Chapter XXVII
Zhang Jun and Yang Pan have officially entered the first team, and the relationship between the two and other teammates is also very harmonious, especially Ao Chu, Adrianse was worried that the arrival of Zhang and Yang would make him a figure that affected the unity of the team, but what he didn't expect was that Ao Chu performed very satisfactorily to him. Looking at his performance when he met the two competitors on the first day, I wonder if he was born by nature, or if he knew the general situation and focused on the big picture? Anyway, there was no bad impact on the team because of this personnel change. That's what satisfies Adrianse the most.
Of course, a good relationship with your teammates does not mean that you are cooperative. A harmonious relationship is only a foundation, and the tacit understanding with it still requires daily training for the surname. Adrianse has been arranging training for the characteristics of the two Chinese teenagers recently, and the strength of the two is indeed outstanding, but the tactical literacy needs to be improved, after all, amateur and professional competitions cannot be compared.
Yang Pan's and Zhang Jun's cooperation is very tacit, but the cooperation with other team members is not enough. Therefore, Adrianse's recent training has been practicing offensive routines, in order to allow the two to integrate into Warrendam's tactical system more quickly.
Generally speaking, the coach will divide the field into three areas in order to better train them. The three areas are the offensive three, the center and the defensive three. Football is actually a game of creating space and limiting space, and this is best reflected in the offensive and defensive team and individual behavior, which is to create and use space; Passing and running; Set-piece attack. Defense, on the other hand, is opposite, limiting time and space; Looting and protecting; Set-piece defence. As a coach, players should be taught how to judge between safety and risk-taking, and 2) evaluate the probability of success of this style of play, i.e., the most successful action in the situation.
At first, Adrianse asked Zhang Jun and Yang Pan to train to create space. Football matches are won by using space, and before a team can use space, they must first find a way to create space. Spaces are created through individual or group cooperation, and sometimes they are easily obtained due to the mistakes of the other party. Players with poor possession need more space to keep the ball, so it is logical that the first question that should be asked when considering individual creation of space is the player's control of the ball. And Zhang Jun and Yang Pan have Rice in the youth team to supervise and guide, plus their already good foundation, there is not much problem in ball control. Passing and receiving the ball is the foundation of football and is seen as a necessary means to achieve any end. Rice did a good job of training in this area, so Adrianse sent the two into the training phase with their teammates - training to create space for the whole team.
In football, the individual performance of the players is very important, but without the overall coordination, no individual performance is worthless. With synergy, everyone can play their part, and there are many ways to create space in a game where two or three companions combine awareness and action:
Create space with cross-fits. The creation of space is usually related to increasing the distance between defenders, while cross-fitting does the opposite by drawing two defenders closer together so that space can be created on either side of them.
Cross-play can be done along the sideways side of the soccer field or along the longitudinal direction of the soccer field, where the player in control and his partner move in the opposite direction and make a cross, and when they do the cross-match, the non-player can take the ball away or trick the opponent for the partner who continues to dribble. Adrianse told the duo that there are three things that are most important when completing a crossover: 1. When you are crossing with your teammates, everyone should make a sudden acceleration movement. 2. If you dribble, you should dribble with the foot away from your opponent, so that you can better protect the ball. 3. You and your teammates should signal to each other in advance who will dribble the ball and who will trick them, and if you don't do it in advance, it will be a pity if your teammates make mistakes and lose possession.
If the ball is well guarded, it will be difficult for the defender to see the ball clearly, and with the sudden change in speed, the defender will find it impossible to keep an eye on the attacking player. Space is created in this way, and there is a chance to attack the opponent by using this space.
Plug in the back to create space. The goal of doing a back-and-drop run is to create space and make use of it, which is usually when a player without a player plugs in from the side of the player's body and runs to a position in front of him. The coordination of the back plug and run is generally done on the wing, but it can also be very effective in the middle.
It is very important to know when to play behind the ball and to play with the players, and when to do the back and run and get into the front position. When you don't have to deal with the player in control, it's time to move forward. If the ball handler is able to turn around and has room to pass forward, that's the moment when the running player is in the back should grasp it. It's easy to say, but it takes a lot of hard work on the training ground to really master it in a game. At least Zhang Jun realized that when he was training with Bayes to plug in and run in the back, he should have not looked at the timing of the plug-in and running in the back, and Bayes himself did not have such a tacit understanding with Yang Pan, so he did not cooperate with Bayes to the idea. It's not that I'm running late, I didn't run until the balls were passed out; Before the ball could be passed out, Bayes ran into an offside position. Adrianse took the trouble to blow the whistle, stopped training, explained to Zhang Jun in detail, and then whistled again, and the training restarted...... Relatively speaking, Yang Pan is much better, in high school and college, his understanding of tactics is better than Zhang Jun, so Liang Ke will choose Yang Pan as the captain, rather than Zhang Jun, the spiritual core of the team. In terms of executing the tactical intentions of the coach, Yang Pan is at the professional level, while Zhang Jun is just getting started.
