Volume 4, Chapter 13, Number Seven, Exploration, The Source of Emotions

3 ['Seven' perspective]

The system only goes into a brief state of defenselessness when it is asleep.

This is the 'home' of the system, in fact, it belongs to the property of the 'laboratory', and the people of the 'laboratory' are allocated to the system's residence, with a total area of 167.35 square meters, most of which is placed with experimental equipment. Deep in the room, in the dense mass of wires, stood iron capsules large enough to hold a person. I was born here two years ago.

I was the last 'program' the system had ever made, and since then, the system has never made a humanoid program like mine. However, there are other 'programs' in the iron capsules today. Her name is 'One', and as you can tell from this name, she was the first 'program' made by the system. My code name is 'Seven', which is the seventh program that the system makes, which is relatively easy to understand.

From the shared memories of other programs, I roughly understand that in a previous 'battle', 'One' was completely destroyed, and when she was found, only the wreckage remained, and the system collected the wreckage and stored it in the capsule, which has not been opened so far.

For me – is that how I ended up in the end?

From steel – back to steel.

It's as if the system has been doing its job - interrupting [some human's] life and turning him into a wreck.

What has the system been thinking about so far?

I don't know when I started to have this curiosity, and this curiosity is not based on the task of the system, because the object of curiosity is the system itself. So it's very unreasonable, why would I have thoughts other than system commands?

The system is now asleep.

Obviously, the system's 'home' is quite large, and the room is equipped with many large beds, but the system always sleeps on the sofa.

I don't understand the implications of this behavior. Even if you search, you can't find a precedent.

While the system is asleep, I will also keep her safe. I picked up my gun and paced back and forth beside him.

It's not a command from the system either, it's just a spontaneous act on my part.

Intrigued, I crouched next to the system. Looking at his face, for a boy, the length and density of his hair are quite amazing, even when he is asleep, he maintains the 'stiffness' of his face. The proportions of the facial features reach the level of 'quite harmonious', and this result is based on a search on the Internet.

The system is able to grasp and use something called 'qi', so it is called 'mind-qi god' by some people. For me, I didn't know what 'qi' was, but when I used the app's search function, I found that 'qi' has quite a lot of meanings, among which Chinese medicine says that 'qi' is the most basic element of the human body and life-sustaining activities, but it cannot be seen or touched. Why is this invisible and intangible thing the most basic element of the 'human body'? It's too complicated for me.

In other words, is there such a thing as 'qi' in the body of the system now?

Will I have it in my body?

I've heard people say that it's because I'm injected with 'qi' by the system that I can move freely, which is fundamentally different from the machine lying in my room. But I used to see a lot of steel blocks that could move freely in places like the Science Museum.

Does a pure piece of steel also have 'gas'?

If I were to dissect my body, I would actually be made up of some iron analogues, but covered with humanoid skin. Am I any different from those moving steel 'robots'?

I don't understand it myself.

Sure enough, it was so hard.

I 'thought' as I looked at the system's face up close.

When my nose was 5.52 mm away from the system's nose, the system suddenly opened its eyes.

“?!”

The system jerked to its feet and slammed it into my head.

"Hey—it hurts, what are you doing?"

The system said dissatisfied.

"I'm watching the system's expression."

"Why do you always like to watch my expressions lately? Is the program broken? ”

"Automatic entry program self-repair—"

Because of the system's commands, I turned on the self-repair.

"Stop the maintenance - it's annoying, and it takes a few hours at a time to self-repair. And there's never a way to detect what's wrong with you. ”

The system stood up and rolled its eyes.

"Maintenance stopped."

I followed the system's instructions.

"Looks like we're going to have a big check on you."

The system sighed.

"Command from the system: check by the system itself-"

Receiving such an order, I put down my gun and began to take off my clothes.

"Hey—what are you doing with your undressing?"

The system looked at me and said impatiently.

"Aren't you going to overhaul me?"

I turned my head slightly, blinked, and said.

"That's not now, what time is it in the middle of the night? And the overhaul does not have to be taken off naked. - Put your clothes on! ”

The system's expression showed that he was extremely unhappy right now.

"Roger."

I put on the clothes I had just taken off.

The system walked to the kitchen, took a bottle of green tea from the fridge and poured it into a cup. Drink it in. Then I walked into the wire-clad experimental area, sat on a stool, and turned on the computer.

"Ask, how the system behaves now?"

"Hah—find the next [resurrected]."

The system replied casually.

"Resurrection", this is not the first time I have heard the system mention this word. According to the search on the Internet, he means: a person who comes back from the dead, but [death] once made me wonder, what is death? According to search results, death refers to the irreversible loss of the original state of life or existence of a living (or thing) system.

