Chapter 6: The Tall Mage

Delmar rode his horse through the night, the moonlight showing him the way, and the stars lighting his lamp. At night, the mountain trails are particularly quiet, with only a few strange sounds coming from the jungle on either side. But Delmar was not afraid at all, because he couldn't care about so much, and he just wanted to solve the doubts that had accumulated in his heart.

After a long time, Delmar finally came to the col, and he stepped off his horse to look at the strange col in front of him. He always heard from the elders of the town about a strange power here, so the people in the town, including himself, had never seen the true face of this col. The two mountains in front of you are towering, the slopes are smooth and steep, and there is no hair on them, which contrasts with the dense forest behind them. Halfway up the mountain, the two high mountains are shrouded in strange bands of mist. To say that this cloud is strange is that it looks different from ordinary clouds, like a very thin cotton wool that is endless, and occasionally seems to have a strange halo. Although Delmar was a brave guard officer, she couldn't help but feel a chill in her back when she looked at the scene in front of her. In front of the col, it feels like it looks flickering and flickering, but he can't see the end, does he want to continue to move forward?

"Well, no matter what, let me go in and find out," Delmar mustered up his courage and prepared to lead the horse forward. But the horse seemed to sense something strange ahead, and no matter how much Delmar tugged at the reins, it was reluctant to take a step further. Delmar had no choice but to tie her horse to the side and walk on her own.

Delmar drew her sword from her waist and walked cautiously forward in the light of the moonlight. As he walked, he noticed that water began to flow under his feet. However, the current was not rapid, and it only submerged to his ankles. He looked around and saw that there was no other way to go but to go straight on. Suddenly, he noticed a small wooden house on the side of the hill in front of him, and some light was faintly shining through the window.

"Could this be the residence of the tall mage?" Delmar seemed to see hope, and quickened her pace towards the cabin. There was a long bridge at the door of the hut, as if to avoid the current of the water. Delmar climbed up the porch and continued on his way, and after a while he came to the door of the hut.

The wooden house was made of round stones of the same size, and the thick wooden beams on top were all stuck straight into the huge round stones. The wooden house seems to have been built for a long time and is covered with a thick layer of moss on the outside. The doors of the hut seemed to be different from the other woods, a little yellowed, and looked shining in the moonlight, and they were covered with rivets of various sizes, and held in place by iron bars the width of a palm.

Delmar stepped forward and just wanted to knock on the door, when he suddenly found that the knocker was very similar to the round ornament given to him by the old cannon of the guard. "This ......" Delma quickly took out the ornaments in the rucksack to compare. As soon as he took out the ornament, the door opened automatically. Delmar cautiously walked through the door and looked left and right. Facing the door is a wooden wall, and in front of it hangs a square flag with some kind of totem painted on it. On the left is a table with a candlestick with many white candles and some plates that seem to have just finished eating. On the right is a fireplace, with a large half-waist-shaped iron pot on the side, and next to the iron pot is a wooden ladder leading upstairs. But no one was found in the room. Just as Delmar was wondering, there was a sound of footsteps from upstairs. The voice grew closer, and an elongated figure was seen falling down the wooden ladder.

"Who are you?" A soft, gentle voice came from above the wooden ladder, and then a woman in a white gown slowly walked down the wooden ladder.

"Uh... My name is Delmar, and I'm here to find the Master of the Tower." After speaking, Delmar took the opportunity to observe the woman in front of him. She has a beautiful face, snow-white skin, there seems to be some lip gloss on her lips, faint but elegant, tall figure, with a white one-piece long gauze shirt, she looks really moving.

"So it's you?"

"What? Do you know me? "There's something strange about Delmar.

"Oh, no, no, no, the mage said that someone would visit tonight, and I thought to myself, who is it, it turned out to be you." She covered her mouth and grinned.

"Can a high-rise mage really predict the future?"

"Come up with me quickly, if you have any questions, just ask him when you see him."

Delmar followed her to the second floor.

On the second floor, there is a large wooden square table with an oil lamp in each of the four corners, and a person sits behind the square table. "Could it be that he's a tall mage?" Delmar thought to herself.

"Mage, did you say that he is the one who will come in the evening?" The woman asked.

"Hehe, you come closer." The mage beckoned Delmar to step in.

Delmar took a few steps forward and took a closer look at the man in front of her, who was wearing a one-man gray sweater and had a gray beard. "Could it be that the tall mage is the legendary gray-robed wizard?" Delmar was shocked, and felt that this trip to the col must be extraordinary.

"Give me your stuff."