Create space by increasing depth and fabrication width. The game of football is a game full of confrontations, and the relationship between the two sides in the game is antagonistic, which determines whether one side is attacking or defending.
When a team defends, the goal is to limit the time and vital space available to the attacking team. When a side retreats and converges in the direction of its goal, it concentrates forces in vital spaces near the penalty area. When the retreat is complete, the defenders will find themselves close to each other.
When a team goes on the attack, creating space and time is a priority. This can be achieved by increasing the depth or manufacturing width, or both. In between, every player has to think quickly and move wisely.
When it comes to creating space, it's just as important to think fast as it is to move well. It is only possible to think quickly if the players are fully focused. There is a tendency to create a psychological slack after an exchange of possession between peers, and if this happens, the initiative is immediately given to the opponent. However, if the players can stay focused, they may be able to stay in possession and take the initiative.
As a simple example, when a defender can't turn around and clear the ball when the opposing striker is pressing, and doesn't want to give the opponent a corner kick, the best way is to pass back to the goalkeeper. But there is also a risk to be taken in passing back the goalkeeper. In football, it is not uncommon for goals to be conceded due to mistakes in the coordination between defenders and goalkeepers. One reason is that the defender does not follow through on the tactical requirement of creating space by increasing depth and creating width, and after the defender passes back to the goalkeeper, the striker who has been forcing him will naturally shift the target, pounce on the goalkeeper, and effectively press the goalkeeper, which will make the goalkeeper panic psychologically, and the goalkeeper is usually the worst person in the team, and in this case it is easy to make low-level mistakes. At this time, the defender after the return pass should be pulled to the side, in order to create the width required by the goalkeeper pass, the striker in the goalkeeper when pressing to the goalkeeper after all, after all, lose the care of the team defender, the goalkeeper can calmly pass the ball to the feet of the defender who has been pulled to the side, the defender can calmly decide whether to make a long pass with a big foot, or to carry the ball himself, or a short pass.
As can be seen from the above, increasing depth and manufacturing width is actually ubiquitous, and reasonable use of it can make your team get more opportunities. If every player on a team is able to run after gaining possession, it presents a problem for the opposition to defend.
In view of the characteristics of this tactic, Adrianse has repeatedly emphasized the following six points in his training:
1. Not only should players run to different spaces at different angles, but the ball should be visible during their runs.
2. The selection of players should make it more difficult for defenders to mark and protect each other.
3. Attacking players who are ready to receive passes from their teammates should have as wide a field of vision as possible in their position.
4. The choice of passing is important, and the player who penetrates forward should be considered as much as possible - not necessarily in the maximum space.
5. The quality of the pass is crucial, the space that has been created, but this space is lost due to poor ball control and low quality passing.
6. If the space has been created, the next step is to take advantage of it. If a player continues to pass back or horizontally, the opportunity to use the space will be missed. So once space is created, players should think about how to use the space and move forward quickly to get shots.
During this training, Zhang Juncai truly realized Rice's good intentions, especially Adrianse's emphasis on the fourth and fifth requirements, which are the basis of this tactic. Rice tirelessly let them train to pass and receive the ball, just to lay the foundation for them, and if the foundation is not solid, nothing can be built on it. In this training, because of the solid foundation in front, Zhang Jun and Yang Pan have made rapid progress, and they have been able to make more wonderful running and passing cooperation with several teammates.
Create space by running diagonally. Diagonal running, as the name suggests, is a diagonal run relative to the football field, which can be in any of the following directions: diagonal running from the middle of the field to the side, this type of running usually refers to the running from the inside line to the outside line; Diagonal runs from the wing to the middle, which usually refer to runs from the outside to the inside.
The purpose of diagonal running is to create space or to make use of the space that has been created, sometimes it requires a short distance with a depth of 10-15 yards, and sometimes it is a long run with a shallow depth of 40-50 yards. The first is more similar to the aforementioned increase in depth, and the run must be in a very steep diagonal direction. The latter is similar to making width, because of the offside rule, the striker has to often run diagonally in different depths and long and short distances.
