Chapter 2: The End of Revenge

I made an excuse to trick Lotherma into the portal, and when I watched the last Ranger walk through the portal, I went to the island of Sunchase on the other side of the door, where my surviving compatriots could escape the minions of the scourge and avoid it. I, on the other hand, am going to complete a revenge, to avenge the price I paid for my hesitation. As for Lotherma and the others to see the portal disappear, what would he think? I don't know, but I hope that after all this, this future regent will be able to strengthen his heart, and in this troubled world, no ruler with a firm heart is not suitable to lead his own people.

With this in mind, I raised my staff, and the magic crystal at the top of the staff emitted a faint purple light, and then, in the bright halo in front of me, the portal dissipated into countless points of light.

"Arcane Torrent"

I whispered, a whole blue light lit up on me, the remnants of the portal's disintegration, and all the magic that existed in this room, including the gems used to keep the portal open, and various magical items, including the staff in my hand. All the pure magic that existed in the room was drawn to the blue light that emanated from me.

This is a skill that my people have only mastered in the painful years to come, and I am afraid that no other High Elf can use this kind of spell now, except for me.

All the magic poured into my body, and my blood was filled with the power that was badly overdrawn from the battle. Yes! It's so nice to be surrounded by magic, and I kind of understand why my people's thirst for magic has given rise to a group of mindbreakers.

The staff in my hand cracked and brought me back to my senses. The staff, which has been with me since I officially became a mage, is now coming to the end of its life. The magic it contains has been drained by me.

I pitifully touched my cracked staff, the magic crystals that had glowed purple had dimmed. I placed the staff aside from the box I had prepared and covered it.

Sticking out my fingers, the arcane light left my last message on the box.

Thank you for all these years, my loyal companion, and sorry for Lotherma, my friend, Hugh Belmonterius

I placed this box in the dark compartment on the floor, hoping that in the future, after recovering Silvermoon City, Lotherma will still remember my existence after finding this dark compartment.

Closing the dark grid, I removed the robes that had lost the aura of my magic. Walked to a room in the house, opened them, and put on the equipment that had been placed there.

A Ranger outfit, a Quel'Salas Golden Bow, a barrel of specially made Demon Breaker Arrows, and a spellbreaker's sword.

Haha, Lothima must not have expected that the thin mage friend in his eyes was actually a warrior who knew the art of a ranger, and he had also been trained as a ranger while practicing spells.

And all of this is the last insurance after my plan to get rid of Darkan fails. He was a powerful mage, a mage who was proficient in the dark arts, though he definitely didn't have the strength to do it in the future. But I can't guarantee that there will really be a plot to kill this betrayer in the future, and there are no foot men in this world who overturn all reactionary forces.

With my quiver on my back, my sword on my back, and my bow in hand, I pushed open the door of my house and walked out.

Darkan Drahier, the time has come to pay for your betrayal.

............

Deftly dodged the ghouls roaming the streets, and if he couldn't dodge, he teleported through his magic. Dodge the gargoyles in the sky along the shadows of the houses, using invisibility magic to cut through the abomination surrounding.

Perceiving the magical marks that had been left on him by rubbing against Darkan, Belmont made his way through the streets infested with the undead of the Scourge and approached the location of the traitor.

Yes! Where, the only living creature among the scourge undead was the traitor who drove the city into the abyss.

Staring at the robed figure in the distance, I clutched the longbow in my hand.

"You'll pay, traitor."

Turning over and jumping down from the roof, he cautiously approached the location of the traitor, he did not have many demon-breaking arrows, and once he used them, he could only use his sword to kill the undead and bring the traitor to justice.

But the stakes are too high, and the success rate is too low.

When I was far enough away, I couldn't go any deeper, there were so many undead there, and I wasn't sure I could use magic to hide my body without being detected under the nose of a powerful mage.

I stood on top of the roof, drew my longbow, and aimed it at Darkan.

"Traitor," I shouted, "pay for your betrayal." ā€

He will face me, he was a haughty elf once upon a time, he always promised in the face of other people's provocations, and his pride as a mage will make him face me.

Sure enough, after seeing me, Darkan confronted me and stopped the undead around him from coming forward. Looking at his expression, it was obvious that he didn't recognize me, yes, I was wearing a ranger's clothes now, dressed like a ranger, and covered my face, how could he recognize me as the mage who had always been hostile to him?

I shot an arrow beyond him, and he opened the magic barrier out of a mage's pride to fend off my arrows and taunt me.

However, the arrow I fired broke through his magical barrier and plunged deep into his chest, but missed the place of the heart.

"Damn, I missed," I scolded, even though I knew the skill of a ranger. But it's not the kind of master who hits every shot, the vast majority of rangers at this distance will shoot off, and I, a ranger who was originally a mage, is not listed. I can't think of anyone other than General Windranger who can do it at this distance.

I kept shooting demon-destroying arrows that could destroy magic, and Darkan was hit by another arrow in his right arm. This time I didn't have a chance to attack him again, and he hid behind an abomination.

"Don't you dare face me, you traitor, coward?" I shouted hoping to provoke him, but it was clear that I had failed, and he hid in the undead, and I gritted my teeth and had to dodge out of my position.

The abomination swung its hook and smashed it to pieces.

The gargoyles in the sky thought of me, and I shot them down with an arrow, and the arrows with the power to destroy magic can easily kill these monsters born of magic.

But it didn't work, I ran out of arrows, and countless undead from under the house poured towards my location.

I took a deep breath, threw away the Quel'Salas Golden Bow and the empty quiver, drew the Spellbreaker's sword, and teleported below. He then decapitated the head of a ghoul with his sword and charged towards the undead Darkan.

The undead of Darkan's commander surrounded me, and I killed countless undead, and little by little, I rushed towards Darkan. I looked at me with anger in my eyes and raised my hand to unleash my magic on me.

More than a dozen skulls made of shadow magic rushed towards me, and at the same time I was surrounded by a heavy layer of undead, but I didn't end easily. Once again, I teleported, and through the coordinates of the magic marker on Darkan's body, I suddenly came to his eyes, and looking at his stunned face, I swung my sword and slashed at him.

I plunged my sword into him, and when I couldn't kill him this time, a death knight on a skeletal horse prevented me from deflecting my sword.

Damn it!

I unsheathed the Death Knight's sword, and before it was too late to give him another sword, one of the abominants next to me knocked me out with his hand, and I fell to the ground in severe pain.

Can't fate change even the slightest?

I thought to myself.

The undead surrounded me, and the Death Knight came to my side, raising his runic sword full of death.

"Don't kill him," Darkan shouted, "I'm going to torture this ranger myself, I'm going to kill him with my own hands." ā€

The traitor's roar pulled me back to reality, and as I looked at the Death Knight, who hesitated at his shout, I spat out the blood from my mouth and struggled to pull a purple diamond crystal from my arms.

"Die, traitor, for the glory of Quel'Thalas"

I activated the chaotic magical energy in the crystal, and at Darkan's terrified gaze, the crystal glowed with infinite light, and then exploded violently and engulfed everything around it.

In the moments leading up to the explosion, I activated the ice barrier with what little magic I had left, and the explosion swept my consciousness inside.

I should be able to learn from Uncle ****!

This was my last thought before I lost my memory.
