Chapter 13: The Accident of a Quidditch Match
The next morning, when Hermione and Harry met Aitch at dinner in the hall, they would whisper thanks, Ron absolutely did not appreciate that it was the viper in his eyes who saved him, and they still hummed at Aitch when they met. In his opinion, it would rather be Hermione helping. This made Harry very helpless, how could Ron have such a big opinion about Edge?
But now, because of Aitch and Hermione's lying, Hermione herself is no longer so resistant to breaking the school rules, and the relationship with Harry and them has begun to ease, although not very close, but also the harmony of normal classmates.
By November, the weather is starting to get colder. The mountain that surrounded the school turned gray and cold, and the lake froze like icy steel. Every morning, the ground is covered with snow. Through the upstairs window, Hagrid could be seen, wrapped in a moleskin coat, rabbit fur gloves, and with his feet wearing large beaver skin boots, walking around the school and beyond.
Quidditch Season is just around the corner. This weekend, after weeks of hard work, Harry is playing his first match: Gryffindor vs. Slytherin.
Around eleven o'clock, the entire school seemed to be gathered in the stands of the Quidditch arena, many with binoculars. The seats seem to be a little higher, but sometimes it's hard to see the arena because there are so many people. Ron and Hermione sat together, they were both Gryffindors. Aitch was sitting in the Ravenclaw area, and he had decided to come on the impromptu side.
It took a few months for Aitch to brush up the school's favorability, and he dug up a lot of good things from the Responsive House. Aitch borrowed the idea of solar charging to make a solar gauntlet, and gave it and a cat teasing stick to Filch, so that he could use it as a squib to perform small magic like "clean up". An "indoor sun" frees all students and professors from the fireplace, and even the deserted library makes people more willing to read books, and wins a lot of points from Mrs. Pince, who cares about the library.
When it comes to new things, the Weasley twins are always the most enthusiastic, and the three of them get together to make a lot of useful things, and "Indoor Sun" is the cooperation of the three of them, relying on this thing, the three of them made a small fortune. It is also thanks to their help, otherwise Edge's energy alone will not be able to digest the "wealth" of the Room of Requirement. As for those who still have hatred for Edge, looking at the whole school, it seems that Ron is the only one left. He didn't even listen to his brother, and he always caused trouble for Edge. However, Filch always only punished Ron alone, which made him even more dissatisfied with Edge's "one-handed covering".
Ms. Huo Qi was the referee for this competition. She stood in the center of the arena, broom in hand, waiting for the two teams.
"Now, listen, I want a fair game." She said as the team gathered around her. Aitch thought she had said it to the Slytherin captain.
"Mount, please, ride your broomsticks."
Harry rides his "Flywheel 2000".
Ms. Hodge blew it with a silver whistle.
Fifteen broomsticks rose and towered high, and the game began.
The game was fine at the beginning, but after Gryffindor scored one or two goals first, Slytherin couldn't help it, completely forgot about Ms. Hooch's words, and began to commit all kinds of fouls, knocking out several of Gryffindor's main players, causing Lee to taunt him all the time, and Professor McGonagall had to remind him again and again to be fair.
On the field, Harry's broom tilted suddenly, horribly, and he felt like it was about to fall, so he hurriedly clamped it tightly with his hands and knees. It was the first time something like this had happened to him.
Here he came again, as if a broom was going to throw him down, but as if he would not fall. Harry tried to turn his broomstick; He kind of wanted to call a timeout, because he felt as if he had lost control of the broomstick and he couldn't call it anymore. The broomstick zigzagged through the air, vibrating violently and making a loud prolonging sound that nearly knocked Harry off.
But almost all eyes were drawn to the fierce scramble between Gryffindor and Slytherin, and few people saw it. However, Aitch is one of them. He looked at Gryffindor's position, and a huge figure appeared to Hermione, it was Hagrid.
Suddenly, the people in the stands were all pointing at Harry, and his broom began to fall, and the spectators held their breath. Harry's broom rolled again, and he barely held on, staggering. The audience below gasped. Then the broom jolted violently again, swinging Harry out, and now he only had one hand to grasp the broom, and there it was dangling.
"Yuga Dim Leviosa!" Aitch read aloud, he made a move, after all, human life is at stake! He put both hands on his wand and tried to lift Harry back to the broomstick.
But Harry was dangling all the time, seriously interfering with Edge's spellcasting.
"What are you doing?" Ron stood beside him with a grim face, shouting to take Aitch's wand, apparently believing that Aitch was responsible for Harry's accident. However, the Ravenclaws knew about the levitation charm that Aitch was using, and his loud chanting was heard by everyone around him, the juniors, like Terry, who were stopping Ron, and the seniors who were helping to chant the spell. That made things a lot better for Harry on the pitch. The Weasley twins were able to hold Harry, but the broom had been disobedient and slippery enough to keep Harry from sitting up.
After about thirty seconds, Snape noticed that he was on fire, and he howled. Harry in the air was suddenly able to climb back on his broomstick.
Then, with Harry's divine help, he almost swallowed the winning Golden Snitch! This allowed them to win Slytherin 170-60 to advance to the next round of the tournament.
"It's Aitch who is playing tricks," Ron explained to Harry, "and I see through the binoculars that he's pointing his wand at you. โ
Hermione retorted, "No, I asked Ravenclaw, and Aitch was helping, he wanted to help Harry with the Levitation Charm." After Ron left, I saw Snape staring at you, cursing your broomstick. Hagrid said that nothing could interfere with the broomstick except the dark artsโno one could have such an effect on Flywheel 2000. I could tell at a glance if someone was casting a spell, Harry, I'd read all the curse books! You have to keep your eyes glued to your target when you cast a spell, not even for a moment, and Snape didn't blink at all, I could see it very clearly. And, haven't you noticed? As soon as Snape had an accident, Harry returned to the broomstick. โ
Hermione's well-reasoned statement overrode Ron's speculation in Harry's mind. But he didn't bother to say thank you to Edge, maybe he had something more important - he thought that what Snape was trying to steal had something to do with Nicol Lemay from Hagrid's leak.
Aitch didn't want to explain it over and over again, he didn't do anything wrong, in the minds of those who believed in him, he didn't have to explain, and in the minds of those who didn't trust him (like Ron), no matter how much he explained.
