Chapter Eighty-Seven: Where the Differences Lie

Hearing the hint that the golden egg contained a second mission, the Ravenclaws became more interested in the Triwizard Tournament and were eager to solve the puzzle.

Aiqi didn't want to spoil the fun, after all, his classmates had specially prepared a celebration party for him. Aitch inserted his fingernails into the golden egg's groove and drew a circle along the groove before peeling it off.

There was nothing in the egg, empty, completely empty—but the moment Aitch opened it, there was a most terrible sound, a loud and shrill cry that filled the room. It sounds like a person who is tormented by the Diamond Curse and screams in terrible pain.

In time, Aitch slammed it shut. After this, the people of Ravenclaw never mentioned their curiosity about the puzzle, the sound harsher than fingernails scratching glass, and no one wanted to listen to it a second time.

"Do you have a clue?" Luna tasted the cream cake and painted her face like a little cat, "Need my help?" ”

"Don't worry, I've got an idea." Aitch replied, "Besides, isn't there still three months to prepare!" ”

Hermione worked tirelessly for her house-elf liberation society. She learned from George how to enter the kitchen, and was eager to do the mental work of the house-elves.

She hopes to unite the power of house-elves, refer to the methods used by the proletariat in human history to gain the right to speak, and want to help them achieve their due benefits.

"This young lady, do you need a cup of tea?" It was Dobby who greeted Hermione as he entered the kitchen, he was so different from a group of house-elves in Hogwarts-style uniforms, and he dressed like a wizard in the Muggle world. Wizards did not understand Muggle tastes and habits, and were always confused and mistaken.

Dobby's dirty pillowcase hadn't been changed since he left the Malfoy house. Now he wears a teapot cover as a hat on his head, a few bright badges pinned to it, a tie with a horseshoe pattern hanging from his bare chest, and shorts and unpaired socks worn by children playing football. One was black, which Harry had taken off when he "rescued" Dobby, and the other was a new pink with orange stripes.

Hermione didn't laugh out loud, as Dobby's dress made her feel the need to "save" the house-elves.

"Thanks, no need to bother." Hermione refused, for she felt bad at the thought of the elves bowing and curtsy to her.

The erected ears of the surrounding elves drooped down all of a sudden, and Hermione's "non-cooperation" disappointed them.

Hermione frowned at the sight, worried about the servile weight of the elves.

"Wait...... Please wait a minute" Hermione called out to the different elf in front of her, he seemed to be very unsociable with the other elves around him, and there was a faint look of rejection.

"Please don't say that, miss, just call me Dobi." Dobby frightened the "please" and bowed to her, his nose almost touching the ground.

"Is there anything wrong with you?" Dobby's eyes widened and he looked at Hermione expectantly.

"How long have you been here, Dobby?" Hermione asked him.

"It's only been half a semester, Miss," Dobby replied with certainty, "Dobby was at Hogwarts two days before school started. ”

"Then why do they all think of you like that?" Hermione noticed that the elves around her had an aversion to seeing heretics when they looked at Dobby.

"Oh, miss. Dobby is used to it. Dobby said, grinning at Hermione with bared teeth. Because Dobby wants to be paid. Dobby has been traveling the country for more than a year, miss, looking for work everywhere! ”

The elves couldn't listen anymore and took refuge elsewhere.

But Hermione is happy because she has found a like-minded elf. She said, "You're doing the right thing, Dobby!" ”

"Thank you, Miss!" Dobby is also glad that someone understands him, "Dobby likes to work, but he also wants to wear clothes and get paid, but everyone doesn't think so." So under the guidance of Mr. Edge, Dobby came to Hogwarts, and Headmaster Dumbledore was really willing to hire Dobby......"

"Nonsense!" Dobby's narration was interrupted by a shrill voice, his voice so high that Hermione sounded like a dolphin soaring high notes.

This elf seems to have a lot of status in the kitchen, and the elves who follow him all look like he is the leader.

"It's not like Mobi slandered Mr. Edge, so he can't give a scum elf like Dobby to point out!" The surrounding elves nodded in agreement.

"Ciel, what Dobby said is true." It was Ciel, the elf who often called Aitch to him. It was a matter of pride for him to be able to call his heir, and the elves around him respected him for a long time.

Dobby tells his story, "It was the second Tuesday before the end of the summer vacation, and Dobby will never forget that day. ”

"Dobby wanders around Diagon Alley with Twilight, who turned out to be the house-elf of Mr. Crouch's family, but is as free as Dobby." Dobby explained to Hermione that when "freedom" was mentioned, all the elves seemed to see a contagion and unconsciously retreated.

Then, Dobby and Twilight meet Mr. Edge, who takes Twilight in. Although Mr. Aitch no longer needs to hire Dobby, the kind Mr. gives Dobby a suggestion to come to Hogwarts to try, and it really works, Dobby does have a job. ”

"That's not the essence of a house-elf." The elves said. They slammed the door shut in front of Dobby!

"You're saying Aitch also took in a pokemon, the one named Twilight?" Hermione's lips trembled, thinking of something.

"Yes, miss." Dobby paused and waited for Hermione to finish.

"It's okay, you continue." Hermione bit her lip and asked Dobby to continue.

"Yes." Dobby continued what he had just said, "Professor Dumbledore said, Miss, if Dobby wants to get paid, he'll pay Dobby!" So Dobby is now a free elf, sir, and Dobby gets one Galleon a week, and one day off a month! ”

"That's not a lot!" Hermione was unexpectedly angry, and she shouted.

"Professor Dumbledore pays Dobby ten Galleons a week, and weekends off," Dobby said, shuddering suddenly, as if so much free time and so much pay was frightening, "but Dobby told him to lower his pay and holidays, miss...... Dobby likes freedom, miss, but he doesn't like too much freedom either, miss, he likes to work better. ”

"What about Twinkle? Did Aitch say anything about giving her any treatment? Hermione abruptly turned to the question again.

Dobby opened his mouth. "Forget it, no need, I'll ask him myself." Hermione turned and pushed open the kitchen door.

Aitch seemed to have cracked the hint, so he didn't care about the golden egg at all, even if Luna took it and juggled it on her head.

"Hey!" Luna retreated to the entrance of the hallway, and someone rushed over and collided with her.

The golden egg rolled to the ground sullenly, and the two of them covered the place where they touched it, rubbing it in pain.

"Are you alright?" Aitch lifted Luna up, and when she shook her head, she turned her gaze to another.

"You ......" Aitch and Hermione, who was sitting on the ground, stared wide-eyed, but reached out to help her up.

Hermione didn't accept the help, she stood up and asked Aitch angrily, "I heard you took in a house-elf named Twilight?" ”

"yes, what's wrong?" Aitch nodded and realized something was wrong.

"Then did you pay her and give her a holiday?" There was still a hint of hope in Hermione's eyes.

Aitch understood that this was to make him treat the elves "humanely". Hermione's Elf Liberation Association Edges had also heard about it.

"I think I'm pretty nice to her."

As soon as Aitch's words came out, only disappointment remained in Hermione's eyes, which was a disguised denial of Hermione's question.

"Slave master, exploiter......" Hermione scolded with tears in her eyes, "Edge, I misread you!" ”

"Why don't you catch up?" Luna was holding the golden egg, and this was the second time she had asked this question.

"No, I don't." Aitch replied again.

"We all think we're right and we stand our ground. Maybe that's fate. Aitch sighed, lonely as winter.
