308 Kingdom of Poland
The year 1656 was definitely a record-worthy date for the entire European political scene, when the Kingdom of Poland-Lithuania, once one of the overlords of Eastern Europe, announced its dissolution from its capital, Krakow, and the next day, the Parliament of Sem declared its closure indefinitely.
A week later, the great ceremony of the rank of the Polish king took place in the city of Krakow, and even though everyone knew that the Kingdom of Poland was only a step away from the ruins of the Polish-Lithuanian Kingdom, many Polish people still shed tears of remorse on this day.
Poland and Lithuania, the vast first-class Eastern European power, disappeared, and most of the country was severed off to become the homeland of the new Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, which eventually retained only the Polish nation before its union with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
Most importantly, the Kingdom of Poland was burdened with heavy war reparations, and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom had an entire infantry division stationed in the Kingdom of Poland in the name of protecting the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Poland and helping the regular army of the Kingdom of Poland to maintain local law and order.
The demise of Poland and Lithuania and the establishment of the Kingdom of Poland naturally met with resistance from many Polish people, and even some exiled nobles of the main war faction who were defeated and absconded used their influence to fan the flames everywhere and establish rebels against the government, trying to overthrow the Polish regime established by King Stanisław.
The formation of the Kingdom of Poland was carried out only by the puppet tsar of the Russian Empire Thousand Faces and the head of the Cossack United Emirate Sari. Assmann admits that no country in the whole of Europe recognizes the legitimacy of the Kingdom of Poland, even though the Polish king has all the seals and cities of Poland and Lithuania.
The Kingdom of Poland was based on military power, and all the large cities in Poland were controlled by the newly established Polish regular army and the Taiping Army under the direct control of the king of Poland, and the flag of the Kingdom of Poland and the battle flag of the Taiping Army were planted in the heads of dozens of cities belonging to the Kingdom of Poland.
Those rebels were just forming and were simply not able to fight the regular Polish army.
After all, most of the regular army of the Kingdom of Poland was reorganized and rebuilt from the original Polish-Lithuanian standing army and local militias, and its own combat effectiveness was quite good.
However, most of these soldiers did not have a high sense of identity with the nascent Kingdom of Poland, mainly because of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's status as a garrison and protectorate within the Kingdom of Poland!
As a result, these Polish regular soldiers turned a blind eye to the rebels who were planning to raise the flag of judgment and actively gather, as if they were expecting a miracle......
Of course, these were mudslides under the undercurrent of the Kingdom of Poland, which, on the surface, put an end to years of war with the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and made the two countries de facto allies!
Soon after Duke Stanisław Kniecpolski became King of Poland, Hong Tiancheng officially married the daughter of the King of Poland and was exceptionally promoted to the title of Prince of Poland!
With Hong Tiancheng's strength and status, he deserves to be the Prince of Poland, but if you look at Hong Tiancheng's origin and alien identity, this move is simply provoking the sensitive nerves of Polish patriotic youth!
As soon as the news of Hong Tiancheng becoming the prince of Poland spread, it detonated the fluctuations far beyond the accession of the Polish king to the throne, Stanisław turned out to be a member of the Polish nobles, qualified to become the king of Poland, and the big guy could barely accept it after the defeat, but Hong Tiancheng, the Polish executioner, became the prince of the Poles, which was unbearable!
In addition to the heavily fortified city of Krakow, many local towns immediately erupted in loud demonstrations.
However, the Polish citizens of these marches far underestimated the determination of Stanisław Koniecpolski to defect to the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and the regular Polish army, under the order signed by the Polish king himself, quickly marched to the major cities to suppress and evacuate, and the civilians who marched had no weapons at all, and in the face of the heavily armed Polish soldiers, they were left with only the ability to flee except to be beaten.
A march was indiscriminately suppressed by the army, and it swirled and disappeared.
However, this act of the Polish king completely angered the Polish people, and the Polish youth, who had a relatively weak sense of patriotism, began to flow to the local resistance organizations on a large scale.
With the support of public opinion, Jan Sobiesky, the successor to the Polish-Lithuanian throne who had disappeared after the defeat and was deprived of all titles and fiefs, took the lead in raising the flag of judgment and held a first uprising to call on the people to form an army and counterattack the city of Krakow.
I have to say that Jan Sobieski's appeal is still quite good, and many Poles still cherish the glory of Poland and Lithuania, hoping to counterattack the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and re-establish themselves in Eastern Europe, and the great power heart of the Poles has not been deprived by this defeat.
Of course, Jan Sobiesky took advantage of the escalation of the Prince Hong Tiancheng incident to rapidly expand his power, and the strength of the rebels rolled upwards in a geometric manner, with tens of thousands of troops in just one month!
Of course, the rebel army led by Jan Sobiesky was extremely primitive and backward in weaponry, except for some of the original family private soldiers and rout soldiers in the core, most of them only had simple cold weapons and even agricultural tools such as wooden sticks and dung forks.
With so many troops, Jan Sobiesky led tens of thousands of men to attack a Taiping ammunition logistics base, where the Taiping army had only one regiment of troops.
And then...... And then there is no more......
These rebels, who were mainly composed of Polish angry youths, had no idea how cruel the war was, and the elite grenadiers of the Taiping Army only used a salvo and a round of grenade throwing to crush the rebels......
The Taiping army continued to crush layer after layer of rebel forces with one enemy and ten soldiers, proving once again how fragile the peasant rebel army was without military training.
However, due to the large number of Jan Sobieski's men, he was able to stabilize his position, but the army encircled by the Taiping army and the regular Polish army soon pounced on him from all sides like sharks smelling fish.
It is conceivable that the Polish rebels led by Jan Sobieski experienced less than two months from raising the flag of judgment to being suppressed......
With this quick counterinsurgency, the current Polish king once again proved the correctness of his political choice.
What Hong Tiancheng and the Polish king did not know, however, was that this farcical repression was merely a lurking revelation to the rebels.
Because Jan Sobiesky, as the leader, lost his trace after the rebels were suppressed, many of the rebels' defeated soldiers also went into the mountains and forests and became guerrillas who relied on the mountains to eat the mountains.
