Chapter Forty-Six: Arkham Asylum

Jason follows Bruce to the legendary Arkham Asylum. The reason why it has become a legend is largely due to the fact that it is dedicated to imprisoning mentally unhealthy criminals.

That's right, it's almost synonymous with the Gotham bosses' exclusive prison.

Arkham Asylum is located at the mouth of a natural bay on the Gotham coast, which was originally just a large mainland island, but when the government planned it to be used to house super-criminals who are not quite sane, it was expanded to its current size, and the entire island is connected to the mainland by only one bridge between Arkham Asylum and the mainland.

Bruce is here to ask the Riddler about the Holy Heart.

After returning that day, Bruce became interested in the jewelry store that had become the target of the Riddler, and even made a special trip to the store to talk to the owner of the starry sky on the grounds that Bruce Wayne had a special order for his new female companion.

It took a whole day, but Bruce did get a lot out of it.

As the richest man in Gotham and almost equivalent to controlling the entire Gotham economic lifeline, Bruce Wayne can naturally find out many of the finale items of this company that specializes in customizing jewelry for upper-class people, such as the treasure of this shop owner's town house, the Holy Heart.

The boss of the starry sky is neither white nor black nor Asian, but an authentic Indian. The Holy Heart is an heirloom of their family, and its provenance is no longer reliable, and it can only be known from the boss's mouth that his ancestors received a gift from heaven before the white man landed on the Indian continent.

Bruce knew when he saw the rough stone that the so-called gift from heaven was more than just an adjective.

The rough had not even been polished, and the beautiful lilac core was leaking through the cracks in the outer discoloration layer that had been polished as it traveled through the atmosphere—a gemstone from the universe.

Bruce offered to buy the gem for his new female companion, but was refused.

"I'm so sorry Mr. Wayne, this gem is our family's heirloom and it's not for sale, it's not a matter of money"

The boss refused very simply, and not because it was Bruce who was standing across from him. Wayne hesitated, even if the man could offer whatever price he offered.

Bruce didn't have to buy the gem, he was just curious why it became a family heirloom. From the boss's mouth, Bruce knows a legend about this gem, a story about a storm that saves a tribe.

Jason followed Bruce into Arkham Asylum, the first time he had been inside Arkham. The caretaker here seems to be the same as Bruce. No, it's a familiar look with Batman.

The guard led Bruce and Jason towards the separate cell where the Riddler was kept, and Jason followed Bruce and looked curiously.

Contrary to what I imagined, it was very clean and quiet, and the only sound of their footsteps walking in the whole space was there.

"Batman!"

A man in the cell found out that it was Batman and immediately rushed to the door, and the heavy iron door shook with a violent impact.

His voice had a ripple effect in the quiet space, and the otherwise quiet cell emitted a variety of sounds one after another. The quiet space was immediately filled with all sorts of vicious curses, some of which even Jason, who grew up at the bottom of Gotham, couldn't listen to them.

"Quiet! Be quiet! You bunch of trash! ”

The guards banged on the door with their batons, trying to stop the drugged men, but to no avail.

"Hey! He's got Robin with him! ”

I don't know who noticed Jason, who had been walking in Bruce's shadow, and let out an exaggerated and disgusting scream.

The prisoners went into a state of madness as if they had been stimulated, and whistles accompanied by explicit provocative words replaced the vicious swearing.

"Hah! Boy, can that old man satisfy you at night! ”

"Where are you doing? On the wall? Air? Or hang from the roof like a bat? ”

I don't know who asked these two questions, which caused all the prisoners to laugh wildly.

"Ahh

Jason turned his head to stare at the closed iron door, the man's full face in the narrow lookout window.

"Robin!"

Bruce's voice came from the front, urging Jason, who was standing in place.

Jason glared at the cell again, then turned to follow Bruce, and there was another burst of laughter behind him.

When Bruce takes Jason into the Riddler's separate cell.

"Who Am I?"

The Riddler sat lazily in his chair and watched Batman and Robin enter.

"Riddler, you know why I'm here"

"I don't know, you've also found my loot from before, what are you still looking for me for?"

The Riddler doesn't seem to be the slightest bit concerned about Batman's appearance.

"You're not curious at all?"

"No, can you go? I still want to sleep."

Completely ignoring the Riddler's advice, Batman quickly walked over and kicked away the chair where the Riddler was sitting, picked him up with one hand before the Riddler fell to the ground, and said in that cold, hoarse voice:

"Edward Nigma, your conceited pride doesn't allow you to tell you what you don't know and tell you what you know!"

Batman is completely sure that he can get some clues from the Riddler.

“... I really.."

"Penguin Man!"

When Batman mentions the nickname, he clearly sees the Riddler's constricted pupils. The Penguin Man is ostensibly a serious businessman, but in fact he is a vindictive guy. He is very good at hiding, and is usually imprisoned for selling stolen goods for others, and can continue to be free with a little bail, but in fact, the penguins are mainly engaged in intelligence trafficking and financial money laundering, which have brought him a huge fortune.

In addition, the penguins also have an inexplicable obsession with the weather, and their dedication to how to manipulate the weather is one of the few scientific research projects that the penguins have paid for.

The Penguin Man has an extensive trade network, and anything can legally enter the market with him, taking advantage of the win-win situation brought about by this network, he and the Gotham underground bosses almost all have dealings.

One of his clients is the Riddler, who helps him sell expensive antiques and art.

"Then let me change the question, what is your purpose in helping the penguin people steal the Holy Heart?!!"