Diagonal movement of players in the frontcourt position can cause a lot of problems for defenders. Defenders prefer attacking players to run in a straight line in front of and back, which helps defenders mark, protect and retreat towards goal. Diagonal running is another kind of opposition that the defender does not want to encounter, and it creates problems for defenders to lead them out of their normal return line and have to decide how far away from the return line, when to mark the opponent, when to block space and how to protect each other.
The striker's excellent diagonal movement often creates space that can be used by his teammates in the back. In Volendham, because Adrianse is set up with two strikers, the two-striker setup is used as an example. Two strikers run diagonally in opposite directions during the match, separating the two centre-backs who are marking them, known as a 'split run'. The two centre-backs were forced out of their defensive positions, creating a vacuum in the middle. At this time, the defender must quickly grasp this opportunity and run from the midfield to the front of the penalty area, this run cannot be a straight run, and the defender in the midfield will not perceive the offensive player to run diagonally because of the perspective problem, which is called "blind spot running", and behind the defender is a zone that is easy to be attacked by "blind spot diagonal running". This is mainly due to the tendency of defenders in such positions to ignore their opponents, putting themselves in a position with their backs to their opponents and failing to observe their opponents' movements. When a defender is running diagonally, the player with the ball should quickly pass the ball to the path he is running, i.e. the vacuum that has been pulled out by the two strikers running separately. The offensive situation was opened.
Diagonal running is one of the most common and effective tactics in attack, and it is a skill that strikers must master. Therefore, Adrian arranged a lot of relevant training for Zhang Jun and Yang Pan in this regard.
Create space with a single touch. Throughout the game of football at a high level, players must have the ability to pass the ball directly accurately. The closer you get to the opposing goal, the more important it is that the team is able to play with a touch accurately and quickly.
Some people may mistakenly think that one touch is too difficult for the average player, and the general idea is to start with something simple and easy, such as two touches or three touches. This kind of thinking will lose the purpose and starting point of the one-touch play, because the purpose of this exercise is to focus on improving the player's ability in the following aspects:
1. Field of view. Young players always keep their heads down during the game, and rarely pay attention to what is happening on the field and the movement of the players around them, which can sometimes be attributed to the players paying too much attention to the ball and not paying enough attention to the situation on the field. Two touches allow for observation before receiving possession, and then looking up again before passing. It is likely that during the time spent watching the catch and then watching, the situation on the field has changed, often resulting in the wrong role and slow pace of play.
The biggest advantage of a touch is that it can prompt players to pay attention to the situation on the field and make decisions in advance before the ball reaches their feet. In unrestricted matches, the facts tell you that a direct shot may not necessarily be effective, but in many cases, a touch of the ball can be particularly valuable and necessary.
2. Speed of decision-making. Football is a game of decision-making to some extent, and of course it's just as important to make the right decisions. In order to think more deeply and quickly than your opponents, the ability to make quick decisions is crucial. A single touch of the ball develops a player's ability to think quickly and make decisions early. Because, in a touch of the ball, you don't have time to slowly think about each step before making a move, when the ball is already at the opponent's feet.
3. Ball speed. Undoubtedly, a touch is the quickest way to pass the ball, and it is often easy to get space and better angles, so it is also beneficial to have more time to observe the situation on the field. In other cases, it's best to get the ball out as soon as possible. The defender reacts to the movement of the ball, so if the ball is played with a series of touches, the point of attack will change constantly, and the ball will travel faster than the defender will react, and as a result, more space will be created for the attacker.
4. Movement of offensive players. Defenders must react not only to the movement of the ball, but also to the actions of the attacking players, and when the rapid movement of the players is combined with the movement of the ball, it is much more difficult for the defenders to make decisions.
A touch of play encourages an attacking player to move quickly into position to help a partner get the ball out, and it can also prompt a player to run quickly to the next position after a pass.
That's why a touch of the ball should be considered an indispensable part of teaching football.
Adrianse knows this, which is why he schedules a touch of the ball in his training after all the training. One touch is a comprehensive technique and tactic that combines all the skills of players such as running diagonally, switching positions, inserting in the back, passing and receiving the ball, etc.
At first, Zhang Jun thought that a touch of the ball was the golden ball they played against the High School Affiliated to the University of Science and Technology in the final of their sophomore year of high school, but in training, they found that in fact, a touch of the ball does not necessarily require many players to pass the ball from the backfield to the goal without stopping...... The most common touches of the ball are in the front and midfield, and a few passes and runs between two or three people respond to each other, quickly tearing apart the opponent's defense with a small range of cooperation, forming an opportunity to break through the defense and score goals.
