Chapter 9 Training Plan

Throughout the month of August, several USC sports teams were sneaking around for a hot summer session. Although the school knew that this was a violation, it still opened the back door, and even had security guards stationed outside the training hall to prevent anyone from peeking at the team's training, which was actually a sentry.

The University of Southern California does this for the sake of the word "profit", to put it bluntly, they are just for "money"!

In the United States, a strong college basketball team can bring in $20 million to $80 million a year for the school. In other words, those strong teams can get close to $100 million a year, while the weak teams only have 20 million.

Note that this refers to the teams that can break into the top 64 of the country, and those teams that cannot make it to the national championship will naturally not make so much money.

USC made it to the National Championship last season thanks to the heroic performance of O.J. Mayo, but was unable to reach the round of 32 in a brutal knockout round.

That's a good thing to say, but the fact is that USC was eliminated in the first round of the tournament, and Mayo lost the top spot.

But with such a bad record, USC still earned $40 million last season. Therefore, it is understandable that in order to recruit talented high school students, these universities buy sky-high insurance and nutrition fees for them.

In order to poach DeRozan, Floyd must have given a lot of benefits to the other party in private, and maybe he also arranged a job for DeRozan's parents in college. This is a recruitment method often used by NCAA schools, which directly sends money to the players' families, which is very prone to problems, and no one can find fault with arranging jobs for the players' families.

Freud did this for the sake of profit, and it was still the word "money".

The annual salary of an NCAA basketball coach is tied to the team's record, and the better the team's record, the more salary and bonuses they will pay.

Every year, the coach of the top 64 teams in the United States has at least one and a half months of salary of more than one million dollars. is like the famous old K coach, this old guy's annual salary + commission can reach tens of millions of dollars. The rest of the traditional strong team coaches, even if they don't get as much as Coach K, are all around three to five million dollars.

These college basketball coaches are paid more than most coaches in the NBA, which is why many well-known NCAA coaches are reluctant to coach in the NBA.

On August 20, Wu Huang's training plan was finalized by the coaching staff.

This is a big project, and the team is about to dissect Wu Huang's body in the past two days, in order to develop a training plan that best suits Wu Huang's physical fitness.

Basketball training is broadly divided into "training with the ball" and "training without the ball".

To explain simply, training with the ball is mainly a training technique, and training without the ball is to enhance physical fitness.

It's not necessarily accurate, but it's easy to understand.

The physical fitness of basketball players generally refers to height, arm span, speed, explosiveness, bounce, strength, body coordination, flexibility, and endurance. A lot of this is innate, it's not that you can catch up with others how many hours a day you train, these abilities are barely there, and the only result of overtraining is to scrap yourself, so a scientific training plan is very important for players.

Basketball players do not have particularly high requirements for upper body strength, and two-thirds of them are connected to the waist and down. And speed, bounce has a lot to do with the calf, generally speaking, the bounce is good, the speed will not be bad; The speed is good, and the bounce is not low.

Many fans see the NBA stars on TV flying high and high in the air, how dazzling it would be!

This kind of bouncing ability is what many basketball players dream of, but most people can only think about it, physical fitness is given by their parents, if you want to know what your congenital conditions are, you can see it yourself.

1. Ankles: If your ankles are like a frog's ankles, which are small from the back and slightly wider from the side, that's fine, and you have the first characteristic of a great bounce. Because the ankle is small, the force emitted by the foot can be transmitted from the ankle through the leg to the body more intensively when jumping.

2. Toe head: If your big toe is very long, then I'm sorry, you are not destined to jump high. Because the long toe shortens the distance between the arches of the foot, it disperses a lot of force, and also affects the elasticity of landing, which is really tragic.

3. Heel tendon: Look at the tendon that grows upwards on the back of your heel, if it is of proper thickness, tough, and grows very high, almost to the lower calf below the knee joint. You're lucky enough to be able to jump like a frog, as you can see from a lot of NBA bouncing kings.

All in all, whether in the NBA or the CBA, when a player joins a basketball team as a teenager, the coach will first conduct a "bone touch" test for you, and they will touch your waist down very obscenely.

"Touching the bones" here refers to testing your physical talents. If you are physically gifted, you are eligible to play basketball. Otherwise, even in the democratic and free United States, you will be persuaded by the coach to quit, and even if you are finally allowed to join the basketball team, you will not be given a chance to play, and you should be allowed to exercise with the team, because you have no talent.

It is a well-established fact that the physical fitness of blacks is the best among the yellow, white and black races, and it is also the conclusion of scientific research. The tendons of black people are rich in white muscle fibers, and there are more white muscle fibers than white and yellow people. The white muscle fibers in the tendons directly affect the explosive power, although the acquired exercise can also increase speed and bounce, but compared to professional players, this increase is not enough. Especially the speed and explosiveness required by most sports, even if ordinary people train hard, can they train the speed of 100 meters to less than 11 seconds?

The guards in the NBA are all first-class players, and the congenital conditions are so good that you have nothing to say. Those fast players, such as Wu Huang, the only freak in the team who runs back and forth for 11 seconds, have long muscle fibers in the calves.

