide fuel for these unquenchable fires at all times. Where the Prince of Flame fought Thrathane, a huge volcano rose from the ground, and lava was splattered on and above the Flame Realm, sometimes reaching the bottom of the Bottomless Abyss and beyond, and beyond, where it would spew harmful smoke and dust into the realm of Aurakill.

Elemental Lord

Fire: RagnarostheFirelord

Later in the Dwarven Civil War, the War of the Three Hammers, Ragnaros was mistakenly summoned to Azeroth by the Black Iron King Thorrisson. Entering the material world, his arrival brought disaster - he tore apart the Red Ridge Mountains and formed the Blackstone Volcano. Ragnaros now lives in a volcano, waiting to escape from the material world. Although he had enslaved the Black Iron Dwarves who had summoned him, his ambitions had begun to ravage the nearby worlds.

Ragnaros belongs to the type who is willing to grieve all the time. In combat, he avoids attacking those who are immune or able to resist fire, and instead focuses on those who can be damaged by fire burning. If he is not able to inflict pain on his enemies, he will tear the ground beneath their feet and let the rushing lava ruin his enemies. If this move does not achieve the purpose he desires, he will usually retreat due to the loss of interest in continuing the fight. He will not be glorified for withdrawing from a battle that is frightened by him, nor will he be ashamed of withdrawing from a battle that has become boring.

Ragnaros, the firefiend, rules over fire, heat, and fire. He was revered by all the elements of fire and the creatures that used fire as their primary weapon, and those fears carried more weight than a few arsonists. Some mages were convinced that they had heard Ragnaros's contemptuous mockery when they were using high-level fire magic, but most of that seemed to be their imagination. Ragnaros will not be on his plane for now, as he has been summoned to Azeroth by the Black Iron Dwarves of Kazmodan. The Black Iron Dwarves are currently loyal to him, and he is trying to find a way back to the elemental plane, back to the realm of fire.

……

White Rabbit obediently note: I don't think that Ragnaros, the fire demon, will find a way back to the Flame Realm, you know, he was sealed in by the Titan gods. It was like a prison for him, and who would want to go back when he had a chance to get out? Silly?