"How do you know I've got something on me? No, you haven't told me if you're a tall mage or not. I can't give it to you yet. Delmar felt uneasy.

The woman on the side suddenly answered: "Why are you so stupid, he is the high-rise mage you are looking for." I am his maid, and my name is Dabao. With that, the woman smiled playfully at Delma.

"Hehe, those who don't know are not guilty, you hurry up and bring the things. Presumably, this day is about to change again. After speaking, the tall building mage let out a long breath.

"I'm sorry Mage, but I'm just here to make sure, because the chief has taken special care that I'm going to hand it over to you personally." Delmar hurriedly took out the ornament and handed it to the tall mage.

The tall building mage took the ornament and looked at it: "Well, that's it." It's time to come out, too. I saw the high-rise mage close his eyes, fold his hands and hold the ornament in his palm, and chanted in his mouth, "Ha! The tall mage suddenly opened his eyes and threw the ornament into a container filled with liquid beside it. Then he scooped up the liquid from the container and spilled it on a strange map on the table. The map suddenly lit up with a burst of light, illuminating the room.

"Blind into the high-rise building, some people upstairs worried. Sooner or later, it will come. Delmar, your brother is on his way to the Land of Dragons. Well, but the dragon's will is already starting to affect us. The tall mage seemed helpless.

"What do you mean, Master? I don't understand what you mean by the land of dragons, and what is the dragon's will? Desperate for answers, Delmar pressed in.

"There are days in the dark, so you better go to your brother quickly. I give you a compass that will help you find the land of the dragon, and only by going there can you truly understand what the dragon's will is. Maybe that's the only way to save the world. The tall mage paused, "But maybe it's too late, and the hatred has already begun to creep in. ”

Delmar took the compass and continued to ask, "Master, I still don't understand. ”

"You may understand, you may not, but your mission will not change. Go ahead, kid. Find your brother and let him stop it from happening, and only he has the power to put an end to it. After speaking, the high-rise mage turned around and walked to the back room, and there were words in his mouth: "If you enter the high-rise building, some people are upstairs worried." ”

Before Delmar could figure out what was going on, the doubts in her heart were even greater. He opened the compass in his hand and found that the pointer inside kept turning: "Huh? This ......"

"When it feels the need to give you directions, it will tell you where to go. This is the Discord Compass, and it's a treasure in the world. The big bag maid on the side replied proudly.

"Oh, I see, then I'll hurry up." Delmar wanted to leave.

The big bag maid hurriedly grabbed him: "Wait, you can't leave here at this time." ”

"Why?" Delmar was even more puzzled, thinking that there was something strange about this?

"Did you see a white mist above the mountainside when you came in?"

"Yes, yes, it looks strange, it's like a thin layer of cotton wool."

"Well, yes, this white fog is hallucinating, and it moves back and forth between the base and the top of the mountain over time. During the day it goes to the top of the mountain and at night it returns to the bottom of the mountain. You must have been on the mountainside when you came. ”

"yes, I thought it was weird at the time. Do you mean that if you walk out of the col now, you will be surrounded by this white mist? Delmar continued.

"Yes, if one inhales these white mist, one will hallucinate, and the terrain in this col is so intricate that if you take the wrong step, you will not only be unable to leave the col, but you will also die here. And only our house made of special wood and stone in this col can withstand this white fog, so even the high-rise mage himself will never go out of this door at night. I guess you'll spend the night downstairs by the fireplace tonight. I'll leave tomorrow morning. ”

"Hey... All right. I had to spend the night alone. Delmar seemed embarrassed and scratched her head in reply.

"Uh...... I still have a question, though. "Delmar still doesn't give up.

"I know what you're trying to ask, where is this white mist coming from, right?" The big bag maid also seems to have the foreknowledge ability of a high-rise mage.

"Yes, yes, yes."

"Well, I can't say for a while, but I know that it comes from the land of dragons. There seem to be many secrets in the depths of this col. That's why the tall mage lives here, and he wants to know why. ”

"What the hell is this land of dragons, and why haven't I heard anyone talk about it since I was a child?" Delmar frowned.

The big bag maid continued: "I heard from the high-rise mage that this dragon land is in the far east, and there are many strange things on it, and it seems that the strange continent summoned by the will of the gods. And it seems that everyone who has been there has never returned. ”

"What? Just now, the tall building mage said that my brother had gone to the land of dragons. No, I've got to leave early tomorrow morning, I'm going to catch up with him, I can't let him set foot on that damn continent. Delmar clenched her fists and was determined to risk finding her brother.
