Chapter 44: I'm going to kick him in the ass

"What is this?"

Jason looked at the string of inexplicable words on the computer, what was that? French? Spanish? Italian? Certainly not English anyway.

"The Riddle of the Riddler"

Bruce answered Jason's question as he parsed the words that Jason understood but couldn't understand what he was talking about.

“... So, what is that? ”

Jason looked at the other half of the screen like pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle, but of course they hadn't been put together yet.

"Another clue left by the Riddler"

The Riddler, what he hears from the mouths of the Gotham thugs and what he hears from Bruce is no different to Jason, it's all one comment - super conceited.

Watching Bruce parse the pile of words that looked like a book from the sky, Jason bored here and manipulated the computer to start deciphering the giant puzzle.

At first, Jason thought it would be relatively easy to put the pieces together, but after a few attempts, there were always a few extra pieces of the puzzle that had nowhere to go, and Jason finally realized how difficult it was to make this seemingly simple jigsaw puzzle.

“... The next time I see the Riddler, I'll kick him hard! ”

Jason said angrily, how can there be such a boring person in this world to set up such a boring game? Are they all idle??!

"This jigsaw puzzle is not just a pure jigsaw puzzle, it is actually a crossword puzzle, the text left by the riddler is the key to deciphering, the horizontal statement of this text represents a fragment, the vertical represents a fragment, the oblique angle is also, the position of all the pieces of this puzzle is indicated in this word...."

Bruce tells Jason about the patterns in the riddle, lists all the possible words, and tries to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Jason's explanation of Bruce is completely left ear in and right ear out, and he can't understand how anyone can be idle and panic to develop such a game purely for brain-burning?

Ay? What did Bruce just say? What's wrong with that Artemis woman? Why did you put that fragment with the moon motif in the upper left corner? Why did you put the deer shard in the bottom right corner? The remaining bit of space next to it doesn't feel like there's a new piece of it....

"Do you understand? Jason? ”

Jason didn't understand what Bruce was saying, he thought Bruce was like a magician, and then somehow the pieces turned into a beautiful pattern.

"Hmm.."

Jason nodded dumbfounded, though he didn't understand at all. Bruce didn't debunk Jason's lie, after all, it was a riddle of the Riddler, and it might have been too difficult for Jason.

"But what can Bruce do when he spells this picture together?"

Jason looked at the puzzle with a piece missing from it, a beautiful picture, but what did the Riddler want to express with it?

"This picture is the time and place of the Riddler's next action"

Jason couldn't tell the time and place from this picture after looking at it for a long time.

“... Is it night? ”

Since the picture is a view under the moon, it is not surprising that it would be so.

"No, the moon represents the place"

Bruce somehow opened the Gotham map on his computer and searched for all the places related to the moon.

“.... So this vacant fragment is his goal? ”

Jason watched Bruce's movements and guessed a little.

Bruce moved his gaze from the screen to Jason's face and gave him an affirmative look.

"And that deer is also the location?"

"Right"

Jason finally saw the clues, the moon was in the upper left corner of the gap, the elk was in the lower right corner, the upper right corner was a vacant landscape, and the lower left corner was a distant view of a mountain range and a close view of a blooming flower.

If you replace it all with a map of Gotham....

"Headache..."

Jason rubbed his head, and he felt something pop out of his head again.

"Found it!"

Bruce's voice successfully captures Jason's attention, and a store called Bright Starry Sky is highlighted on a zoomed-in area map on the screen.

Starry Sky is a handmade jewelry store that does not have its own brand but processes the jewelry brought by its customers according to their requirements, but the high level of craftsmanship quickly makes the store a star. Many celebrities in the entertainment industry have become frequent customers of this store in order to avoid embarrassing collisions with others.

Immediately northeast of the starry sky, on the corner of a bustling cross-street, is a two-story dress shop called Selene, the goddess of the moon in ancient Greek mythology, like Artemis.

In the southwest corner of the starry sky, there is a business building, and there is nothing special to worry about on the ground level, but there is a bar called Elk in its basement.....

"So this still represents the position on the ground?"

After listening to Bruce's explanation, Jason could only let out meaningless sighs.

"And what about time?"

Jason can already understand the purpose of this puzzle for the Riddler, but what about time?

"Tomorrow at ten o'clock in the evening"

For Bruce's answer, Jason could only ask with his eyes wide. He really couldn't ask where Bruce was telling the time.

"The moon in the picture is a full moon, and the flowering flower is a flower called epiphany, which usually blooms only at 10 o'clock in the evening."

“.. And tomorrow is the full moon."

“.. To "

Jason rubbed his head, listening to Bruce explain that it made him think it was easy, but let him see for himself, he couldn't tell the one, two, three from this puzzle. He may not even be able to put the puzzle together.

"He... How boring he is! Shouldn't you steal jewelry or something quietly grab it on a dark and windy night? It's like Catwoman?!!"

Jason really couldn't understand why the Riddler had gone to such a great length, to make such a brain-burning thing, just to tell others what he wanted to do? When to dry? Where are you doing???

"He didn't want it himself, but he couldn't help it"

Bruce answered his question lightly. He had dealt with the Riddler quite a few times, and he knew him well, and if he guessed correctly, the Riddler had already guessed his identity, but there was not enough evidence to prove it. The man has a fanatical desire for expression, so he can't stand his mind not being known, so he will go to great lengths to leave clues that can prove his own brain at every time and place. Even if he didn't want to stay at all, he couldn't control his desire to perform.

“.... Sure enough, it's a madman."

Once again, Jason deeply felt that none of the underground bosses in Gotham were normal.

"Okay, let's rest early, we're going to catch this guy tomorrow"

Jason looked at Bruce's back, glanced at the bunch of inexplicable things on the screen, and then made a decision:

"I'm going to have to give this boring guy's ass hard tomorrow!"
