Chapter 61: The Rebellious Period
In the old town of Gotham City, in a room on the first floor of an old building deep in an alley, several men sat around on the ground. Stacks of cash lay on the ground between them.
A red-haired man with a cigarette in his mouth seemed to be the head of the middle, dividing the cash at the moment.
"Oh no! Head! ”
The door suddenly opened, and a slightly chubby man broke in from the outside with an unsteady pace. Before he could even breathe heavily, he hurriedly closed the somewhat old door, and kept saying:
"That guy is here!"
He didn't even need to name names, so that the people who lived in Gotham's underground could leak this panicked gesture and not think about it except for the Night Knight.
Before the man's words fell, there was a huge shock from the door that he was holding against, causing the people to fly to the center of the room with the door.
A red figure deftly rushed in from the lower level of the machine-gun's range, and quickly eliminated the two minions standing at the front with two darts.
The drug dealers hurriedly turned their guns down to aim at the red figure, but the red figure jumped up from the ground and jumped over the heads of the crowd before being hit by bullets.
Flying up and kicking the two closest minions to the ground, the machine gun that didn't have time to stop was out of control, and a few poor guys seemed to be swept into the chaos and let out a wail.
A black figure appeared in the doorway, blocking several guys who wanted to sneak away. A few black bats followed, hitting every target with a gun with precision, successfully stopping the noisy gunfire in the room.
Robin flew up and kicked a man in a white vest to the only table in the room, walked over and pressed the man's chin with his hand, fixing the head hanging from the table.
The face that had grown a male silhouette exerted an oppressive force on the man at a very close distance;
"Good harvest?! Litter! ”
The unique voice of a teenager brings an endless sense of oppression. Jason's address to the drug dealer made Bruce's eyebrows, hidden under the mask, tuft slightly.
A gunshot rang out, and the bullet flew past Jason's ear, drawing the eyes of both Batman and Robin to the eye at the same time.
The red-haired man leaned against the corner, clutching a pistol in his dying throes.
"Cut! The guy who doesn't hit the south wall and doesn't give up."
Robin skillfully avoided the muzzle track, looked at a gap, and the two bats directly hit the man's arm and shoulder while emitting electricity, taking advantage of this gap, Robin has come to the man.
Sensing Robin's purpose, Batman hurriedly stopped him. But it was still a step too late, and Robin hit the man's collarbone hard with an elbow, judging by the man's screams, his collarbone should have been broken.
Looking at the fainting and screaming drug dealers, Bruce felt that he should have a good talk with Jason.
Upon returning to the Batcave, Bruce, who had been silent all the way, pointed out Jason's increasingly violent performance in the line of duty, and this is not the first time this has happened. Or was it because Jason's physical strength was not enough before, so his attacks didn't show the strength they should have? Moreover, Jason's attitude is especially concerning to Bruce.
"He's a drug dealer, shouldn't I put him on the ground before I beat him up?!"
That's what Bruce fears the most, and Jason doesn't think there's anything wrong with his actions at all.
"But we need his clues, and you've made him lose the ability to speak."
Bruce unconsciously raised his voice, the drug dealer gang was likely involved with Black Mask, but Jason made them lose that clue.
"There are others, he's not dead, you can wait until he can speak!"
"By then, I'm afraid Black Mask will have destroyed all the evidence!"
Bruce's words softened Jason's originally hard tone, he lowered his head and thought for a moment and said:
"Sorry, I was too impulsive, but I don't think I did anything wrong, you have no idea what this garbage has done to the kids!"
Jason bypassed Bruce and left the Batcave, stopping the conversation. And Bruce could only stare helplessly at his back.
"What are you worried about?"
Alfred asked as he walked over with dessert and coffee, looking at the man who had been staring at the computer screen.
"Jason's Character"
Bruce knew from the first time he met Jason, the fury hidden in Jason's personality, and now that fury began to manifest more and more obviously, and the increase in Jason's own strength also made him begin to suppress the flaws in his personality more and more weakly. Bruce began to worry a little about whether he could steer Jason to the right sense of value.
"Maybe it was wrong from the beginning, using Batman to teach a child the right sense of value..."
His admonition to Jason is unconvincing, Batman's existence itself is an illegal and violent character, he uses intimidation to obtain the information he needs, and illegally breaks into private houses at will to search for clues, maybe he made a mistake from the beginning, the biggest difference between Jason and Dick is that Jason has never received normal cognition, including the cognition of the law, the cognition of violence, and even worse is that it is Batman who teaches Jason normal cognition.....
"Oh, I think you're too worried, every boy goes through a period of time when he wants to send the world's sins to hell, I suggest you talk to Master Jason in a different way"
Jason's state is a bit worrying, but every parent goes through a period of time worrying about their children's inexplicably crazy ideas.
Children at this age will always have an inexplicable self-confidence, confident that they can change the world, or confident that they can conquer the world, or confident that they can eliminate evil or something.
"It's just a rebellious period, a growth that everyone will experience"
“... Ah Fu, this can't be summed up simply as a rebellious period."
"This is of course the rebellious period, the rebellious period peculiar to being a child of Batman"
Alfred said with an indifferent expression, he had already seen the most rebellious children in the world, and the rebellious period of other people was not worth mentioning in his eyes.
“.. Dick didn't."
"May I remind you that Master Dick is still running away from home, and that he has rejected his offer to come back for dinner over the weekend."
Alfred's words successfully silenced Bruce's subsequent complaints. After eating the cookies and thinking for a long time, Bruce asked again:
"Do I have that too?"
Originally, it was just a casual question, Bruce thought that he was still a relatively well-behaved child, and since the death of his parents, he didn't seem to worry Alfred much, even if he traveled around the world to study, he always reported his whereabouts to the old man on time and on time.
“..... Absolutely"
Alfred's answer surprised Bruce.
“... I've had times when you were so angry that you wanted to throw it out? ”
Bruce asked, uncertain, at least he had never felt it in this dutiful old man.
"Of course"
"When?"
After Bruce finished asking, silence fell in the Batcave, and Alfred's eyes, surrounded by loose eyelids and wrinkles, stared at Bruce for a long time before he said:
"When you told me you decided to be Batman...."
