Chapter 101: "Ransom"
O.W.Ls will replace the final exams of this year's fifth graders, and every professor is very serious. As the fifth-year study task was heavier than last year's, Aitch knocked on Professor Horace's evening door under the pretext of asking questions about Potions class.
In order for all to go well, Aitch also brought out his treasured possessionβa bottle of Elixir that Snape had given Aitch as a gift for third-year Christmas, and now was the time to use it.
"Dumbledore left the matter to you?" Professor Horace held his glasses and saw through the world, and asked Edge, "If you take a good look at the memories that Dumbledore stole from me, you should know, I don't know anything." β
"I know Professor. Actually, I'm just here to make a confirmation. Aitch was noncommittal, "Since I'm here, I'm sure I know that Voldemort learned some information from you, and that's what he personally admitted." β
Aitch took a wine bottle from a wine shelf, "I can tell that he still has a lot of respect for you, I heard that you explained to him about that realm?" β
Wine strengthens people's courage and soothes their emotions.
Perhaps as luck would have it, Professor Horace did not drive Aitch out, but instead took the glass.
"I don't see any memories of this with Dumbledore." Edge's words expose Professor Horace's deception.
Professor Horace pinched his glass, "You also want to know what I said to him?" β
"No, no!" Professor Horace shook his head, "I've missed it once, I can't be wrong again. You don't have to ask, I won't tell you anything. β
"You're laughing, Professor." Aitch denied Professor Horace's speculation, "I've heard Dumbledore say that I won't ask any more questions until I'm past the death-and-death barrier. What I want to know is, did Voldemort ever reveal the number of Horcruxes? We've found seven so far, and you know, we're just here to confirm. β
"Seven?" Professor Horace was taken aback, "Did he really do that much?" He jumped to his feet, amazed at Voldemort's madness.
"There should be no more. I remember him liking this number the most, because seven is the most magical number, and it should only be seven. β
Maybe because Voldemort made Horcruxes decades ago, the number of Horcruxes hasn't changed because of Edge. Let Aitch rest assured: as long as they hold on to the two soul fragments they have, none of Voldemort will get stronger.
Aitch relented and continued to drink with Professor Horace, bringing back bad memories for him and making Aitch feel embarrassed.
After drinking too much, Professor Horace gradually opened up the conversation. "Edge, you know what? Tom turned out to be a very good student, and he was no less talented than you. β
"At that time, he had already sensed the existence of the realm, so he came to ask me."
"As a professor, I naturally wanted to be able to teach a student who surpassed me, so I taught him a lot of things and told him about the existence of life and death."
"And then?" Seeing that Professor Horace was a little drunk, Aitch struck while the iron was hot and asked for more words.
The memories were painful, and Professor Horace regretted it, "It was because of my words that Tom was taken the wrong path!" β
"Life and death is a hurdle, if you can't pass it, you will die! Tom tries to find a way to get past this level, and eventually he discovers the legend of the Horcrux. β
Using Horcruxes to save his life, it's a shame that Voldemort came up with such a safe way - even if he can't get through, he won't take his life.
Just as time passed quietly, a sea change took place at the Ministry of Magic, and the head of the Ministry of Magic was replaced. Then began a period of terror that lasted for several years in the wizarding world.
This is also related to the last time Sirius was rescued, when Fudge summoned a large number of Aurors to capture Voldemort, and not only did he almost send everyone to the Jedi, but he also returned in vain.
You must know that Convenience has always wanted to bring Hogwarts under control, and Dumbledore has never been at odds. But this time, it was Dumbledore who had to rely on Dumbledore to save the big guy, and Fudge couldn't suppress the dissatisfaction and doubts of his subordinates, so he had to take the blame and resign.
The alternation of power was quickly completed. The new minister reassigns his authority to his subordinates in order to give him greater control over the Ministry.
Changing generals is never a good idea, especially when facing a formidable opponent like Voldemort. Unfortunately, Voldemort really picked such a chaotic moment to attack.
The first to fall was Azkaban, and the Dementors had long been dissatisfied with the Ministry of Magic because they didn't "eat" enough. The advent of Voldemort's time put an end to a period of peace under the control of the Ministry of Magic, which was undoubtedly more in line with their interests
The new Minister is also focusing on cleaning up the "traces" left by Fudge, completely ignoring Dumbledore and Fudge's reminder to beware of Voldemort's robbery of Azkaban.
Overnight, Azkaban became an island, and before the Ministry of Magic arrived, everyone and the Dementors were gone.
Even the Ministry of Magic couldn't hold on to such a big case, and newspapers and magazines such as "Daily Prophet" and "Singing Contrarian" got the news and entered the public's attention the next day.
Countless roaring letters were sent to the Ministry of Magic, drowning out the staff handling them.
The tension of the impending war has infected the wizarding world, the Aurors have been patrolling the streets day and night, and the curfew at Hogwarts has become stricter.
And Voldemort, after doing the great thing of Azkaban, went dormant again, and did not attack any more houses. Just released the Dementors and let them cause trouble for the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore.
Harry was again re-embraced by a letter that somehow had been sent to Hogwarts, with only one sentence on it: If you want to save Black, you will exchange my things for them.
The parchment spontaneously combusted in Harry's hand, and in his panic, Harry saw the inscription, which was written by Voldemort in dark green ink.
He had never looked forward to Snape's make-up lesson on Monday. Because Voldemort really discovered the existence of Harry's consciousness, every few days, let him "meet" Sirius, let him see Sirius's miserable condition, and let him hurry up.
Harry suddenly remembered that Dumbledore had reminded him that Aitch had a knack for Occlumency.
"Occlumency?" Aitch looked at Harry meaningfully, "Why do you suddenly ask this?" β
Harry couldn't tell Aitch about Sirius, it was Voldemort's threat, so he had to half-truthfully say, "I just want to finish my studies sooner, Snape is deliberately torturing me, so I hope you can help me." β
"That's right...... Harry's reasoning was very realistic, and Aitch didn't think much of it, "Actually, the Occlumency technique I use is different from what the professor taught you, but the principle should be similar." Harry, you should use the power of your will as much as you would break the Imperius Curse. Just try to keep your thoughts and thoughts under control. β
The memory palace and the Occlumency are different systems, and Aitch can't teach Harry, only conflict. So give your own understanding of this magic, hoping to help. "If you really can't do it, then practice more for yourself, and if you practice more, your resistance to soul retrieval will become stronger."
