Act XXIV: The Firmament VI
Brando swore that if he had known what it would be like to be buried in the mud and sand, he would have preferred to surrender rather than run away.
At first, he felt his body rapidly descend in the darkness, countless objects rolling down from him with the sound of whirring wind, and only a faint light overheadβthe direction of the crumbling underground hall.
After about a second or two, he felt a violent impact.
A normal person would probably be crushed to pieces under such an impact, but it was nothing to the flesh of the golden pinnacle, and Brando only felt that he had hit a sloping slope, and then rolled down the sharp rock. He tried to grab something, but in vain in the darkness, a large amount of mud and sand rolled him down until he hit a flat rock.
Brando felt the first impact, and then the second impact was a limp body that hit him. He immediately realized that it was Akane, and that a larger amount of rocks and mud were rolling down on top of his head, and Brando hurriedly pulled the girl down, then rolled over and blocked her body in front of her.
For about a split second, there was a loud bang, and several huge rocks slammed down on him. Of course, this was nothing to Brando, it felt like a few sticks, but the amount of mud and sand made him miserable.
He had just coughed, and his mouth was full of sand.
But this is not the most tragic experience, the key is that as soon as he lowered his head and subconsciously planned to spit out the sand in his mouth, he met a pair of sparkling eyes. It was a pair of quiet, curious, and shy eyes, apparently belonging to some mountain girl who liked to have a long ponytail, Akane was protected by Brando, and looked at her lord so obediently and motionlessly.
For both Brando and Akane, it was not difficult to see in the dark, and both of them could clearly see each other's state.
But fortunately, it doesn't seem to be the first time the two have encountered such a situation. Last time in the Ring of the Trade Winds. When he was chased by the Nightmare, he experienced almost the same situation. After one experience, the second time at least didn't seem so awkward.
"Your Lord." Akane whispered, and she blinked, "Thank you." β
"Woo." Brando's mouth is full of sand, and there are words of suffering. He was almost face to face with Akane. You can't spit sand in the other person's face. And the outside is still rumbling, and it is clear that the collapse will not end for a while and a half.
But Brando didn't answer, and the mountain girl looked at him carefully. After a while, Brando suddenly felt Akane move, and gently rested her forehead on his chest.
This seemingly unintentional action made Brando's heart pause slightly, and he subconsciously lowered his head to see Akane curled up in his arms like a child.
"Woo...... Madder? β
"I'm sorry......" Akane seemed to be awakened by his voice, startled, and hurriedly let go of her hand. Brando watched as she cautiously shrank back. I couldn't help but feel a little unbearable: "Actually, it's okay...... Are you afraid? β
Akane frowned and shook her head slightly.
Brando was silent for a moment, telling the truth. He couldn't see what the girl was thinking. Actually, since the war of Ampesel. Macaro came to see her several times, but she refused. Akane on weekdays is also silent. Only occasionally with Roman - but according to the rest of the Greywolf Mercenary Regiment, she shouldn't have been like this before.
He thought about it for a while, and felt that he was really not suitable to guess the girl's mind, after all, the previous life was a super waste wood in this regard. Shaking his head, he decided to change the topic and said, "Akane, how did you break through Ovina's elements before?" β
"Huh?" The mountain girl was slightly stunned, raised her head and looked at him curiously.
"You don't know?" Brando was stunned, of course he could see that Akane's expression did not show the slightest hint of fraud.
Akane shook her head in confusion.
"Blame ......" Brando's mind was even more confused than Akane, he was well aware of the power of Owena's fateful element. Ovina's fate element is very similar to that of a word spirit, but the potency is much stronger than that, and if you can't break through your fate, you will never be able to defeat her, or even attack her.
But the problem is that, as a gold realm of the Being, it is obviously an impossible task to break free from the power of the elements of the legendary hero who has mastered the power of the Being.
Don't say it's him or Akane, I'm afraid even the Silver Storm Master William can't do it either.
Could it be the reason for the dragon bloodline? However, I haven't heard of the bloodline of the Golden People to be able to leapfrog the challenge, so I can only say that the talent is better.
Brando frowned and couldn't find a clue, but it was at this moment that he suddenly felt something, and when he looked up, he found that the movement of the rock rolling down had indeed become smaller. This was undoubtedly the best news for him at the moment, and he hurriedly put aside the chaotic thoughts in his head, reached out and lifted it, easily lifting the rock that was pressing on him, and with a further push, the rubble rolled down into the darkness with the mud and sand.
Brando crawled out of the rubble, and then rescued Akane from inside, and the two of them finally came to a flat rock, and looked around, and found that a huge cavity had formed under the collapsed hall, and they were in the middle of the cavity, and any traces of previous manifold on the top of their heads were long gone.
