Chapter 40: Drugged
Hermione spent a few weeks in the school doctor's office. When the other students returned to school after Christmas, rumors circulated about her disappearance, as each of them rightly believed that she had been attacked.
So many students lined up to see her, so much so that Mrs. Pomri had to take out the curtains and surround Hermione's bed, lest she be ashamed of being seen with her hairy face.
"If I grow a beard, I'll take a break from my schoolwork." One night, Ron poured a pile of books on the table next to Hermione's bed, thinking she couldn't stop her school because she was lying in a hospital bed.
After a few weeks of conditioning by Madame Pomrui, the hair on Hermione's face fell out, and her eyes slowly turned brown back. This change has greatly encouraged her.
"I suppose you don't have any clues, do you?" She added in a whisper, just in case Madame Pomri heard it.
"Nope." Harry said dejectedly. On Christmas night, Malfoy didn't have any doubts about Harry's attire, so Harry believed Malfoy and said that he didn't know who the Slytherin heir was. "We can only hope that Aitch will give us what we want."
"Then again, Hermione." Ron was unhappy with her progress, "I remember you made the truth potion first, why haven't you let Aitch drink it yet?" β
"It's easier said than done," Hermione's eyes flickered, "what a fine man he is. It's not like Crabbe and Goyle, two idiots, who just see a piece of cake and swallow it without thinking about it. "That's how they drugged those two on Christmas night, Harry." If we can't get it the first time, we may reveal our intentions. β
"Don't worry, I'll look for a chance." Hermione was a little impatient, not wanting to dwell on the issue.
"What's that?" Harry saw something sticking out of Hermione's quilt.
"Isn't this Edge's fox?" Ron looked at Hermione with a look that was a little wrong, "You said you didn't have a chance, because you had a great time with Edge's fox!" β
"Don't talk nonsense," Hermione's face flushed, "Erwin came by the way to bring me Aitch's class notes. Elwin seemed to hear Hermione calling it, jumping out of the covers and rolling around on the bed, "Aitch has been learning some magic with Professor Lockhart lately, and he doesn't have time to take care of Erwin, so he asked me to take care of it." Hermione knew that Erwin was very well-behaved and didn't run around in the bedroom, and Aitch put it here for Hermione, more in the hope of relieving her boredom.
Harry flipped through Hermione's notebook pressed under the pillow, and Edge's homework was indeed much cleaner than he and Ron's. "Huh? This is ......" Harry flipped to a recovery card.
Ron snatched it up and read it aloud, "To Miss Granger, I wish you a speedy recovery." Caring for Your Teacher, Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, Merlin Order of Merlin 3rd Class Recipient, Honorary Member of the Defence Forces of the Dark Arts, Wizard Weekly Award for Most Charismatic Smile Award. β
"You use this as a bookmark and sleep under your pillow?" Ron was taken aback. But Madame Pomri saved her from the embarrassment of answeringβshe came over with Hermione's medicine for the evening, and threw out the two lads who had been delaying the time.
At the beginning of the month, Aitch finished his extra studies with Professor Lockhart, such as the Forgetting Charm, Modified Memories, and the bone-pulling magic that had tormented Harry.
On this day, Aitch and Draco, Neville ended the day's training. Since that day at the fight club, both of them have felt the need to train, and will continue to come to Aitch whenever they have time. Of course, it cannot be ruled out that the two of them want to use the power of Aitch to complete their homework.
"Hermione?" As Aitch was tidying up the empty classroom, he felt like there was one more person, "You're out of the hospital!" "Nonsense, otherwise how could people appear in front of his eyes?
Well, Hermione nodded, putting her arm around Erwin. "They're all gone?" Hermione helped restore the last table and chair that had been knocked over.
"yes," Aitch wondered, "why do you have time to come to me today, and you don't plan to continue your detective game?" β
"Finding the Chamber of Secrets and the heir to Slytherin is not a detective game." Hermione was like a wild kitten, "I'm here today to thank you." Second, I want to ask you, what do you know? β
Aitch knew what Hermione was thanking for, "You're welcome, I'm a gentleman. As for what you want to know, I'm sorry, I won't tell you. Again, this is the end of this matter, you don't care. β
"A little hint, we didn't get anything useful from Malfoy, please." Hermione snapped Erwin's two front paws together.
"No, Hermione. I'm really doing it for your good. Aitch put down the pumpkin juice he was about to drink, buried himself in the book, and pretended to be reading it carefully.
"Hmph, nasty." Hermione pulled out the book Aitch was holding and threw Erwin and Aitch's notes into his arms. Unaware of what was happening, Erwin rolled down from Aitch in a cute and instinctive ball.
"Well, how can you ...... that?" said Edge, clutching his chest and bending down to find the fox. When he looked up, Hermione had already left, and closed the door, and the book that had been taken away was placed next to the pumpkin juice.
Looks like Hermione didn't get any information and left! Aitch smiled and took a sip of pumpkin juice and flipped the book to the previous page.
Did Hermione just give up and leave? Of course not. Leaving just to let Aitch let her guard down, she took the opportunity to drug the cup of pumpkin juice with a dropper while Aitch was looking for Elwin, then put down the book, hid outside the door, and watched through the crack in the door as Aitch drank the "spiced" pumpkin juice.
Aitch opened the book, read only a few lines, and then began to shake his head like a rattle, and then leaned back a little dizzily, and lay down on the chair, the book in his hand fell to the ground with a "click" sound.
Hermione pushed the door open, looked around the hallway and quickly closed the door. She approached Edge's side, picked up the book that had fallen on the floor, dusted it off, and placed it on the table. "If you don't tell me the truth, I won't use this method." Hermione's cheeks were bulging, as if someone had her off.
She straightened Aitch so he could lie down more comfortably, and began her questioning. "Edge, what do you know about the Chamber of Secrets and the Slytherin heirs?"
Edge's eyes were blank at this time, and even though Hermione was right in front of him, his pupils were dilated, and he felt like he was looking into the distance. His voice was as soft as weakness, "Chamber of Secrets...... Slytherin ...... Heir...... I ......" Edge's voice grew quieter, and Hermione had to lean her ear up to listen.
ββ¦β¦ I...... I'm not going to tell you. Edge's voice was small, but clear.
Hermione's eyes were full of surprise, because Aitch suddenly became energetic from the weak and sluggish state just now, "Truth Elixir, I really can't prevent this thing, so why would I drink such a dangerous thing?" β
"How is that possible!" Hermione was so frightened that she took several steps back.
"Oh, you're asking why I know?" Aitch noticed Hermione's surprise, "On Christmas Day, I smelled another smell in the pot where you boiled the medicine, that addictive smell is not a compound potion, I looked it up, and finally found out that it was a truth potion." He shook a small dropper in his hand. As Hermione's ears approached, Aitch pulled it out of her heavy pocket.
"But who will this thing be for? Who else could it be for? "When Aitch found out about this thing that was beyond the scope of the original book, he understood that it was used against himself, a character who was also beyond the original book.
"I don't know when you're going to drug me, but I'm going to create an opportunity like that, it's as simple as that."
Hearing this, Hermione knew that she was able to do it just now, not because she seized the opportunity, but because Aitch asked her to do it. Glancing at Aitch fiercely, Hermione didn't rush up to snatch back the elixir, and simply left. But she was even more determined to continue the investigation and win Aitch once.