After hearing about it, the university sprint team ran to Freud's side several times to ask for people, intending to train Wu Huang to be the first yellow man in the world to run under 10 seconds.

Wu Huang's strength training is divided into two parts, "speed" and "explosiveness", each of which has four different sets of methods, and strength training is done four times a week, and in the initial stage, each strength training time is 60 minutes.

There is a famous American basketball trainer who famously said, "In 48 minutes of the game, you may touch the ball and use your upper limbs for less than a quarter of the time, but you need to use your legs all the time in 48 minutes", which shows the importance of lower body strength.

The first is speed training, which mainly involves "horizontal one-foot jump", "resistance spur run", "lunge jump", and "weight-bearing high leg run".

"Lateral one-foot jump" can increase the ability to change direction and deceleration on the side, so that the agility of the player increases. To put it bluntly, it is often the most direct and effective way to make your start fast, slow down quickly, and stop and start when players break through.

The "Resistance Spur Run" mainly trains acceleration, deceleration and lateral leg muscles, increases agility and muscle endurance, and enhances explosiveness. This type of training is a must for all backcourt players, and it can significantly increase the ability to fight on the run and increase the balance of the body.

The lunge is used to train the leg muscles and gluteal muscles, but also to pursue explosive power, which is one of the classic movements of sprinters for strength training, and is also used by guards on the basketball court, which increases absolute speed.

The "Weight-Bearing Leg Lift" is also designed to strengthen the legs, expand stride length, and improve flexibility and coordination. Basketball players are not good just because they are fast, and many players like to rush into the opponent's pile, which is not good at cadence. If you want to be like Ginobili and Kobe Bryant, you can dodge in the breakthrough, this training must be carried out.

Explosive strength training, mainly "back of the neck weighted squat", "straight leg deadlift", "goat waist lift", "powerlifting combination".

"Squat" is one of the hard indicators that reflect the level of physical fitness, focusing on training the quadriceps and gluteal muscles, aiming to improve the ability to extend the knees and hips. For basketball, lower body strength is the root of everything, the foundation of running and jumping.

The "straight leg deadlift" focuses on enhancing the strength of the posterior femoral muscles and gluteal muscles, improving the running speed and starting rate, and can also train the coordination of multiple joints and the use of explosive power. The calves of basketball players are very important, but the same is true for the training of thigh strength.

"Goat Waist Lift" is performed in a Roman chair and is designed to improve the control of the upper erector spinae, multifidus and lower back muscles of the gluteal muscles, and can improve the stability of the body when running, jumping and twisting, and train waist strength. We often see Wade spinning the top in the crowd, playing four at a time, and still being able to maintain his balance and score the ball. Or Kobe Bryant 1V5, dodging and moving in the air, and finally waiting for all the opponents to fall, and then shooting. These are those who have strength in their waists and can support their bodies to make various difficult moves in the air, and there is no superstar in the NBA who is not strong enough.

The "powerlifting combination" requires the complete movement of the human body from "pulling up" to "pushing" the weight completely, which is the most common training method. The degree of coordination and speed at which a player completes this process is a reflection of the body's ability to coordinate with multiple joints, and you can see your talent at a glance from an experienced trainer, regardless of everyone being practicing. In addition to improving the level of strength, it is more important to significantly improve the ability of nerves to control muscles and increase the coordination of muscles throughout the body, which is an essential quality for competitive sports.

Freud was very worried, after this set of speed and explosive training, would Wu Huang's body be able to withstand it? Will it be directly broken by them?

Wu Huang's training plan is not much different from the one used by OJ Mayo last year, in terms of training volume. Floyd was worried about whether the yellow body could feed the training volume of black athletes. He and the entire coaching staff have never directed the yellow race, and they really don't know the bottom of their hearts.

Floyd had already planned that from the first day of training, he would check Wu Huang's physical fatigue level every day, and once he showed signs of being unbearable, the coaching staff would immediately reduce Wu Huang's training volume by 20%.

These training sessions can be considered off-ball training, 60 minutes of training time may seem like a short time, but in fact it is a long time.

In the NBA, if it is during the season, players generally do 30 minutes of strength training every day, but it also depends on the schedule, and strength training will be stopped when the schedule is tight; In the time outside of the season, players generally practice for 45 to 60 minutes a day, with the exception of the perverts of Kobe and James, who rarely practice strength and start practicing at four or five o'clock in the morning.

Although Wu Huang's strength training is not long each time, it can be arranged compactly, in a variety of ways, and with great intensity, it is really not something that ordinary athletes can stick to. If Wu Huang can persevere, with such high-intensity strength training, he is likely to have the enviable physicality of an NBA player in college.

This is also the ability of most rookies who are at the top of the draft, and NBA teams have a greater proportion of physical fitness when selecting rookies, in addition to looking at the ball quotient.

Rookies with physical fitness like this year's OJ Mayo and Beasley, even if they can't play as expected in the NBA, but their physical talent is there, and they can eat in the NBA at worst. Maybe one day when you meet Bole, or your head suddenly opens up, and you can still make achievements with your body as the foundation.