Brando looked around, theorizing that when the floor of the hall collapsed, William and Ovina should have been trapped in the mud and sand, and the others should not be in much danger if they were restrained by the lightning cage against the wall. But Brando's eyes tried to find William and Owena in the darkness, but there was no one to be seen.
"Strange." He was slightly stunned, according to the strength of Ovena and William, he should be able to get out of trouble earlier than him, the previous collapse looked dangerous, but for a person of their level, it shouldn't be a problem at all.
"My lord, look over there!" Akane had been standing beside Brando without saying a word since she was dragged out of the sand, but as a half-dragon, her eyesight was obviously much better than Brando's.
Brando then looked in the direction she had said, and after a while, she saw a point of light flying out of the darkness. But it wasn't until the light source got closer that he realized it wasn't a point of light at all. Rather, William flew in mid-air holding a glowing staff.
And a little closer. Brando suddenly saw that the old mage was still carrying a person in his hand - judging by the white-gold body made of lightning, it was not Owena, who was it?
William's flying skills were extremely fast, and he was in front of Brando almost in the blink of an eye. He descended. The robe flew lightly, then landed firmly in front of Brando. With a flick of his hand, he threw Ovina in front of Brando.
"She's unconscious?" Brando stared at Owena with her eyes closed. I can't believe that this is the unbeatable Heroic Spirit Lord before, normally speaking, as long as the body is perfected, even if you fall from a height of thousands of feet, you won't fall into a coma, this is too cheap.
"You guessed it, little one, her strength has diminished dramatically since she left that hall," replied the old mage, "and when I found her, she was only silver at best. And the magic power in his body continues to drain. It is foreseeable that if it continues, it will be difficult for her to even maintain her ontology. β
"I see." Brando was slightly stunned. But he was a little troubled. He couldn't help but look at the lightning girl on the ground and said, "So what's the situation now?" Whether we won or lost, this guy doesn't want to pay the bill, right? β
"Ahem...... What do you think of me! Brando's voice just fell. Unexpectedly, Oweina, who was unconscious on the ground, suddenly woke up, although she still looked a little weak, but she still glared at Brando angrily: "Although I hate opportunists the most, but winning is winning, I will never admit it!" β
The girl gasped, and then her face became much more rosy. Brando and William on the side both frowned slightly, because they also noticed that the aura of power on Ovina's body seemed to have become stronger all of a sudden.
"Can your strength be restored?" Brando couldn't help but blurt out, "Isn't the hall ruined?" Wait, you ......"
He narrowed his eyes as if he realized something.
But the silver mage leader had apparently reacted before him, and a look of surprise had already appeared on his face.
"Hmph, you're a little clever." Ovina replied angrily, "As you might guess, it's not that the closer I get to that hall, the stronger I get. But the closer you get to the Holy Lance, the closer the firmament power becomes, and as you may have guessed, I'm not some Azure Knight - I'm the Firmament. β
"Ha ......" Brando seemed to be punched in the face: "So the previous qiΔ was directed and acted by you?" β
"Not quite, as an artifact, I certainly have a reason to pick my owner." Owena lifted her chin and replied proudly.
"Well, it doesn't matter to us anyway," Brando shrugged, it wasn't the first time he'd seen magical equipment with a soul. Isn't the Wind Queen Ring in his hand sealed with the Heroic Spirit of the Sage War Era, not to mention that many famous magical equipment in the Amber Sword have similar mechanisms, but the sealed Heroic Spirit alone is so powerful that Cheng DΓΉ is here, this is the first time he has seen it.
But the more this is the case, the more it proves the value of the sky. He thought for a moment, then continued, "Anyway, you admit that we won before, right, so now you can choose who will be your owner, right?" β
"Yesβ" Orvina replied through gritted teeth, "but before that, I have a question. β
"Huh?"
"I wonder how she can break through my elemental powers!" The girl in the lightning state looked at Akane on the side again, and once again showed an incredible look on her face, she, like Brando, couldn't figure out why a gold-level existence could ignore the influence of her fate element.
Brando glanced at Akane and thought for a moment, "Maybe it's because of the dragon blood?" β
"Impossible!" Ovena vetoed categorically: "It's just a golden people, when did their bloodline have such power?" Unless there is some genetic mutation in the past 10,000 years, but the probability is too small. β
"Genetic mutation?" Brando chewed on the word word for word, is there still this setting in Amber Sword?
But the lightning girl just snorted coldly and did not answer him.
There seemed to be silence in the darkness for a while, until Archmage William thought for a moment and said, "Maybe I know why?" β
"Huh?" All eyes were on him.
"In our history, there are some things that can change people's fate and break free from the shackles of fate." The old mage replied slowly, "Brando, you know that little girl from Aloz. β
"Ahh Brando suddenly exclaimed, with a look of sudden realization: "I see, I know!" β
