Chapter Eighty-Four: The Holy and the Demon

Most of the people who live in the wasteland, except for believers, do not believe in the existence of so-called gods. Even before the war, they believed in the gods, and after crawling out of basements, bomb shelters, looking at the devastated world, they abandoned their previous beliefs.

If God really exists, how could He have allowed His godly people to suffer such a catastrophe, how could He have caused the beautiful world He had created to be destroyed.

Even believers don't know what God really is, they just blindly worship clay statues, stone idols, and pray to their gods for protection and food. They never saw the God they worshipped, and they never received a response from God.

But God is real, and only a very small number of human beings have seen Him.

Thirty billion years ago, the Earth was a water balloon. Because there is no ozone, ultraviolet rays are directly exposed to the pristine earth. The primordial atmosphere is filled with lightning that is almost endless, and the geological changes at the bottom of the ocean are even more drastic, and volcanic eruptions are constantly occurring.

It all repeats itself day after day, and almost never changes. Until one day, seven meteors appeared in the primordial atmosphere.

They are immigrants from distant alien planets after a long interstellar journey. These immigrants bear no resemblance to humans, and they are very different from the imaginary images of gods and aliens.

In order to store enough energy to support interstellar travel, they are very large in size, measured in kilometers. In order to withstand the ubiquitous rays and meteorite rain in the universe, their bodies are covered with hard scales. In order to catch meteorites during their journey to replenish their energy, they grew long wrists and feet. In order to be able to sense threats from all sides, their pupils were surprisingly large, and they had eyes all over their bodies.

They are creatures beyond human imagination.

Yet in the vastness of the universe, they are still just tiny specimens of dust. A supernova explosion hit them hard, and the gas and radiation that escaped from the explosion severely damaged their bodies, and they had to force themselves to land on Earth.

Meteors fell to the equivalent of the present-day Kermadec Trench, and they were the first life forms to appear on Earth.

Their bodies pierced the primeval oceans of the Earth, knocking out several large craters with a diameter of more than two kilometers and a depth of more than two hundred meters at the bottom of the sea. The impact of the impact caused their bodies to collapse and disintegrate. Fortunately, their souls are strong enough to allow them to leave their bodies and continue to live.

They have always wanted to leave Earth, but without the protection of their bodies, their souls can only face the dangerous high-energy rays of the universe.

The earth has become a cage in the universe, imprisoning them in the solar system.

A new change took place, and they sank in their corpses at the bottom of the sea, giving birth to the first life on Earth. This rudimentary single-celled life was too rudimentary for them to pay any attention to the ants.

In their soul state, they lose their notion of time, spending their years in barren primeval seas to kill time, or even directly hibernate to survive a long and hopeless future.

But the environment on Earth is more suitable for life than they expected.

Gradually, some simple life appeared in the barren primeval ocean, and the originally empty and lonely primordial ocean became lively. Animals appeared on Earth 580 million years ago, and this finally caught their attention. They paid great attention to these animals.

They put a lot of energy into these animals, using themselves as a template, using their spiritual power to modify their genes and design intricate organs. In order to adapt to the vacuum of space, they even made the creatures grow hard, protective bones.

Complex life is emerging on Earth at an alarming rate. At that time, the bottom of the earth was filled with countless huge arthropods, mollusks and brachiopods.

But they failed, and these huge and bulky animals could not even leave the ocean, let alone the earth. Disappointed and angry, they directly exterminated 85% of the species on the planet, making room for new species.

Their long lives have given them enough patience to use the earth as a testing ground, where countless species have been created and erased.

This cycle of reincarnation was not broken until the appearance of human beings. They are full of hope for the emergence of intelligent life, but they are afraid of the infinite potential of intelligent life. Therefore, they put a layer of shackles on human beings and locked up their perception of spiritual power. Only a handful of human beings were able to break through this shackle and barely mobilize a trace of spiritual energy.

This has led humanity to take another path, the path of technology.

They are happy to see this, no matter how advanced human technology is, they can kill most people with their mental power in an instant.

If humans develop a spaceship that is advanced enough, they will be able to control humanity and send them back home.

But this time, they were mistaken, and one day, hundreds of ballistic missiles were rising, and countless mushroom clouds were slowly rising all over the earth. The intense radiation instantly hit them who had covered the whole world with their spiritual power.

That war destroyed everything, but it also freed humanity from their rule.

Underneath the First Prison is a god, or a part of God. It is under the direct administration of the parliament of the Central State. The dying members of the council have a pathological desire for their near-endless life. A lot of resources have been poured into this prison to study the art of immortality for them.

The entire island is a huge laboratory, and the prisoners captured from the Deccan plateau are the guinea pigs needed for this experiment.

This is the deepest and darkest secret of this prison. The prisoners would never know that those companions who had quietly disappeared were not dead, but were soaked in a cultivation tank a hundred meters below them.

Anson walked in the middle of the rows of cultivation tanks, where countless organs and corpses of all kinds were soaked. It has a heart the size of a basin, arms with thin scales and hooked claws, and a head that is completely devoid of human features.

These are some of his most prized collections. He could almost recall the time when he got his hands on each collection, the mighty men, lying on the operating table in fear and powerlessness, watching their proud organs being cut off.

It would give him a shuddering sense of excitement.

He was savoring it when his secretary suddenly pushed the door open and hurried in.

"What's going on?"

The interruption of his interest made him a little unhappy, but he still forced himself to suppress it. The secretary had been following him for a long time, and if he came in at this time to disturb him, something big must have happened.

His secretary, a thin middle-aged man, was frightened by his gaze, but he replied anyway.

"Director Zhang underground has discovered that the Holy Son has abnormal fluctuations, so let you go down and have a meeting with him."

PS: After writing this chapter, the entire wasteland world I conceived has finally been sketched out for the most part, absorbing nourishment from the works of many predecessors, and standing on the shoulders of giants. I hope you enjoy the world.
