Chapter 62: Taking the Celts lightly

In the 2010-11 season, although Rasheed Wallace retired, the Celtics got the big shark O'Neal, and Rondo's rapid improvement made the Celtics greatly improved.

So most of the time it sits in the first position in the East. But fatigue after the All-Star break forced them to drop from first to third. Although the New York Knicks with Anthony and Stoudemire were swept in the first round, facing the new Big Three of the Heat in the second round, even if Rondo staged the "return of the one-armed king" in the third game, it still couldn't save the situation.

In the end, the Celtics lost 1-4 to Miami, ending the 2010-2011 playoffs early. There could have been hope that the team would have made a comeback next season, but before the start of the 2011-2012 season, Ray Allen's defection made the Celtics lose their original competitiveness.

The team and general manager Danny Angie have embraced a thorough rebuilding plan and made the biggest deal of last summer – sending Garnett, Pierce and Jason Terry to Brooklyn. This year's Celtics will never again see the familiar figures of the two old men on the court - Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett; Neither can you see Doug Rivers, the decorated head coach, pacing and thinking from the bench in Boston.

Since the breakup of the Big Three, they have embarked on their own path of regrouping, and after trading Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce out this season, their results have plummeted, and they have now won just 20 of their 70 games. The good news, though, is that their rookie this year, Kelly Olynyk, has played pretty well and shown great defensive skills.

And Every Bradley, who was drafted in 2010, has also improved significantly, and most importantly, they traded two aging All-Stars for enough first-round picks that they should be able to rebuild quickly if they are given a little time. For now, though, the Pacers don't seem to have much of a problem trying to get past their opponents.

Time came to the time when the game was about to start, standing in the center of the TD North Shore Garden Arena, Ye Xuan felt a different atmosphere, 17 championship flags were hung high, and then a large number of retired jerseys.

Looking at the retired Larry Bird jersey with the same number as himself, Ye Xuan silently saluted, and calmed down to prepare for the start of the game. As the referee tossed the basketball into the air, the game officially began, with Roy Hibbert and Jared Sullinger jumping at the same time, but Hibbert had the advantage of height and touched the basketball first. Ye Xuan took the basketball from Hibbert, started it quickly, quickly rushed to the opponent's three-point line and made a quick stop to score three points, and when everyone was not yet in the state, he was caught off guard by the opposite side.

Rondo, who was injured at the beginning of the season, only returned in January this year, but it can be seen that he has been in great shape since his return. After dribbling the ball to the frontcourt, he used Jeff Green's cover to get into the box and scored two points with a throw.

In the face of Rondo's defense, Ye Xuan slowly dribbled the ball, and today's Ye Xuan was full of aggression, so Rondo on the opposite side also had to be careful. Ye Xuan started suddenly, two changes of direction in a row, Rondo's footsteps barely kept up, but the third change of direction came immediately, Ye Xuan shook off the gap at once, broke through two steps to the inside line, threw a throw and scored two points.

Yibian fought again, Rondo chose to break through directly in the face of Ye Xuan's defense, but Ye Xuan's defensive footsteps were very good, Rondo did not shake off the gap as he wished, and after being stuck by Ye Xuan, he could only choose to pass the ball out. After Bradley received the ball, he did not succeed in breaking through the defense of Pickled Pepper, and when there was little time left to attack, Bradley reluctantly chose to force a shot, and the ball bounced out of the basket.

After receiving a pass from David West, who grabbed the rebound, Ye Xuan quickly advanced with the ball, and suddenly handed the ball to the side quickly inserted Pickled Pepper near the halfcourt, and Pickled Pepper got the ball at the three-point line and took a three-step ride directly and made a successful layup.

Compared with the smooth offensive Pacers, the Celtics' offense is very struggling, except for Bradley, the range of the players on the court is generally short, and the Pacers have a black and hard Hibbert guard inside, plus Ye Xuan and Lance Stephenson are both blocking defenders, so the Celtics' offensive efficiency is very low.

After Rondo hit the first goal, the next four consecutive attacks all ended in failure, and the Pacers also took the opportunity to stretch the score directly to 9-2.

Ye Xuan held the ball again to face Rondo, but this time he chose to call his teammates, and after making a collision with Lance, he secretly stuffed the ball to Lance, and made a quick move, Jeff Green went over to make up for Ye Xuan, Ye Xuan's feints also confused Rondo, causing Lance to hold the ball outside the three-point line but no one to defend him, so he aimed for a while before he easily threw the ball, 12:2.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens quickly called a timeout to try to change the situation. Although after the pause came back, Rondo used the pick-and-roll to assist Sullinger on the inside to score two points, but in terms of defense, they still had nothing to do with the Pacers, who had Ye Xuan and Pickled Pepper, the two offensive masters, and after a few rounds, the score was quickly pulled away. With just eight minutes to go in the first quarter, the Pacers led by a full 16 points, 24-8.

The rest of the game didn't make any waves, and the Pacers' main players extended the margin to more than 25 points before the end of the first half. And the benches also had a lot of fun on the court, and in the middle of the third quarter, Solomon Hill and Donald Sloan hit four consecutive three-pointers for the Pacers. In such a crushing game, the Celtics' home crowd chose to leave the court early, and before the fourth quarter began, the stadium was sparsely populated with less than a third of the crowd.

At the end of the game, the Pacers won comfortably 106-77, and the main team did not even play more than 25 minutes. Ye Xuan also only played 21 minutes, and efficiently got 18 points, 6 assists and 2 steals, surprisingly, the Pacers' scoring champion in this game is Solomon Hill, with as many as 27 minutes of playing time and good touch, he got 23 points and 4 boards today, and also created his career high.

After the game, a group of experts also said that the strength of the Pacers is indeed very strong, and as Ye Xuan slowly integrates into the main lineup, the Pacers' starters have become one of the strongest starting lineups in the league.
