Chapter Twenty-Three: The Murder in the Art Gallery
Back at the scene of the murder, more than a dozen policemen searched for the scene of the death of the boss of Manaka, and found a small note not far from the body, which seemed to be the clue left by the boss of Manaka.
Officer Twilight took the note that the police had given him, and was surprised when he saw it, because it had a name written on it, "Kuwata!" ”
"Ahh Why call me! Kuwata, who had been standing behind Director Ochiai, exclaimed in surprise.
"Maybe it's to avoid being discovered by the anti-theft camera, but the prisoner's disguise was discovered by the real boss, so he hid the note in his hand!" Mori stared straight at Wata.
"It's not me! It's really not me! Wakuta said in a panic.
"Where are you around half-past four?" Officer Twilight asked.
"I'm in the office doing what the curator tells me to do!" Watada hurried back, trying to clear himself.
"Yes, I did ask Watada to do things!" Director Ochiai also said.
"Then no one can prove it." Officer Twilight gets to the point.
"But I don't have a reason to kill the real boss!" Watada was a little flustered.
"Mr. Wata, don't explain, we have already investigated clearly, you secretly went out to sell the works of the art museum, and the boss of Manaka found out and claimed a large amount of money from you, so you killed the boss of Manaka!" Officer Chiba, who was next to Officer Twilight, said as he took out the information of the investigation.
"I was wronged, and it has nothing to do with homicide!" Before Kuwata could finish speaking, he was interrupted by Officer Twilight.
"That's it! Mr. Watata, you don't have to explain, and it will be clear when we find the armor used by the prisoner. Officer Twilight apparently doesn't believe Mr. Kuwata, and suddenly, Conan finds a circle pen that Boss Manaka has lost in a piece of art.
Officer Twilight walked over and picked it up, spun out the pen, took out the small notebook he had with him, and wrote on it at random, saying, "The color and ink are the same, it should be this one!" Officer Twilight touched his chin and pondered.
"Hmmm! How could a refill be? Conan noticed something suspicious.
"In this way, it can be proved that the name on the paper is written by the real boss." Maori Road.
"So if you find the prisoner's armor, everything will be explained." Although it was not explicitly stated, it was apparently believed that Wakuta was the perpetrator of the murder.
Conan searched for a long time and didn't find any other clues, so he returned to the monitoring room, opened the door and entered, and the two policemen who were fascinated by Conan opened the door came back to their senses, and the policeman who was standing quickly said: "Children, this is not the place for you to come, hurry up and get out!"
"Mr. Policeman, Officer Twilight has told you to help." Conan is also a repeat offender, and immediately gave a reason why the two cops had to get out.
"Isn't it that watching the video is too engrossed and was caught by Officer Twilight, miserable!" The two policemen were frightened by Conan's words and immediately left the monitoring room.
"How so? The round pen I just found is, is it? Conan looked at a certain scene in the video and thought that when he found something, he immediately ran out of the monitoring room and ran towards the hellish mansion.
"The refill of the round pen just now was put in, and with that piece of paper, then the prisoner was trying to frame Mr. Watata, and he could do this, only..."Conan reasoned with the clues he knew while running towards the Hell Pavilion, but, when he was about to see the entrance passage to the Hell Pavilion, he saw where Harukawa was standing, as if waiting for someone.
Conan knew that Harukawa was waiting for him when he thought about it, so he slowed down, walked in front of Harukawa and looked up at him, waiting for Harukawa's action.
"I already know." Not amazed, apparently already known that Conan would reason.
"If you say that, I'm even more sure that Director Ochiai is the prisoner who killed Boss Manaka!" Conan said with bright eyes.
"Oh!" Harukawa was not surprised, because judging by his previous actions, Conan should have come to ask for clues he could find before he saw the murder.
"From the moment you saw the people in the museum, you looked thoughtful, and when I didn't come to ask you for clues, you also looked like you were struggling, I knew that you already knew who the prisoner was." Taking a breath, Conan looked at Harukawa with a look of incomprehension, waiting for his explanation.
"Conan, what do you think art is?" Harukawa didn't explain and asked a question.
"Art?" Conan pondered that Harukawa was going to ask this question.
"Again, what is the life of an old man like?" Harukawa asked another question.
"This..."Conan seemed to understand what Harukawa meant, which is a common problem for many people.
"'All the works here are like my children!' Do you understand this sentence? The child is about to disappear, no, it should be said that the only sustenance is gone, so what kind of behavior should he have. Harukawa calmly finished speaking and walked out of the museum.
When the child is about to disappear, what kind of mood does this old man without sustenance have? Probably despair!
Conan returns to the scene of the murder with a heavy heart, and at a glance he sees that Mori is taking pity on the armor, and then Iijima explains to Mori that it is nothing more than a decorative imitation.
Hearing Iijima say, another piece of evidence appeared in front of Conan's eyes, but Conan didn't know whether to do it or not, and he was confused.
Taking a deep breath, Conan calmed his mind, opened his watch and shot out the anesthetic needle to put down Mori Kogoro, and slowly told the truth through Mori Kogoro.
When Director Ochiai said that he killed the demon, Conan was silent, "Director Ochiai killed the demon, no, he's just an old man!" He just wanted to find a sustenance, he wanted a hope! ”
Conan walked out, but just happened to see Director Ochiai looking at him with the eyes of an elder looking at a child, and then at the ceiling, and Conan was moved by the loneliness that was inadvertently revealed.
"Am I wrong?" Conan suspects that he was excited to solve the case and find the murderer because he upheld the law. Or what?
"Director Ochiai, come back to the warning hall with us!" Officer Twilight didn't know what to think of such an old man.
Seeing Director Ochiai get into the police car, Conan walked to Harukawa at the door of the Children's Art Museum, and said half-loudly: "Why don't you stop it, since you already knew, why didn't you stop me, I believe you can also clear those traces for Director Ochiai!"
"What is the law?" Harukawa asked.
"It's a kind of regulation that regulates others." Conan wondered.
"I'm just feeling sorry for an old man, and I didn't say that you were asked to cover up the fact that Director Ochiai killed people, he did it, and he was responsible for his actions, even if in my opinion it was just to wash away the blood of the devil and remove a little darkness from the world, but that is the law." Harukawa slowly said what he thought, and stopped him for the sake of not telling him.
"Is that so?"
"Yes, there are things to be hidden, to be treated as if they don't exist."
"Is it because that's right?"
"Are you suspicious of your actions!"
"Is that right?"
"What do you think?"
