Chapter Twenty-Eight: Speech in the Open Air

Jason didn't sleep well this night, his brain sorting through the fragments of various memories as he hibernated, and he remembered many things that he didn't quite remember himself. It wasn't until sunrise that Jason finally got out of his dreams, and opened his tired eyes to see the bright light coming through the cracks in the curtains.

Got up and opened the curtains, Gotham, which was cloudy and rainy all year round, was actually a sunny day today. The harsh sunlight shone through the glass, and it took Jason's turquoise eyes for a while to finally get used to the rare light.

After standing by the window for a while, Jason's empty brain was finally awakened by his temple. After a brief wash, he left the small house in casual clothes.

Today, Gotham has a lot of people in public, young parents, young children, and the elderly. The atmosphere on the street was peaceful, which made Jason, who had lived in the darkest world all day, think for a moment that he had arrived in the metropolis.

It took Jason a moment to remember that it was the weekend. What are you doing every day? What tasks are there on the day, what day does he need to do on the day, he has almost forgotten what normal people usually remember is the day of the week today, and what day of the week to do something.

Gotham's rare clear skies, the sun unsparing its enthusiasm, but this makes Jason, who always acts at night, a little uncomfortable. Bringing up the hat of his sweatshirt covered the part of his eyes, relieving the irritation of the bright light on his eyes. I walked into a nearby burger joint, ordered coffee and burgers, and sat down by the window.

While eating that Big Mac burger and looking at the bustling crowd outside the window, why hasn't Black Mask moved lately?

According to his original assumption, after snatching the special weapon that Black Mask had purchased, the Black Mask guy would be so angry that he would start chasing him around. With a little guidance to point the finger at the drug dealers, it is easy to provoke a large-scale firefight.

However, because of that guy's intervention, the later plan could not be continued, but the black mask was inevitably too silent, if he was not very sure that it was the goods that the black mask bought, he began to wonder if he had grabbed the wrong thing.

There is no new list about him on the dark web, and he doesn't even mention it, as if it never happened.

He could understand that Black Mask had avoided buying such a dangerous thing and becoming a common target of the underground forces, but that guy was too calm. Otherwise, what could be more important than that.........

The crowd on the street suddenly ran in one direction, and the strange behavior of the crowd caught Jason's attention.

[What's going on today?] 】

Jason felt a little out of society. Looking at the little burger that was still left in his hand, he thought about it and stuffed it into his mouth, and then poured his coffee down.

Anyway, there's nothing special going on today, and I'm not in the mood to do anything because of that messy dream last night, so let's go over and take a look, maybe it's something useful for me.

Cover your eyes with the hood of your sweatshirt and follow the flow of people towards Gotham's Central Park.

I followed the flow of people to Central Park, only to find that it was a booth, and the police officers in charge of maintaining order were constantly maintaining order, and it seemed that some big man was going to come to the open to give a speech on his political achievements or something.

I don't know when these dignitaries in Gotham began to like to give open-air speeches in this central park, as if this would make them seem close to the people.

"Humph! It's boring, it's just a chance to give some thoughtful guys a chance to kill them."

Jason had no interest in this kind of purely deceptive thing. In his opinion, the only effect of this behavior is to give a perfect opportunity to those who are tempted to trouble them, such as poison ivy. If he's not mistaken, it seems that a bill to expand the highway to ease the pressure of traffic congestion was passed not so long ago. With what he knew about the woman, it was strange that she didn't show up on this occasion.

Jason was tempted to leave, and he began to wonder why he would somehow get involved in such a thing. But before you know it, this small square is already crowded with people, and there are more people who want to squeeze in.

Jason had to squeeze out of the crowd if he wanted to go the other way, and he gave up after squeezing past a few people and causing a series of shouts. Let the crowd squeeze you wherever you want.

Soon the current mayor of Gotham City walked up to the podium and began his passionate speech.

Jason listened for a long time before he understood that this was a propagandist for the city's number one rich man, Bruce. Wayne has yet another new philanthropic investment program. This plan is mainly aimed at families in the lower layers of Gotham who work hard but have blocked the ascent path due to too fragmented time.

The main purpose of this program is to decentralize large businesses and encourage small businesses that are small in size but can be dispersed to all corners of the city. In this way, when choosing a job among these lower-class people, it can avoid those who are too far away and have fragmented time from wasting a lot of time on the road.

The program originated from a social survey in which a large number of low-level workers were wasted on the road because their homes and places of work were too far apart, so their overall time utilization was too low, resulting in their low income.

Looks like a wonderful plan, but Jason thinks he's really having a twitch in his brain to come and see this, this kind of blues. Wayne's special performance platform, how could that man not come?

Sure enough, after the mayor's impassioned speech came to an end, the protagonist of the speech was invited - Bruce . Wayne.

Dressed in a well-fitting suit and waxed hair with a perfect hairstyle, his appearance caused a scream from the women in the audience.

Bruce walked up to the front desk, greeted the crowd with his trademark smile, and then began to elaborate on the main purpose of his charity project. For the scathing questions from the media, he also maintained his usual demeanor and answered patiently. His remarks caused an uproar among the reporters, all of whom were desperate for the right to ask the man questions. The scene was chaotic for a while, and the police who maintained order worked hard to separate the crowd from the booth.

But none of this had anything to do with Jason, he turned and squeezed his way out of the crowd, and no one cared if he was walking backwards or not.

Bruce stood in the stands, and he could see the behavior of everyone in the audience clearly, from the beginning the man who was tall and wearing a sweatshirt but covered most of his face with a hood caught his idea.

He originally thought that the guy was here to do something, but he didn't expect the man to turn around and leave the venue after a while.

He didn't want to keep his eyes on the departing man, but the man's movement of squeezing out of the crowd made him look so familiar.

"Bruce?"

The mayor whispered a reminder to Bruce that he had been kind to the media for a while, and that it was the reporter's question that stumped him? Although he also thinks that the question just now from the media is a bit too vitriol.

"Mr. Bruce, you may not have heard my question, I wonder who mentioned this charity project? I don't think work is just a phone call away, everything can be solved, and you will perceive the meaning of time for the poor."

The reporter continued to repeat his question sharply. In his opinion, these are the core problems that can be perceived by rich people who can ask why they don't eat snacks when they can't afford bread. So he's going to find out the person who really made the idea, and that's the person who deserves to be reported.

"Ahh It's not me, it's not me, it's what we found out when we were following up with a number of members of the Wayne Group who are in need, and at the same time we saw the relevant social survey, so it's not my opinion or that of one person, it's the overall opinion after comprehensive consideration."

Bruce still smiled at the vitriol reporter, but his eyes searched the crowd for the figure he had just seen......