If it is impossible to reverse it, why is it [resurrected after death]?

For robots, is disassembling and reassembling a kind of resurrection?

The system interrupts the [state of existence] of the so-called [resurrected] and uses violence to make it [die].

What is the point of this behavior.

It's complicated.

It feels like my CPU is going to burn out.

"Ask: Is there any significance to the system, our actions so far?"

Sure enough, I asked.

"Hah—why do you ask this?"

"The system refuses to answer the question – it is automatically sealed."

“……”

The system stared at me with a straight face. This expression showed that he was not happy right now.

However, apart from the distorted [smile] during battle, the system itself rarely shows the expression of "laughing". This is already his norm.

"But I'm also curious as to why you're asking this question."

The system asked me.

"A: I don't know very much myself."

I squirmed uncharacteristically.

"According to the data of the Internet, interrupting [the lives of others] and defining it as something unjust. Perhaps, we have been doing injustice. ”

I replied roughly by the results.

"The data you're searching for is based on other people's opinions."

The system said, and stopped typing on the keyboard.

"Human minds are pluralistic, and what some people think is [just] may be [unjust] things in the eyes of others. Many things based on personal interests, if they are under the banner of "justice", can be supported by more people in a sense. ”

As the system spoke, I recorded his words through the recording.

"It has been said that it is unjust to interrupt the lives of others. Then I can also say that "resurrecting the dead is also an unjust thing." ”

"Why do you say that?"

"Why? Because he interfered with the original order of the world. Everyone wants their loved ones and loved ones to be by their side forever. But in this world, birth, old age, sickness and death are the laws of nature, and no one can change the facts. People who don't think about themselves try to 'man conquers heaven' and challenge this law. Failure is certain, but the worse thing is that it will shake the society. ”

"Social ——?"

"This world is not just the natural world, but also the structure of [society]. If the fact that the God of Life can resurrect the dead is widely spread and people believe it, then what do you think will happen? ”

“…… There will be many people who will find the God of life and pray for the resurrection of the dead around him. ”

"If the deceased are their own relatives, [everyone] will describe their relatives as a kind and innocent imagination, if you are the [righteous] god of life, should you save them?"

"Of course."

"What, then, is the order of the resurrection?"

"A: I don't know."

I said.

The system stretched out his hand, compared his fingers to the shape of a gun, and said:

["This will be based on the life of God's own worldview. It's going to be totally a worse game than anyone else. ”】

"The god of life, his own worldview?"

"Ah—the god of life can sit on top of the high hall like an emperor, open the recitals offered by his subjects, and judge by [his own worldview] and emotions who is more innocent and who is more worthy of resurrection among so many dead. What was originally determined by nature became something that was determined by the living God personally. ”

“……”

"This is quite funny, the current God of Life naively thinks that as long as the innocent [good people] are resurrected, the world will one day be completely occupied by good people."

“……”

First of all, she only relies on her personal [worldview] and [emotion] to determine who is the so-called good person, and who dares to guarantee that there are no [bad people] among the people she resurrects. Secondly, she ignores that "good people" is not a unique and eternal concept. ”

"Uniqueness and eternity?"

"How many officials who were once honest and upright have ended up becoming corrupt. How many once shy and introverted teenagers have become tiger howling wolf criminals. How many seemingly harmless inhabitants are actually terrifying murderers. - Human beings are not immutable, and it is the God of Life Himself who makes the final judgment. ”

“…… It is generally understood, in short, that there are many drawbacks in [resurrecting the dead], so the behavior of the system is just. ”

I said.

"Hahahaha-is it justice?"

Unexpectedly, the system burst out laughing.

"Isn't it?"

"I don't claim to be righteous for my actions."

The system said calmly.

"The God of Life who has the Creator is just a naïve college girl, and in a sense that it helps me."

“…… Ask: What does this mean. ”

"If the God of Life is a man who is powerful in his own right, it can be worse. It is only good that I now let the God of Life act and allow her to complete the process of the prophecy peacefully. ”

["Prophecy——? ”】

"It's probably something you can't understand and doesn't make much sense to tell you. - It's almost time. ”

The system whispered, stopping its gaze on the iron capsule.

"It's time to ——?"

Automatically search for the meaning of the word 'to time'. Combined with the previous context.

When the system just stopped the maintenance order, it said: 'That's not now, what time is it in the middle of the night?' ’

After intelligent judgment, the meaning of the word time should be [the system overhauls me].

So I expertly took off my clothes.

"Hey, scrap metal, what are you doing?"

The system watched my movements, frowned, and said dissatisfied.

It looked like his face was full of doubt.

"Isn't it?"

I asked, tilting my head.
