Act Six: The Bard
"Drive! Drive! Drive! ”
Two teenagers gallop on a dirt road, they don't know what they're going for, they just want to go.
"Rhine, walk this way, go through the forest in front of you and get on the road where those soldiers are transporting supplies!" Harrest took out the old man's map and confirmed the location, and then rushed into the forest with Rhine.
The forest was full of big trees, and there were not many branches, but the two teenagers still got off their horses and chose to walk.
The two men had been riding for a long time and were ready to give the horse a break. They each took the kettle out of the bag, fed the horse water, and let the horse graze within a certain range.
Harrest put his newly purchased cuirass on his body, and pinned two swords to his waist, one long and one short. Rhine was wearing that knight's armor and two swords on his body.
The soil in the forest was soft, completely different from the dirt roads in the village, which were trampled like stones.
Rhein: "Halles, how far are we from the Gate?" ”
Hallest: "The Giant Gate is only a hundred miles away from here, so let's find a tavern tonight and rest for the night, and set off tomorrow morning, and we will probably arrive in the evening." ”
Rhine: "Is there a location for the tavern on the map?" ”
Hallest: "Of course, it's all marked, and we are on the main road to see the direction, and there is one about ten miles ahead."
After resting for about half an hour, the two teenagers hit the road again, this time not in a hurry. On the road, the two walked slowly and leisurely along the side of the road. Although it is spring, it is already noon, and the horse may not be able to stand it if you run any more.
The ten-mile road slowly and leisurely lasted for an hour, and sure enough, as the map said, there was a relatively large tavern on the side of the road. Hallrest and Rhein are going to rest here today, and by the way, they will find out the information about the Giant Gate.
Harrest led the horse to the stable, and then went into the tavern with Rhine. There was no one in the tavern at noon, and the people who stayed yesterday were basically gone, and those who were in a hurry today haven't come yet.
There was a shopkeeper in the tavern who was drowsy, and the proprietress was keeping accounts, and a girl who was older than Harrest, probably the proprietress daughter, was counting money at the counter.
When the two teenagers entered, there was little movement, and the proprietress didn't notice.
"Boss, come two bowls of noodles, I want a super large bowl!" Harrester sat down at the table and shouted, he hadn't eaten in the morning, and was hungry now.
The girl was startled by the sudden shouting and thought that someone had entered the store to rob her. The little hand trembled, and the coin fell to the ground. The shopkeeper's drowsiness was also woken up, and he rubbed his eyes and looked at the two teenagers who had just come in.
"Lin'er, you go and give him two bowls of noodles, leave it to me here." The proprietress looked at the young man who looked like a hungry wolf, said to her daughter with a smile, and then squatted down to pick up the money herself.
"Hmm," Lin'er agreed, and ran to the back kitchen. This girl has an average appearance, but her face is very comfortable to look at, and she should belong to the kind of gentle and well-behaved type.
The shopkeeper looked at the two teenagers and was not accompanied by adults, and out of curiosity, he ran to sit with them.
"Hey, what are you two little brothers doing?" The shopkeeper asked directly.
"Eat noodles! I want a big bowl. Hallester misunderstood Xiao Er's meaning and said heroically.
"Haha, your Mian Lin has already done it, what I'm asking is that you two are going to Jumen Pass like this?" The shopkeeper looked at Halleste stunned and felt funny.
"That's right, I heard that the scenery is good when the giant gate is closed, and I want to go and see it." Hallester said.
"If you think the scenery of hell is good, go ahead...... shopkeeper is embarrassed.
"Is the situation there at Jumen Pass very serious?" Rhine took the helmet off and placed it on the table.
"The demons have been very dishonest recently, and they have attacked three times in half a month, and the scale is getting bigger and bigger each time. It is said that the corpses of soldiers and demons have been piled up outside the giant gate. The shopkeeper said as he stood up and compared the height of the corpses.
Halleste and Rhein looked at Xiao Er's height too exaggerated, and they didn't believe it.
"Don't believe me, the combined soldiers of the Templar and the Lord will pass by here tonight, and you will know by then." Xiao Er shook his hand and returned to his original position to sleep on his stomach.
Although Harrest and Rhein heard the news, it was not enough to deter them.
After a while, Lin brought out two bowls of noodles on a large tray, carefully placed them in front of the two teenagers, and then left with a smile. The two teenagers were also hungry, and the noodle bowl bigger than their heads not only finished eating the noodles, but also drank the soup. After eating, they went up to the lodging room on the second floor.
"Mom, what do you say those two teenagers are doing?" Lin watched the teenagers go upstairs and cautiously asked their mother, who was settling the accounts on the side.
"It should be to go to Jumen Pass to find their relatives. The armor on the blond-haired young man was from the royal capital, and it was possible that his father or elder brother had a position in the giant gate. The proprietress was still capable, and without making a sound, she secretly glanced at the missing moon crest on Rhine's body. It's a pity that I guessed wrong.
Harreste and Rhein slept in their room until three o'clock in the afternoon, and when they woke up, they were dizzy.
Hallest: "Go down and play." ”
Rhine: "You're stupid, what's going on down there." ”
Hallest: "There's someone singing down there. ”
Rhein: "I see you haven't woken up yet, so let's sleep a little longer." ”
"Knock knock... Knock knock..."
At this moment, there were two knocks on the door.
"Who?" Rhine had just put on his armor and picked up his short sword and asked outside the door.
"It's me, Lynn." A soft female voice came from outside the door.
Harrais quickly put on his gear and walked to the door with Rhein to open it.
"Sorry, I didn't know you were sleeping...... Here comes a bard, singing interestingly... I'm afraid you're bored, I'm going to ask you to go down and have a look......" Lin noticed that the two teenagers looked like they had just woken up, and apologized in a whispered embarrassment.
"It's okay, it's okay, we're just going to go down to the event." Rhein waved his hand to indicate that it was okay. "I didn't expect Hallest's hearing to be so good—" he muttered to himself.
The two teenagers followed Lynn downstairs.
There were many more people in the tavern downstairs than at noon, and now there were at least a dozen people. Looking at the outfits, most of them are bounty hunters and mercenaries. All eyes were on a young man in the middle of the tavern, for he was the bard who sang very interestingly.
The young man held a harp in his left hand, and his right hand gracefully twisted and slowly twisted and picked, and his mouth spoke an ancient story that no one could understand.
The clear and distant song like the goddess of the forest floated past the ears, and everyone reveled in the obscure song.