A touch of the ball is not so much a technical requirement as a test of a player's tactical literacy and observational ability. Zhang Jun and Yang Pan don't have much problem with their passing and receiving skills, but because they lack the tacit understanding they have established with their teammates for a long time, their passing looks like a headless fly many times. The teammates also lacked an in-depth understanding of Zhang Jun and Yang Pan. To take the simplest example: how fast is Zhang Jun's acceleration? Other teammates didn't know, so when Zhang Jun was running, there was always a phenomenon that someone ran past and the ball arrived. But this is not a difficult question, as the training deepens, everyone knows how fast Zhang Jun starts? First on the team. And how fast is Yang Pan's 100-meter speed? First on the team.
While Zhang Jun and Yang Pan were still carrying out these hard but necessary trainings, while they were still desperately trying to integrate into the team family, and when they were calling home once a week to communicate with each other, the Dutch Premier League passed three rounds, and the next week was a double match a week due to international breaks. The intensive games made Warrendam, who was not thick enough on the bench, a little weak, and as a result, he lost three games again, lost four in a row, did not score a goal, and finished at the bottom of the points.
Adrianse knew his test was not over, and although he managed to get Lundamu to the Super League with a successful season, he was also dismissed from the poor record. Even if Super and First Division are completely different concepts, the owner of the team doesn't care about this, he invests money, he must see the return, see the results, and his boss is still a desperate surname......
The day after the sixth-round loss, owner Hoens called Adrianse into his office for a morning and told him he had to win at least one of the three rounds or he should think about finding a new job.
Adrianse's distress can't be told to the boss, in fact, it is useless to say, he needs the thickness of the bench to cope with the long winter. He needs good shooters to storm the city for him. But all of this costs money, and with Warrendam's strength, it is far from that economic strength.
The boss's impatience is also manifested in the interference in his employment work, when he signed the contract, he said that he would be the coach to bring in the players. But that morning, the old man Horns warned him not to joke with the club's money and future.
"I don't understand why you want to bring in two Chinese? To be honest, the Chinese don't play at all, just look at their poor performance at the World Cup! And the two of them are still so young, do you want to raise them from scratch? Damn it! Throw a lot of money on those two pieces of waste who have no future at all! The more Horns spoke, the more agitated he became, he waved his arms, and the spitting stars flew sideways, and every fat on his body trembled with his fierce movements.
Adrian thought to himself that you don't know how to play! You bloated ugly old fat man! But he just said it in his heart, he didn't want to turn his face with the boss now, the current grades are not good, and the boss is understandably angry.
But Horns turned out to be addicted, and he began to gush on Adrianse, the famous coach who had coached Ajax, to give tactical lessons. In one game, he was too conservative and lost; A game is too bold and leads to failure; Improper substitutions in a game, resulting in defeat; Mistakes in the development of tactics in a certain game, resulting in defeat......
Adrianse couldn't stand such a big fly buzzing in his ears, he stood up abruptly and interrupted the boss's "high talk": "I want you to promise, sir, in the remaining three games, if there is one more defeat, I will leave with those two 'damned' Chinese!" ”
ps: Most of this chapter is about tactical training, I wonder if it will make everyone feel a little boring and bored? Ho ho, but I'm going to write about it because it's a must. These tactical trainings are relatively basic learning processes for both Zhang Jun and Yang Pan, and they must accept them.
In addition, I spent so many words writing about tactics, and I also want to express a point of view, tactics are actually not what everyone thinks, and they must be involved in the formation and personnel allocation before they are called tactics. In fact, throughout the football game, tactics are everywhere. There are big tactics, such as defensive counterattacks, all-out attack, all-out defense, penetration in the middle, and break-through on the wings...... There are also tactics in terms of details, for example, two over one, some people will think that it is the embodiment of individual skills and the embodiment of tacit understanding between two people, but this is also football tactics.
What I have been lacking has always been a more detailed and systematic theoretical knowledge as a foundation, ho ho, but now I bought an old book during the Spring Festival, and after reading it, my understanding of tactics has improved, and it has also helped me a lot in writing.
The knowledge and training arrangements of the tactics in this novel are all quoted from the book "Football Tactics and Skills" (English name: Sertacticsandskills), written by Charleshughes, People's Sports Publishing House.
