Chapter Twenty-Six: Declining Crime Rates
Tim and Dick are sitting in front of a computer in the cave, analyzing all known clues. There was a noise in the tunnel of the Bat Cave. Soon, the batmachine slid in through its dedicated tunnel and stopped at its designated location.
"Got him?"
Looking at Bruce with empty hands and his extremely ugly face when he took off his hood, although he knew it was nonsense, Dick still asked. Escaping from Batman's hands is really worth showing off for a while.
Bruce didn't say anything but walked over, and Tim immediately gave up his place in front of the computer. The two men watched as Bruce quickly retrieved what they had been searching for from his computer.
It's all about the red hood, and it's not just the red hood, it's all the people who wear the red hood when they commit crimes.
There are not many people who will use this method, from well-known and unknown criminals to hundreds in total, and none of these people have made Red Hood their own unique title like this guy.
"And the modus operandi is too bad"
Tim added later. He and Dick had been doing this, comparing Red Hood's behavior patterns to all crimes. It was concluded that this red hood had a fairly strong sense of anti-reconnaissance. This is evident in the time and place he chooses, as well as the mode of his actions.
So far, the cases that can be officially red hooded hands-on all have three characteristics:
First: there are no eyewitnesses.
Second: there are absolutely no valuable clues on the scene.
Thirdly: the time for committing the crime is very short, from the beginning to the departure is very short. In other words, he has a strong ability to plan and execute.
Tim suspects that he has integrated some of Gotham's forces, and that they did find evidence of their merger, but interestingly, they couldn't find any evidence of this related to the Red Hood.
They can conclude from the mouths of these drug dealers that the Red Hood told them to do it, just like the three who were responsible for transporting the goods of the Red Hood and the Black Mask, but they can only tell from the mouths of these people that it is the Red Hood that controls all this, and there is no actual direct evidence to prove that the Red Hood is in charge of all this.
From the first time this red hood appeared in their sight, until today, they saw this guy for the first time, and it was not difficult to see how cautious this guy was.
The screen pauses on a zoomed-in frame, showing a man wearing a red hood and a biker jacket and carrying a sniper rifle, moving swiftly from one rooftop to the other, with great skill and incredible bouncing.
This is the footage recorded by the surveillance footage of the Batmachine when Bruce is chasing Red Hood. The man in the picture quickly crosses several rooftops and descends a rope into the alleyway below.
How much this guy knows about Batman is fully confirmed in this video. The route he chose was narrow and sheltered. And there are a lot of heat sources around. So that whether it is tracking with the thermal radar of the bat machine or Bruce with the naked eye, there is a big obstacle.
“.... This kid knows us better than we thought."
If he can predict Batman's next action pattern by Batman's previous action patterns, then how did he know that there was a heat source radar on the Batman? And his motorcycle can actually shake off the tracking of the batmachine..........
"This guy has a good vehicle, it's almost as good as Robin's motorcycle."
Tim's casual remark reminded Dick of the locomotive he had lost and some of its parts.
“... Probably not..."
"What's wrong? Dick"
Dick's whispered self-talk was still noticed by Tim.
"No..... Nothing."
Bruce stopped what he was doing and looked at the two men, as if waiting for their next words.
"On top of that, Dick and I found interesting things"
Encouraged, Tim continues to talk about his new discovery.
After manipulating the computer in his hand a few times, a report quickly popped up on the big screen.
"The red curve is the drug crime rate, while the other colors are the other crime rates. From the point of view of the curve, from the time the Red Hood came to Gotham to the present, although the curve of all crime rates has been increasing at the beginning, it has quickly become a trend that only one drug crime is rising, while the other crime rates are decreasing."
"Are drugs only on the rise and other crime rates on the rise?"
"It's not going down, the frequency of firefights has been rising recently, and the dead are dead, and those who are caught are caught, Gordon said that every time they fight, they receive an anonymous call to the police, detailing the time and place, so that their arrest rate has also increased by a few points."
Dick suddenly fell silent after saying this, as did Tim and Bruce. It was a long time before Dick asked the question:
"What do you mean by this guy?"
Analyzing from all the known clues at hand right now, in terms of results, I am afraid that it is the result that is good for them. Since the Red Hood became famous in Gotham, the entire Gotham underground forces have been stirred up, and all the big and small forces in all aspects want to take advantage of the chaos to get a piece of the pie, which has indirectly caused the overall trend of declining power.
But was this result what Red Hood himself had hoped for, or was it just an accidental product of his efforts to achieve his goals.
The difference between the two will be the most important thing to judge the true intentions of the Red Hood.
“... I think he's just trying to get rid of them."
After meeting the man once, Tim couldn't imagine that the man would have the unintended purpose of getting rid of them.
"Why do you say that?"
Tim's words made Dick wonder, and the third Robin was most like Bruce's suspicions. Remain suspicious of everything, and maintain a seventy percent trust level for anyone on any clue. It was this characteristic that allowed him to bypass all the traps that Bruce had set him and finally find this place.
How could Tim suddenly speak of Red Hood's intentions in a particularly affirmative tone?
“.. No, just a gut feeling on my part"
Tim hesitated inwardly when he saw Bruce and Dick looking at him at the same time, and then gave an answer.
But this answer is not at all believed by anyone. Dick kept complaining in his heart that one of Tim's traits was that he, like Bruce, didn't believe in intuition at all.
But looking at Tim's attention on his computer again, he also knew that he didn't want to think about what this stuffy gourd was talking about.
