Chapter 33: Zur the Necromancer
Liszt had been fighting against Diablo. After the curse containing the power of Diablo's fear entered Liszt's body, it continued to impact Liszt's will.
Liszt felt like he had been in a dream and couldn't wake up. He was surrounded by demonic fangs, coming at him in a steady stream. Liszt dragged his tired body against the tireless demon, and he had a feeling that if he died here, he might never wake up.
Just when Liszt was about to be exhausted and couldn't even hold a bow in his hand, a strong light suddenly shone down from the sky, and all the demons screamed and were burned to ashes by the light, and Liszt's terrible dream finally came to an end......
Under the care of Kane and his new friends, Liszt gradually regained his human form, although he was still very weak, but he was out of danger of his life, and he only needed to recuperate.
After feeding Liszt, Kane sat on the side of the house and talked to the owner of the house.
"Thank you for your help, Mr. Zur, my friend looks like he'll be back soon." Kane smiled and thanked.
"May Rasmar bless him, look at you, you are not the inhabitants of this place, why are you here?" Necromancer Zur asked.
Kane sought help in this mysterious city after Tyrell's disappearance, and when Kane led Liszt through many jungles, he finally saw a wooden house and a strangely dressed man - he was pale, emaciated, wrapped in a thick black robe and cloak, and had a bony dagger pinned to his body, and the sharp blade shone slightly. He was slender, but full of strong muscles. He has a pair of beautiful almond eyes, but the gray pupils make these eyes look a little scary.
After a brief conversation, Kane learned that this strange person turned out to be a priest of Rasma, a legendary necromancer. Although he looked unusually cold, he helped Kane by allowing the unconscious Liszt to rest in his room.
Kane knew that the necromancers were well-balanced believers, and their faith was even more strong than that of paladins. So Kane told Zur about the thrilling experiences along the way.
Hearing this, Zur frowned: "The conspiracy of the Hell Demon God must be stopped, the demon will upset the balance of the Sanctuary, we must leave immediately and go to Tristram!" β
Kane smiled bitterly: "I also know that time is pressing, but I can't ignore my friend, I hurt him!" β
Zur waved his hand, and saw four skeleton soldiers emerge from the ground, unlike the evil skeletons from hell, the necromancer summoned was significantly more powerful, but not evil, just looking a little terrifying.
"We have no shortage of people to take care of your friends, we must go now, there is no time to delay." After Zur said that, he took the lead and left, and the four summoned skeletons carried Liszt on the stretcher to follow, leaving Kane, who was standing in place, stunned: "There is still this kind of operation?!" β
On the way, although the necromancer behaved coldly, out of the curiosity of the scholar, Kane kept asking Zur all kinds of questions.
"It's the first time I've seen a necromancer, the sacrifice of Rasma! Have you been living in Uri all this time? Kane asked.
"We are few in number, we have been living in Eastern Kegistan, not far from Kurast, but since the mass pagan trials in Sakaram, we have had to leave there and go further east." Zur replied, "Listen to you, the corruption of Sakaram also has the shadow of a demon?" β
"Yes, Zur," Kane sighed, "now that the world is in turmoil, intrigue and darkness are beginning to surface, we must let people know about the evil and horror that is coming. β
"That's your business," Zur's voice was cold, "the priests of Rasma have always been loners, we don't need companions, they just drag us back, as you do." The necromancer shifted his cold gaze to Kane, leaving him a little embarrassed.
"Yes, even a knowledgeable scholar like me has misunderstood you warriors against evil, let alone ordinary people, but I believe that people will recognize the great dedication and sacrifice of your heroes!" Kane said firmly, knowing that in the eyes of ordinary people, necromancers who play with the dead are no different from demons.
"We don't need the world's understanding." Zur looked dismissive, "Our only mission is to protect the balance of the world, and we are not like those Sakaram followers who want to spread light and justice to every corner." "The necromancer doesn't give Kane face at all.
Zur respects the young man who has done everything he can to destroy the demon, so he is willing to rescue him. But he didn't like the old man who had messed everything up and killed the young man who had almost died. Although he claims to be a scholar, in Zur's eyes, Kane is no different from civilians who don't understand anything - it's not just evil that upsets the balance of this world, and people who simply regard darkness and evil as enemies cannot see the truth of this world.
Kane was pushed back by Zur and touched his nose in embarrassment. He knew that Zur had an opinion about him, and he had never been able to forgive himself. If the inhabitants of Tristram and visitors from the East died because of Diablo, it was his responsibility. Even, Kane was a little afraid to think that if Diablo liberated his brother, then he would be to blame for his death - he was the sinner who destroyed the world!
Kane put away his curiosity, stopped talking, and fell into endless self-reproach. If all this is irreparable, he will die without turning a blind eye.
Liszt's weak body left him without the slightest strength to move, not even to open his eyes, but he could hear the outside world, and his psychic power was not affected too much, which made him understand why the dying Archmage Issad could still unleash such terrifying magic before he died. Listening to the conversation between Kane and Zur, Liszt finally understood what was going on. However, Liszt could not forgive Kane for the same reasons as Kane thought, but there were also some differences - if Diablo really regained his strength, then it was his grandfather Austin who would be the first to threaten! Even, under the conspiracy of Lazarus and Diablo, without waiting for Diablo to regain his strength, King Leorrick, who trusted Lazarus, would ruin everything under the control of evil!
"We must get back to Tristram quickly!" Liszt was anxious, "Damn, the first passive shadow synchronization, liberation of power, and that vicious curse made me too weak!" Liszt could only hope that his body would recover quickly, and that the necromancer who had saved his life would speed up his paceβLiszt didn't think that stupid Kane would be able to save him from the Demon God.
"I can feel that your companion has woken up, and his heart is very anxious, and it seems that he is also anxious to destroy the demon god." Zur, who was walking in front, suddenly spoke, "But his current state makes it impossible for him to even open his eyes. β
Kane was pleasantly surprised when he heard this: "Great, Liszt will definitely be fine now, but, Zur, how long will it take for him to recover?" β
Zur didn't pay attention to Kane's question, but said to the motionless Liszt: "Don't worry, young man, we are fast and can get there when you are fully recovered." To be honest, I'm not sure I'll defeat the Demon God alone, so I need your help. Although I have never liked to play alongside other people, I can feel that you and I are the same kind of people and we will be good partners. Now, put your mind at peace, recover well, and don't think about anything else, this is your greatest help to destroy the Demon God at the moment! The quiet Zur probably hadn't said so much in a week, and Kane could see that Zur really approved of Liszt.
Liszt listened to Zur's words, and understood that he had to be rational now, and that anxiety would not solve anything, so he calmed down and tried to make himself fall asleep and speed up his body's recovery.
Zur sensed that Liszt's mood had calmed down, and knew that Liszt agreed with his words. The flat mouth actually hooked up a curved arc.
"Don't worry, man, we'll take care of it, I promise!"
