Chapter 2: The Dawn of Darkness

As we all know, Ionia is the city-state on the Rune Continent that pays the most attention to spiritual cultivation. If Demacia represents justice and Piltover represents law, then Ionia represents the soul. The Ionians have always been unrivaled, and they founded this city-state of freedom and peace in order to improve their spiritual cultivation. Contrary to their expectations, during the Second Rune War, the Noxians set their sights on Ionia. Despite Ionia's aggressive confrontation, little has been achieved. In the end, Ionia relied on her convictions to win the war, at the cost of losing her three provinces and being occupied by Noxus. It wasn't until after the formation of the League that Noxus and Ionia played a match in the Land of Justice (aka Summoner's Rift), and Ionia eventually won. The three provinces were eventually returned to Ionia. At this point, Ionia is complete. Now, three years have passed since the Battle of the Runecrafts, in order to celebrate the victory of the war. Ionia prepares for a celebration of peace. As the aggressor at the time, Noxus would also send high-ranking personnel to participate. It is not only a condolence to the suffering people, but also a kind of repentance for their aggression.

A few weeks later, the celebrations came as scheduled, and the people of Ionia cheered and celebrated today's hard-won peace. Among them, the celebration was mainly attended by high-ranking officials from Ionia and Noxus. Of course, as an ally of Ionia at the time, Demacia also sent its own officials to attend the event. There is one man to mention here, and his name is Frankon Moskefen. This man had participated in the expedition against Ionia at that time, and he was an officer in the expeditionary force at that time, which was neither too large nor too small. Because he had assisted the current Noxian General Svein to ascend to power, he was also promoted after the change of head of Noxus, not only in terms of knighthood, but also in the War College and as an official in the Alliance. This man had done something during the war that led to his death. He once led his soldiers in the massacre of an Ionian village, which coincidentally was the home of Varus, the Arrow of Punishment. When Varus returned home from the abyss, he saw this Noxian thug slaughtering unarmed civilians with his own eyes. Varus looked at him but couldn't do anything, he wanted to avenge his relatives but didn't have enough strength, in a hurry, he turned around and ran back to the abyss and jumped into it, becoming the host of the energy. After gaining more power, Varus returned to the village to clean up the Frandon only to find that they were long gone, and from that day on, Varus vowed that he would always remember the man's face and pay for his blood. Perhaps this was the arrangement of fate, and at this celebration Varus saw this former enemy again, but unfortunately Frankon did not recognize Varus. He tried his best to tell Varus to calm down, but when he remembered the horrific scene at that time, Varus felt an endless anger burn in his heart. Eventually, he decided to kill the man, regardless of the consequences. He also wondered if he would make Ionia and Noxus turn against each other again, but he couldn't control it so much, and he might not have such a good chance in the future. After the inner struggle, Varus took a deep breath and prepared to carry out his assassination.

As with most celebrations, there is always a period of time after the opening show to introduce the guests. Varus intends to use this time to complete his plan. Finally, after the performance, the host stood up and said unhurriedly: "Now introduce the guests present." Varus looked up at the rows of guests, a little impatient. Everyone who was called stood up and nodded to the crowd, and after a long wait, Frankon's name rang out. And he himself stood up with a smile on his face and motioned to the crowd. Varus looked at his smile and couldn't help but grit his teeth. He glanced back at the guards not far away and Irelia beside them, and took a deep breath. Then, just as Frankon was about to sit down, he drew a purple arrow and placed it on his longbow. With a chill in his face, he shot the deadly arrow, a piercing arrow that pierced Frankon's chest, and the poor man died before he could react, and the arrow disappeared like air......

There was chaos at the venue, and people fled in horror when they saw the assassin. Seeing this, Varus immediately evacuated the venue and disappeared into the crowd. On the bench, Karma got up and ordered: "Close the exit and search everyone!" As one of the elders of Ionia, Karma was a little flustered, fearing that Noxus would use this to blackmail Ionia. After all, if a Noxian official died on Ionian territory, Ionia was always at fault. Due to this unexpected situation, the celebration had to be terminated. The Noxians also returned to Noxus the next day, and the whole of Ionia was in turmoil. But unexpectedly, Svein did not mean to hold Ionia responsible in the news he sent to Ionia a few days later, and he obviously didn't want to trouble Ionia. He only told Ionia that the assassination would cause a big mess, and Svein didn't mention what it was. The Council of Elders of Ionia breathed a sigh of relief, fearing that Noxus would seize on the lever. But the chaos that Svein said also made them have to be vigilant.

Finally, a few days later, the answer was revealed. This huge mess is that the mental imprisonment on all the members of the Alliance who serve as Guardian Heroes has been forced to be lifted. The reason, of course, has to do with the death of Franton, who was not only an official of Noxus, but also the director of the Coalition's administrators in charge of regularly updating the psychic confinement devices. What is not known is that this mysterious mental imprisonment is actually a kind of magic. But all magic will weaken with time, in order to avoid the exhaustion of mental imprisonment magic, the alliance turned magic into a sigil engraved on the human body, as long as the human life does not stop, then the mental imprisonment will not end. And such a person must have an endless lifespan, precisely because Noxus has the magic technology that makes people immortal, so this candidate is naturally from Noxus, and because of Franton's merits, Svein deserves to give this opportunity to live forever to Franton. This means that as long as Franton does not die, the confinement of the dark hero will not weaken over time. Frankon gained eternal life, in the sense that he defeated time, but he lost by an accident. As long as you take a fatal injury, you will still die even if you are immortal, and this is the disadvantage of this technique. It stands to reason that such an alliance of men should be protected, but it was only this negligence that led to the beginning of the trouble.

After Franton's death, the confinement on all dark heroes will gradually disappear within a month. They hate the Alliance's power to bind them, and a dark havoc will begin, and these dark heroes will use their ambition and power to destroy the world that once bound them.
