Chapter 52: The Greedy Goblin
Gul'dan was very good at demagoguery, otherwise most orcs would not have been fooled by him into drinking the demonic blood of the Abyssal Lord "Destroyer" Manolos, and even the first Great Chief of the Tribe, the Black Hand (Blackhan), obeyed Gul'dan and became a puppet.
As a result, the clan chiefs, who were still skeptical, were quickly persuaded by Gul'dan's rhetoric and agreed to Orgrim's plan to transport troops from the sea.
Seeing what Gul'dan had done, Orgrim's lieutenant, Varok Sarufar, said to Orgrim with disdain: "Is this guy who smells of evil energy rotten all over his body to show his submission to you?" β
This Warok Sarufar was later the Great King of Sarufar, one of the most powerful warriors of the tribe. Orgrim appointed Sarufar as his lieutenant because he saw Sarufar's bravery and efficiency in killing enemies during the First Orc War.
"So it may seem so at the moment...... But Sarufar, my instincts never really put my trust in Gul'dan, would he really be loyal to the Horde? Ogrim was happy that his plan had been approved, but he was still wary of Gul'dan.
"If Gul'dan dares to play any tricks, my axe will show him the consequences." Sarufar said with ease, waving the two-handed axe in his hand with one hand.
"Anyway, at least Gul'dan still supports me for now, and the death knights he resurrected with spells can also play a big role on the battlefield." Orgrim said calmly.
Thinking of the Death Knights in human skin, Orgrim frowned slightly.
The Death Knight of the Orc tribe is fundamentally different from the later Death Knight Arthas.
After Orgrim destroyed the Shadow Council, he also wanted to kill Gul'dan directly.
However, Gul'dan begged Orgrim for mercy in order to survive, declaring that he would renounce the use of evil spells, and promising to create a strong army for Orgrim that would be loyal only to him.
Orgrim agreed, and Gul'dan used an evil psychic spell to summon the souls of the Warlocks of the Shadow Council who had been killed by Orgrim, and then infused them into the corpses of the strong human knights who had died.
The first orc warlock soul to be summoned by Gul'dan was Tarongor, who became the first death knight - Talon? Bloodfiend, and the leader of all the Death Knights of the later Horde.
Not only do these resurrected Death Knights possess bodies stronger than Warlocks, but they also possess the shadow spells that they possessed in their lifetimes.
They don't need to eat, sleep, or rest, and they can still absorb life and resurrect the living.
Although Orgrim was disgusted by these evil creations created through psychic spells, he thought that they were at least not evil creatures and that they were powerful on the battlefield, so he acquiesced to Gul'dan's actions and spared his life.
Sarufar is also full of disgust for the Death Knight.
He is a true orc warrior who believes that the glory of an orc should be a glorious death in a decisive battle with the enemy.
Therefore, Sarufar looked down on Gul'dan and the Warlocks of the Shadow Council who could only hide in the shadows and cast evil spells, and he hated the Death Knight, a monster who came back to life in human skin.
"I don't want to fight with these monsters, and do you really believe that they will be loyal to you alone, as Gul'dan says?" β
Orgrim shook his head slowly but firmly, and said, "No, I don't believe in Gul'dan, so I'll continue to send people to keep an eye on him......"
Despite his great strength, Orgrim is one of the few outliers among the orcs who is good at using stratagem, he is like a cunning fox among the wolves, and has even earned him a less honorable title: "The Hidden Arrow Wounder".
So of course, Orgrim would not be naΓ―ve to believe what Gul'dan said, he just needed Gul'dan and the Death Knights to serve the Horde in the war.
Privately, Orgrim had secretly kept the Blackstone Clan on the lookout, intending to wait until the war was over to wipe out these disgusting creatures who had turned their backs on orc traditions.
Sarufar looked at Orgrim and laughed, and said, "Yes, you are Orgrim, and no orc can play any tricks in front of you, not even Gul'dan......"
Just then, two of Orgrim's other lieutenants, Red Black Hand and Mamm Black Hand, ran over.
The two lieutenants were brothers and the sons of the previous High Chief, the Black Hand who was killed by Orgrim in a duel.
But instead of holding a grudge against their father for Ogrim's death, Red and Maim choose to pledge their allegiance to Ogrim and remain loyal to the Horde.
Orgrim also placed deep trust in the brothers, appointing them as his lieutenants, and also handing over a portion of the Blackstone Clan to their leadership, allowing them to form a new clan: the Blackfangs.
The two of them came to Orgrim, and Red began to report, "Great Chief, all the teams are ready to go on the expedition at any time. β
"Good." Orgrim nodded, waved the black hammer of destruction in his hand forward, and began to give the order to go out: "You go and tell those patriarchs that we are going to the west of the sea next, and tell them all to speed up their movements, and don't delay." β
The horde army received Orgrim's order and began to march southwestern of the wetlands, and after ten days they reached the port where the dwarves had built, which later became the port of Minethir.
In fact, one of the most important reasons why the patriarchs of the various clans were suspicious was that there were no craftsmen who could build ships among the orc tribes.
While the Amani Trolls, who have temporarily joined the Horde's army, can help build troll-style wooden ships, their ships are too small to handle the Tribe's need to transport large numbers of troops. (Note: Amani Trolls only officially joined the Old Horde after Orgrim rescued Zulkin.) οΌ
This problem is solved by the emergence of a consortium of Goblins in Hot Sand Harbor, who approach Orgrim with an offer to provide the tribe with shipbuilding technology, but only if Orgrim is paid in good faith.
Speaking of goblins, this race is really a typical example of asking for money and not dying, as long as the price is right, they can serve any force, whether the other party is good or evil. Like the Brotherhood of Defia, then Nefaryan, and Deathwing......
